FYI. 8 MB replacement and 2 full system exchanges (single person) is the record for latest Alienware’s. All brand can slip out a lemon. But 10 is maybe too much :D

Firstly I will say a machine should usually not fail, especially in the fashion it did but unfortunately it can happen with any machine. If your income relies upon it you should have a backup device that at least gets you by no matter what you end up with.

Even those companies that spend millions upon their servers with redundancies run a duplicate copy on another site because no system is 100% reliable no matter what.

Well, luckily, DJing is more of a well paying hobby/hustle vs my livelihood. The gig I lost was one less Xmas gift for my wife so, what she doesn't know won't kill her...lol. I actually DO have a backup CPU but, I loaned THAT one in anticipation of my CPU coming in. I could have taken the one I loaned out back, but that would have taken money out of someone's pocket that could use it way more than I can so, it all worked out in the end. I understand you point however...it's the same idea as me backing up all of my music on separate hard drives in case one goes bad. That way, I don't lose any of my music.

I'll hopefully rec'v my RMA tomorrow and will have a replacement sooner than later. If not, I'll request a refund and order a new one from another reseller...December is a busy month for me.

:cool:Hindsight being what it is...I won't make the same mistake again. The thought of getting a lemon never crossed my mind. I have another gig this Friday, DJing at an event for the Governor, I most definitely will have 2 computers there...just in case.

    Right Donald ,
and i want to add some general suggestions.
The main difference are not just the resolutions but the color space and general performance. Hight 120/144/+++Hz with fast response and Gsync perform really better than standard 60Hz in gaming scenarios but unfortunately they have low color quality. In general close the 75% of the sRGB scale and a sort of 50% of the AdobeRGB scale. Of course for productivity as Photoshop or in general photography this is not good at all. Instead the 4k variant cover the 100% of both the color spaces.
The 4k monitor have also a big disadvantage that could be the "scaling factor". Not all the programs are updated for new high dpi and resolutions. This can make your work or productivity experience not exactly comfortable.
So if your intent is just play and really nothing else that concern good color space, I suggest a FullHD monitor with faster response possible , high Hz and Gsync.
Otherwise if you plane to use this laptop for multipurpose tasks, consider the 4k with Gsync variant.

If you go on https://www.notebookcheck.net/ you can find all the monitor reviews and you can understand how they can perform.

The problem is, none of them is selling in Europe. If I'd buy a Clevo right now, i wouldn't know how i could get my hands on one with Prema BIOS. And since i have a Prema-BIOS in my P751ZM i wouldn't want to have this "Downgrade". :(

No, you cannot. To get the Prema BIOS you have to buy your laptop from a Prema Partner.

My p775tm has arrived few days ago :) 1st part of my review:

First off great experience with prostar which highly recommend. Very good customer service and made sure id get laptop on time since needed someone to bring to me from states. They have the fastest rush shipping service i believe.

First impression. This thing is kinna big and heavy esp with its massive power brick together at 8.5 pounds. So not the most portable option but if performance is your highest priority its worth the trade off.

Second impression, this thing is beautiful! Every part screams quality. Look and feel is top notch easily beating any laptop ive ever owned and ive owned many. I happily discovered some extra io i missed on the website hehe. Fully loaded is good way to describe these clevos with all there io and features. Regarding the keyboard, The rgb lighting on it is eye candy and keys feel nice though id prefer if they were a little deeper and more spaced but im just spoiled by my lenevo on that front. Touch pad very responsive and nice click feels on the 2 buttons.

Battery is very easy to remove/insert with a slider. Hard drives, m.2, ram.. easily accessable by removing a few screws.

It came with a driver cd, booklet, pads and screws for extra hard drives. The booklet and cd could use some improvement. Says simply "notebook" on the front which doesnt look too professional and wish went more in depth in the booklet with things like the bios. Doesnt make sense that included is a driver cd when there is no cd tray in the laptop lol. No biggie though, copied them over to a usb from another computer and installed drivers one by one.

Now on to some of in usage experience. This thing is FAST! :D nothing like any of my laptops and feels even way faster than my old 6 core 1366 desktop. This really is a high performance desktop pc in laptop case. no compromises folks! On start up gets into windows in seconds. Everything is very snappy and quick from loading/installing programs to copying over files. I did not expect and have never experienced these kinds of speeds. Noise is very quite almost inaudable at idle and sits around a cool 35c in windows doing non intensive things. Got to test out sound and speakers btw. Very quality sound and loudd. Best laptop sound ive ever heard....ive only started to get to know this beast. curious to see what shes really capable of.

Will post more info and performance findings later. In meantime enjoy these pictures below of the beauty.

So do these things throttle without the Prema Bios? or did they finally remove some of that cancer throttling code?
How far can you push these things?

Thinking about investing in one of these beasts, but I need to know this first. How's thermal throttling? I'm not buying from a PREMA partner, I'll be getting mine barebones, and adding my own ram, HDD, and OS, so it would be ideal knowing that it runs fine with stock BIOS.

Darn Black Friday shipping rush had UPS delay my laptop. Been waiting for over a week.

One more day and I'll run a crazy amount of benchmarks and start tuning this beast. Also going to be fooling around with an 32GB Intel Optane chip and the 1440p 120hz g-sync display. Ooh I'm getting excited.

Anyone looking for anything specific, I'll do my best over the next few days to give everyone the scoop.

You undervolted it to -100 using Clevo Control Center, and that was stable and enough to run at full stock speed (3.7 Ghz to 4.7 Ghz) right?

UPS guy decided to pick my house as his first stop... good guy UPS made up for the delay!

Initial impressions, other then the large amount of plastic which is of good quality (used to my AW15 with some metal) the laptop is beautiful. Thank you @Eurocom Support. Guys do some good work and I got the laptop in 8 business days.
Plain awesome, Dell took over 10 business days.

Now I'm just installing my M.2's and trying to get Optane to work!
Trying to figure out how to pop the keyboard off :p

EDIT: Secondary M.2 is not under the keyboard. Godbless. I'm blind as a bat.

Think best now not undervolt with ccc or bios. Uninstalled ccc, reset bios, Just tested few times to confirm proper undervolt -100 with throttlestop got me max 75c on userbenchmark
    Undervolt with -125 max 72c :D

Might be able to undervolt even more will check later.

Tested also with prime95-the most cpu intensive benchmark not very real world loads. Was a little hestitant and afraid would fry after reading people getting over 100c with dm3 model. But surprisingly it held up! With the - 125 undervolt, after 2 minutes of testing Max 83c on one of the cores. Below is the max temps on prime 95 test 2 min test

    uploadphotos

So im thrilled to say i think this beast helds up quite well and has no problem cooling this cpu with undervolt. If was delidded im sure you could safely overclock it.

Regarding gpu during userbench max got was 56c but its only a 1060. My system is not best to check how well can cool the gpu better wait for someone with higher model. Imma run 3d mark soon and post results

    Cheers!

    Just did
Auto fans, no throttling. Cpu hit max 80c gpu 65c
    Stock clocks, -150 undervolt

I repeat with undervolt this system is stable under full load :D

This system again stock paste, if upgrade my tim will prob get couple degrees better. if delidded overclockable... p775tm1 highly recommended!

    Up and running.

Second impressions-- the system is a beast.
Can't wait to really start tuning.

She was hitting 4.7 no problem, but I locked her down to 4.3Ghz with a -100 undervolt. Got a max temp of 84C while playing PUBG.The real issue is the GTX1080 is cooking... 91C Max. Whoa. Thank goodness for the 3 year warranty cause if I can't get those lower, she's going fry.

First game in 2 weeks 3 kills and 2nd place. The circle was huge and I didn't notice I killed third place. All i hear is a shot in the distance and my head goes clean off by a Kar98. Lol. GG.

Conductonaut and pads on the way. 5Ghz here we come.

EDIT: Why would my under volt not stick? Keeps on going to 0 in BIOS and XTU.
2ND EDIT: I think its working in ThrottleStop.

His 1060 model won't throttle due to low system power draw. As usual 1060/1070 will be fine on P7 as well as single 1080 on P8 (as long as they use their default vBIOS power limits). It's 1080 on P7 and 1080 SLI on P8 where you take the hit and getting capped at one point.
The TM firmware will now also detect AIDA and make sure its all looking bueno. Better use FS bench and check the CPU Frequency graph and GPU score (If the GPU overheats it'll drop its clocks and power draw so low that the CPU will look fine again, so both have to keep running up there to get accurate results). ;)

Would you recommend the second power brick?Wouldn't I reach the thermal limits of the P7 beforehand?

I would like to be able to undervolt the GPU a bit.
Since it seems to be cooking eggs at 91C right now and I'm not even going crazy.

We will see what liquid metal brings, but I'm not exactly expecting miracles.

A second AC Adapter won't do anything as the default P7 firmware won't allow you to pull more from mains.

But, I would definitely re-apply the thermal paste on the GPU, it shouldn't get that hot as clocks are dropping into the 1K region once it hits 90c. No need for Liquid Metal just some decently applied ICD should do the trick.

Prema, does the Clevo throttle the CPU or the videocard when it reaches AC power restrictions?

There is no AC limit like on MSI, but a total power draw limit. The GPU throttles on its own, the system in addition drops the CPU clocks to keep the total combined power draw down.

Heres video testing noise inside a closet. As you can hear during idle and low loads it is barely audable. With max fans turned on it is loud. Quite louder than even during my benchmark testings. i dont think you would need fans running near that high unless perhaps u got stock system with a 1080 which as jumpwired pointed out runs quite hotter than my 1060 system.
