Only the super high capacity brick that your reseller offers. Due to jamming so many amps down that cable it's best kept short for Vdroop and efficiency reasons.

Is it possible to modify the fan profiles somehow? This Custom mode in CCC sucks :p

How hard is it to replace the TN panel with a LP173WF4-SPF3 LGD04E8 screen? I found a good setup for just over 2K including tax but want to use the IPS panel used in the Asus ROG 702 as it does reproduce colours exceptionally well.

So long as the panel is compatible electrically and physically it's just removing the bezel, removing screws from the metal frame, pulling it forward and disconnecting the cable on the connector at the back. Then reversing that process.

where can I buy QHD panel, it has 120hz?
Which panel models match the P775TM? The same as for DM?

I asked on Ebay about UHD B173QTN01.4 but they said:

"...But if your old notebook resolution is 1920x1080 can't use QHD or UHD.
Many people say it use to your notebook but we not try it before.
If not compatible you can't adjust brightness."

    Is it true?

Typically moving from 1080p 60hz to a faster or higher resolution panel needs a different cable due to bandwidth requirements.

I think that's not the whole truth. What common has bandwidth to no possibility of changing the brightness?

And if it depends on the bandwidth, how my IPS 60hz FHD panel works fine on 100hz?
On previous P775DM1 FHD IPS panel was the same, 100hz no problem. I used it for 2 years without any problems.

So realy there is diffrent cable?

30 pin to 40 pin, 2 channel to 4 channel.

100hz does not equal 120hz with margin to ensure it works with all panels.

Nothing is ever the full truth, for that I would have to start getting into a discussion regarding LVDS channel signaling (which eDP still uses) channel interference causing a limit to in spec bandwidth, electrical compatibility and acceptable margins.

Over the head of most people usually ;)

So what cable is on P77TM IPS FHD panel? If I bought a laptop with 60hz IPS it has only 30pin socket and changing cable to 40 pin is not possible?

I don't currently have the part number to hand but contact your reseller, they should be able to sort you out. It is just a different cable you need. It requires a bit more work to replace than the panel.

The display signal cable was the reason why i bought my P775TM1 with a 1080p 120hz screen (already had B173QTN01.4 1440p panel waiting to be installed), so the screen upgrade was really easy (1440p and 1080p 120hz has the same cable).

I’m about to pull the trigger in buying a Clevo 17’3 inch with 8600K for €2005 from PCSpecialist.nl which seems to be a subsidiary of PCSpecialist.co.uk

Do they include the Prema bios? If not, which seller does or is Prema available to purchase from the developer?

4.7Ghz on all cores is a bit of a stretch (bearing in mind that was my 24/7 clock in the NP9873 on 4 cores).

I am so excited! My new laptop beast should arrive tomorrow. A huge thank you to Donald and HIDEvolution. He helped me through the whole process and everything went smoothly. I'd be happy to share a review or any info about my laptop once it comes in tomorrow and I have had a chance to get it all set up.
@Phoenix Could you please help me get set up with your magical cleaning of windows 10? Thank you!

I went to the Dream Machines website as they are a builder who can install Prema and Vprema bios... But what is the difference between the two?

Anyone has any experience with Poland based Dream Machines?

It's not cleaning Windows 10 but "Tuning" ;)

Just tag me once you get your machine

Once you get it, when you first run it and get the initial Windows 10 Setup Wizard, it will prompt you to connect to a Wireless Network, click on SKIP on the bottom right otherwise you will be forced to login with a Microsoft account which I strongly advice against.

Also, when it prompts you to enter a password, leave the blank for now as during our tweaking session, we will need to reboot a lot and that will just slow us down.

The moment you are in Windows, go ahead and do all the Windows updates which will take a long time, then download and install TeamViewer then run it, it will give you an ID/Password which you could pass on to me via a PM so I can connect to you.

Went to the dream machines website and they told me that they are currently out of stock and expect to be able to build a clevo with Prema somewhere half March. As I have no PC at the moment I am a little time constraint. So do I need Prema bios in order to overclock the 8600k or can I also OC and set vCore with the stock bios?

Set the limits high and see what offset you can get away with (every chip is different) once testing falls over raise the voltage a step or two higher.

K CPUS are overclock-able out of the box. Stock bios will work fine.

Prema's bios is for advanced features used by competitive overclocking and niche applications. Put it this way, if you don't know if you need it, you probably don't need it.

However buying from a Prema partner is still advised. Its like the ISO 9001 certification of the notebook boutiques

The basic version is that you can OC it but it doesn't hold as well without Prema. It really depends on what job the original company did and fan profiles are a wreck without Prema's magic most of times. Of course, some sellers employ a different software, but think about it this way, Prema is best, while Clevo stock is the least stable. At least in what I exp[erienced.

I bit the bullet and placed an order with GamingGuru (Dresden). The thing that pulled me over and do business with them was 1080p IPS Gsync monitor that I need for photography work and 512GB SSD for free. They also have it in stock and I can expect my new lappy at the end of next week.

It stocks an i5 8600K, GTX 1060, 16GB 2400Mhz RAM, 512GB SSD (WD Black NVMe) and 1TB Firecuda. I have a 500GB SSD (unused) in my previous build that I swap over and use for the OS.

I didn’t went for super duper thermal paste or delid (they do not offer it) as that is something I’ll do later on when I know the system a bit better and did some stress testing. The programs I use will not get the CPU nor GPU to constantly hit 100 percent load so I think I can settle at 4.2 to 4.7Ghz and see what it does before opening it up and apply Thermal Grizzly

I am glad that I found this topic before ordering my P775TM1-G from Eluktronics. I read almost all the comments to see what other people experienced. This is my first gaming laptop. I found out about Clevo&Sager not long ago, and digged deep into topics like this. Saw people are very pleased with their Clevo&Sager laptops. So...
I just received it 2 days ago. Laptop performs very well. I am still learning the useful settings like Undervolting etc. I undervolted my CPU for about -110Mv by using Throttlestop(Thanks for this website) and it never goes above 70C in heavy gaming.

I have a question to you guys. The GPU reaches to 90C in a demanding game(PUBG), I am not sure if it is causing thermal throttle, because I do not see an FPS drop. Only thing I could see is GPU speed goes down to 1660Mhz from 1850s. Temperatures reaching to these levels only in PUBG. It stays 89-90C, never goes above 90C though. I am maxing the fan speed in CCC. Do you have any other suggestions to keep the GPU at low 80s? I ordered cooling pad, I will see if it can drop it little bit...

Note: When I mentioned this to Eluktronics, they offered prepaid shipping and applying a more advanced thermal. But I am not sure about doing this as it will take the laptop away for a while...

A repaste of the heatsink with some IC diamond or other high performance compound could help.

Anyone got a recommendation for ram for these things? I am looking at 3200 kit from gskill, but don't want to pull the trigger if they require tuning (normally wouldn't bother me, but the pain I went through resetting the bios is deterring me). 8700k and 1080 in the 775

When it comes ro RAM chips, things can get dirty quickly

Please be adviced, I bought a lower speed lower performance RAM when I built my computer because it was fully compatible with the motherboard. Try to build what worked for other people before
