    Hey.

Why is my ram only showing as 1333mhz? It also shows up as 1333mhz in passmark performance test...
I don't see that I can adjust anything in the bios, is it hidden menues or something?

If I had to guess you have a HyperX kit that only allows access to 1600 via a XMP profile. You need a Plug-N-Play kit to get access to those speeds on the P150. Only the P170 has manual overclocking abilities.

    But P150HM does support 1600mhz?

Lol, guess I have to replace the ram to one that is supported then.

Yes it does, Patriot 1600Mhz is standard memory on all our builds.
It supports 1866Mhz also as long as its Plug-N-Play

Hello, I was wondering what temps you guys were getting on the 485 at idle and light load? (light load as in just having IE open with one tab)

It's really starting to get on my nervous the sound the the gpu makes under light use even with extreme underclocks. At idle I'm getting 38, but as soon as i fire something up it shoots to 40-44 and the fan kicks up.

(gpu clocks are 26/101 @.85v's and the notebook is elevated on a coolermaster cooler)

Its not bad memory either. The Patriot memory is really Micron Chips, while the Samsung is Samsung chips. I would say either would be able to do the job quite well.. Just really depends on price and making sure you get good warranty support (Can't speak for samsung there) =)

I have a Sager NP8150 and I am upgrading to a i7 2920xm processor. When running LinX, The processor temp climbs to 98*c, and the laptop shuts off, The fan never spins up unless I manually override it with the FN+F1 Key. With the i7 2820Qm I had in there, the fan turns on around 80*c, speeds up at 88*c, and the temp never gets above 90*c. Is there a BIOS or EC Firmware update that addresses this? or is there a different problem that you can think of? I don't really want to buy another 2920 to see if that's the problem.

Those temps are good. My P150HM 485m idles at 39C and bumps to 48-50C under load.

The "danger zone" is 90-100C and up. If you hit 95C+ contact your reseller. If you're only seeing temps like you mentioned, then you're definitely on the low side of average.

Just curious if anyone has tried a Kingston SSD to comment on compatibility. I've got a Kingston SVP100S2/128G kicking around that I'd like to try in my incoming 150HM.

I've got a Kingston SSDnow V series SNV425-S2/128GB that works like a champ in my P150HM

Newegg.com - Kingston SSDNow V Series SNV425-S2/128GB 2.5" 128GB SATA II Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Got it on shell shocker a few months back. Haven't had any issues with it- no BSoDs or freezes/hangs at all unlike some of the faster sandforce drives.

Hey everyone, new to the forums and a soon to be owner of the Eon-15s (P150HM). I ordered a very similar configuration as the one above, but from Origin PC and for a slightly lesser cost. Can I be confident in the support/construction quality of Origin (as opposed to Sager or Xotic)?

Can someone comment on the noise levels for 8150 for general use and hopefully someone who tried out Envy14.

I'm sorry, klas, but that is going to be a very subjective answer. Everyone's laptop is slightly different.

Most would say, however, that it is very quiet, and that the fans are a "low whoosh" on idle. (I think HTWingnut said that, not sure...)

The noise levels for general use is important to me and without being able to try out the laptop in person I have to rely on whatever information I can get. As long as it doesn't sound like hovercraft during browsing it should be enough.

The noise isn't very pronounced. It's about the same as a loud-ish whisper when you're gaming. The newer bios updates pretty much eliminate the pulsing fan noise that was prevalent early on. If you're just browsing the web, it's pretty much unnoticeable.

hi guys, i just recieved my Clevo P150HM w/ GTX485. using it for uni/casual gaming and i'm already loving it.

I take out my battery when i'm using it at home and have it connected to an lcd tv and use it as a desktop. I know i should take out the battery at about 40% charge and store it.

i was wondering how you guys store it and what you do to protect the battery connectors and battery bay in general on the bottom when the battery is removed?

Hey, has anyone picked up an alternate power brick for the NP8150? The pack-in is massive, and the shielding is already tearing on mine. I'm hoping to find one a little more reasonable, perhaps from the iGo line. Let me know if any of you have had success with this.

You can use polystyrene from your electric packages and cut it nicely to cover the battery bay.

Ordered my 8150 a few days ago, from XoticPC, with changes to almost all the major components.
    2820qm
    95% gamut matte screen
    ATI 6990M
    no ram(already have ram waiting)
    Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103
got an SSD and storage drive waiting as well.

I read user reviews and official reviews about the 2720 vs 2820 before I made my decision. I know the performance difference is almost zero, however, money isn't an issue to a point.

    I hope it is portable-ish.

If money is no object than I would look at getting an additional battery. With those components I wouldn't expect more than 2 hours. We have a very similar config. and that is what I plan to do anyways.

That's one point that is a little lacking. There aren't many photo's showing the size of the Np8150 compared to your normal 15" laptops. A comparo pick with the HP DV6 for example would be great :)

It should be only a little bit thicker than your average 15", just remember the power brick is quite large.

A picture of my NP8150 (15.6" screen) compared to Compaq CQ40 (14.1" screen). And the weight is slightly heavy compared to CQ40 even without battery.

I suppose I should clarify. I don't use my laptops on batteries for more than 2 hours anyways. What I mean by portable-ish is my ability to comfortably move them in my shoulder bag for hours at a time. I have an old xps m170 and it weighs 10lbs and that is uncomfortable after about 30 minutes in my bag. My old laptop weighed about 5.8lbs and this new one should be about 7lbs and I am hoping that doesn't cause shoulder strain. Even if it does this is the computer I need to own for the foreseeable future and there really is no choice.

97?! Holy cow. What are you using to monitor temps? 30C is pretty high ambient so I would use a notebook cooler or just hit FN + 1 while gaming. You never want to get above 95C. Heck I get worried at 80C+... Constant 90+ temps can lower the life of your card.

Has anyone experienced any bluescreens with their 8150? I've so far experienced two and I can't locate the source. I think it has to do with either the graphics driver or card because the way the comp acted before crashing. I was playing Empire Total War and the screen flickered to black a few times then did a hard restart. The second time however, I was away from the computer and it looked like it did it on it's own. I've set it to go to sleep after 15 min of inactivity and the lid was shut but when I started it again, the boot option screen came up with the "Windows did not shut down properly" so I'm a little perplexed to say the least.

Got my Clevo P150HM yesterday :)

Ordered it from PC Konsulten here in Sweden, pretty good service (fast email response and friendly). It took a while (3 weeks) but I expected that, graphic cards were out and my screen upgrade took a while to get as well. Not dissapointed though, I knew these things take time :)

Specs are pretty standard expect for the screen and graphic card upgrade.

    Total: €1750

    Screen: 15" 1920*1080 - AUO B156HW01 V4 Matte
    Processor: I7 2630QM
    RAM: 8 GB DDR3 1333 MHZ (2x4GB) - Kingston
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon 6970M 2 GB
Hard drive: 500 GB 7200 rpm - Seagate Momentus
Optical Drive: DVD burner - Lite-on
    Network: Intel Centrino Ultimate 6300

    Thermal paste: Arctic MX-2

Very happy so far :) But now I need a new backpack, anyone got some good ideas?

    Hi folks,

I'm considering purchasing one of these babies tomorrow and I have a quick question.

What is the difference between the P150M and the P150M-S1?

    Thanks,

Most clevo/sager resellers often have an "S1" build which is a fixed configuration build but offers discounts over normal builds or the same machine. In this case, the p150hm-s1 is the p150hm but with a fixed configuration and a slightly reduced price tag. This sometimes happens when resellers have an excess of a certain part.
