Unfortunately, no. Optimus requires you to have the iGPU wired up to the display and the dGPU wired through that for output. The models with the 560m and up have the dGPU wired directly to the display, so it's physically impossible to use the iGPU and Optimus.

Thanks for the response Mailbal. Quite unfortunate about the no Optimus support.

    Thanks

A good idea then is to contact some resellers for the best pricing for your configuration. There are good deals for all price ranges. :)

You might check around with some resellers. Under $1,000.00 for this high quality machine is a little low. Sorry. :(

The best you can get for under $1000 would be something like the W150HR with the 555m, and essentially at stock configuration. It would be ~1/2 the power of this model at stock config, but it would come in around your budget mark.

If you're main intention is gaming, you can get the i5 on the p151hm1 with teh 4 DIMM 8gb and the "degraded" screen to drop the price below 1000$ (I have it at 988). The i7 doesn't make to big of an impact during games. If you're a student, you can also try pursuing a student discount (need verification though).

Hey guys, I just received my P151HM1 today. It's a pretty sweet laptop so far, I am pretty happy with it.

Edit: Nevermind the following comment. I'm not crazy, it is a glossy screen.

I have one question though.. mostly because I don't have all too much experience with matte screens. I am curious though, mostly because the reseller I bought from told me that the glossy 95% NTSC screen was on backorder, so I upgraded to the matte 95% NTSC screen.

As I look at this screen though, it is bright and colorful, but the only thing is, it seems very.... glossy. Lights are VERY clear in the background. A light a foot or two behind me is clearly viewable and I can see the reflection very clearly. I thought that the matte screens were supposed to diffuse light sources and make them not so easy to point out.

What are other people's experience with this?

Got my laptop from Malibal. I likey so far. I installed Linux Mint last night because I didn't have a spare DVD around to install Windows, but right now I'm installing Win7 by the network.

I'll post back with some more impressions soon!

Ok I purchased my malibal p151hm1 8/5 and received it on the 8/19.
So it has been exactly two weeks (9/2) since I received my laptop, and my screen is already showing two defective pixels. :(
Red dot on upper left slightly from the center, and a bright dot on a lower left around center of the screen.
Both pixels are very visible when the screen displays dark images so its bothering me.
Laptop has been sitting on my desk all the time so no external dmg.
How do I solve this issue?

As long as you have a flash drive laying around, you can always install Windows 7 that way.

    Kevin’s Blog

You can either use the link to the microsoft tool in there, or do it the old fashioned way via command prompt :D

It sounds like neither of the pixels are dead- just stuck. Dead pixels would be totally black. I'd recommend trying out the link below:

5 Ways To Fix A Stuck Pixel On Your Screen

If that doesn't fix it, feel free to contact us directly.

Not sure what problems you're talking about, but I keep my laptop lid closed when I use my external kbm in combo with a monitor. However, I adjusted to using a good xbox 360 controller, not a ps2 one. That could be the root of your issue, though it shouldnt be.

Michael: unlocked multiplier just means you can overclock the processor.

Here's a question for my new amigos here. With the 4 audio input/outputs on this machine, is it possible to use the center/sub out or the rear speakers out as a 2nd output for headphones? For those rare times that my wife and I are on the plane and want to watch a show or movie but don't necessarily need to share one side of a headphone.

If I got the Internal 802.11B/G/N LAN and Bluetooth Card from Malibal what is the company that makes the BT card? I had to hunt on the install disc for the wireless lan drivers, webcam, fingerprint reader, and thx drivers. Would have been nice if they came up in the autorun option like the rest of them did.

It's official. I am a Clevo P151HM1 owner. I could not be happier with this laptop. The 95% Gamut Matte screen is flawless, no ghosting, stuck or dead pixels.

I have ran IntelBurnTest on it for 30 minutes and the highest temperature I got on the CPU was 74c.

Unigine Heaven Benchmark was impressive when hooked up to AC and the GPU never hit 70c.

The only gripe, albeit a very very small one, is the piano finish on the underside of the LCD bezel. I would have actually preferred a Matte finish comparable to the palm rest. But, hey, what can you do. This laptop is a beast and is quite possibly the best PC purchase I have made in a long time.

Hi Guise, first post on NBR,

So I'm on the verge of ordering a Clevo P151HM1 here in Aus... been reading through the last 180 pages... just wanna triple check my planned config is right:

    http://www.affordablelaptops.com.au/contents/en-us/d380_metabox-clevo-p151hm1-laptop-notebook.html

    1. No HDD, no windoze install

Then go out and buy a Crucial M4 64GB SSD and 500GB seagate momentus XT. Mount the SSD as primary HDD, rip out the optical drive out of its caddy, drop the seagate HDD in it, buy a usb optical drive for those rare moments i may need one (plus install W7)... Just want to make sure i wont need some stupid little cable or saddle or someother BS not letting me do the above plan.

    Cheers!

    P.S. Post pics of your/someone elses gaming-laptop-in-a-semipermament-setup

Really? How so? They don't seem to be as flexible as Affordable in that they don't offer a 64gb ssd or second hdd; not that it matters as I want to DIY. The prices end up being the same, but Affordable is doing free shipping. Same same no?

Because you didn't email them :). I contacted them, they dropped my pricing by $100 ~ for manual installation of a HDD and no OS. They do offer a second HDD as well. Free shipping, well that's something different I guess but I did seem to get a better value from LBO than A4L. Plus LBO's service has been top notch now.

    Hello Tiotion,

Sounds good, but don't put an XT in your ODD, especially if you're using it for storage. A normal 500GB 7200RPM drive should be fine. :)

Another thought would be to just take the optical drive you tear out and stick it in an enclosure, rather than buying a new external optical drive.

Supra...I'll thought of that too but cbf looking for an enclosure and going through eBay. A drive is ~$30. Meh.

Oh you can ask for the reader (but I forgot about mine). LBO stated that I could get a reader if I actually wanted one , but their special deals have no readers. Kinda weird but well. I thought it'll be annoying without one...but seeing that it sits in my house all day, I just put an empty password and let it glide through the startup process. So that kinda eliminates that problem in a way.

LBO offered to match A4L free postage...that's pretty cool. Last question Lamp... Does your Horize come with any stickers or branding on the LCD frame? Looks like LBO shopped Horize on their pics on the site. The lack of branding is something that I really like with Clevos.

No branding on the laptop itself :) . "Horize" stickers are stuck on the packaging, that's about it. But you can ask them, maybe they might've changed that.

They have branding on the inside of the LCD now. Below the LCD, centred when you open it. Just the Horize logo.
