Hi.
I had exactly the same problem. For some reason some driver that comes with the newer xtu doesn't communicate with the CPU.
If you completely uninstall xtu and download this version that came with my older P170 laptop this should cure it.

Let me know how you get on.

Interesting it says on the Microsoft store.

Seems like you're having sort of the same issues I have. When running any stress test app the cores all downclock to 4GHz even though it's set to 4.7GHz. As soon as I stop the test they go back up to 4.7GHz. Though my P775TM1-G is still sitting on my table KIA, as I've not been able to source a box to ship it back to HIDevolution.

Finally received my p775 from Evoc today (with the I7 8086K) and I am completely blown away.
Despite my fears, the banding on the 4k display is practically non existent. Can't see it at all on movies (even dark scenes), and on a banding test I cant see it unless i'm in a dark room and look really hard. Its no worse than my p170 laptop and better than my microsoft surface pro 4. Thoroughly recommended.
See images.
P775 4k g-sync monitor
Microsoft surface pro 4
Sager P170sm-a
I can only assume there may have been a bad batch of displays.
I tried some intense video rendering using virtualdub. Although It only uses 2 cores its has some important functions not found on mainstream video software. On my old Sager P170sm-a with an I7-4900MQ overclocked to 4GHz I got 8 fps and temperatures were around 90-95 Degrees.
On my Evoc p775 the same rendering went up to 12 fps overclocked to 4.9 GHz and never exceeded 75 degrees!
I also tried screen capturing using OBS studio and capture was free from any jittering.
Buying from EVOC cost a little more but for the huge performance boost given by their delidding, repasting and Prema bios it was was worth every penny.
I feel better letting the professionals do it as if I were to make any mistakes with spilling thermal metal on the cpu or breaking the cpu while delidding it would be a very expensive mistake.
The intel xtu software works well as well.
I give this laptop 11 out of 10 !
Edit. It keeps getting better. Just found a setting in the nvidia display to choose custom resolutions. This is the first laptop I have ever had that allows me to run the display at 50Hz.
As most of my material is in the PAL standard I am watching super smooth video!Last edited: Jun 28, 2018Dennismungai, Porter, raz8020 and 3 others like this. -

OK, let me spell it out then (was hoping you realize it yourself without making it too obvious for everyone else):
Those 6 core '5.3Ghz' benches above are not holding those clocks at all if even an old 4 core can already beat/match them with only 4.9/5Ghz:
SkyDiver 6700K @ 4.9Ghz: https://www.3dmark.com/sd/4402881
TimeSpy 7700K 5Ghz: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/1956820
FireStrike 7700K @ 4.9Ghz: https://www.3dmark.com/fs/11124955
For comparison, this is an 8700K 6 core at only 5Ghz:
SkyDiver: https://www.3dmark.com/sd/4929492
TimeSpy (on a 2015 system): https://www.3dmark.com/spy/3766000
FireStrike: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/14517851
This is how a 6 core (8700K) result looks when running and actually holding 5.3Ghz:

Does anyone know how to get into the bios after installing windows. It worked before installation. I tried f2,f7,f12,del. nothing works. just boots into windows.
Thanks. -

The physics score for 3DM Fire Stike is well below what you should expect from an stock clocked 8700K/8086K. Aka more like 4.2GHz all cores.

@Prema
What about Premamod bios update to support "new" coffee-refresh https://hothardware.com/news/intel-9th-gen-core-coffee-lake-core-i5-9600k-confirmed ?sicily428 likes this. -

Testing would be required to ensure it all works of course.

Got my shipment ready, waiting for DHL to come pick it up. Hopefully it wont take long to get my system back from HID. I'll update you guys on what actually happened.

I'm actually thinking of getting my panel changed out when it's in service. I really can't stand the banding that is on 1440p screen and the scaling. G-Sync is also an importance for me and I also can't stand IPS glow. Does anyone know what panels are supported and G-Sync works?

Afraid he can't get it both ways. The 1080p 144hz IPS seems like a nice option if he hates banding so much, or he can opt for the 1440p 120Hz B173QTN01.4 at the sacrifice of G-sync. Or he can say screw it, sell his kidney and snag one of those overpriced Acer/Asus 4k 144Hz G-sync HDR monitors
Btw @m4gg0t the no Wifi after sleep problem is killing me lol. New drivers after new drivers and still the same.Donald@Paladin44 likes this. -

Edit: Looks like there is some variation between panels. The same panel in the Eurocom Q8 is 11ms g2g: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Euroc...0-QHD-Laptop-Review.313514.0.html#toc-displayLast edited: Jul 9, 2018raz8020 likes this. -
Well... after using G-Sync for so long, I notice all the tearing without. So it is kinda a requirement at this point. I really can't stand the banding on the QHD panel, I see it on everything. So i guess it is the 1080p panel then. It seems to be the fastest, but its kinda sad that to run 1080p on a GTX1080. Any opinions on the ISP glow?

I'm all for getting games to look better, but as a competitive player at times I also need to be able to see things clearly. I'm using my P670RG now as I wait patiently for the service of P775TM1-G, it has the LG IPS panel and things are too dark. I have to turn the brightness in BF1 to about 80% to be able to see and WoW also. Then it looks too washed out. Same thing with BFV Alpha and I'm going to be playing that a lot when it's out. Just want to make sure I have full knowledge of things so when i get it back I'm a happy camper. Fingers crossed.

Note a calibrated ICC profile will also lower max brightness.raz8020 likes this. -

A TN panel is going to ghost less and react faster which is important for competitive play.
