I was referring to the latest msi gt75 titan, which is single card and about the same size as a 775.

Nope. It's single card, yes, but it's still the same size as the older 2018 SLI 1070 GT75 Titans. They just only put in one card instead of 2. Even the 870 is only coming out with a single 2080 for now. To be fair, the 775 is on the larger side, but the GT75 is even bigger and is still more comparable to the 870.

Either way the 775 I ended up going with should outperform the gt75 titan. Hopefully

Why would the clocks be high in 2d desktop mode? 800-1200mhz = idle clocks once there is no load on the system.

The results look good to me , no thermal throttling and the graphics score is on point. CPU does seem low for a 9700K, that should be doing way higher than 16K in firestrike physics

That makes sense, it made it look as if it was.

That must be some sort of power saving feature? Mine stay at the set multiplier in desktop mode.

Yes, I can go to Clevo with any questions, thanks? I was simply pointing out about idle clocks being the minimum. I don't need to ask them about that.

It's standard Intel behaviour on laptops to servers to downclock at idle. If yours is not then it has C-states disabled. This can make dialling in an exact voltage easier but also wastes power at idle.

Every stock 9700k firestrike physics run out there, this thing should be doing around 20K. 16K is mobile 8750H territory.

Well I had a p775 with a 9700K last year and it would hit around 20K. I’m not sure what MCE is.

Multi core enhancement - forces the entire cpu to run overclocked at single core turbo beyond the all-core turbo multipler and power limits.

MCE existed before this, but a lot of reviewers were caught by this being on by default when first reviewing the 8700K, and was the main thing that led to a wide spread of results across launch reviews (e.g. between ~1250 and ~1600 in cinebench)

    Explanation here and chart @2:00:

Really itching on ordering a P775TM with 9700k and RTX 2080.

How good is the stock bios?
Did Clevo step on at it's game and did they improve their bios quality or it is still unacceptable garbage and a Prema bios is mandatory ?

Just asking because my only source to buy this laptop is still not a Prema partner :/

My retailer wasn't a partner either.

I had issues with the stock "unlocked bios", as whenever the cpu pulled more than 118w, it would throttle.
After updating the EC & Bios i was no longer not gimped by some cancer code behind the scenes and able to push the cpu.

But options wise, the bios is sorta primitive. It lets you set core multiplier, power limits, and some voltages. To set cache multiplier you have to use XTU.

My P775 arrived with the 9900K and RTX2080, here is my first benchmark. I’m impressed. GPU temps stayed in the upper 60s and CPU stayed below 85C.

Does anyone else has this laptop, maybe with a 9700k?
Any more results about temp ?
Is it a throttling mess or is it fine ?

I have my mouse on the place order button but concerned about temps and not many sources to check this :/
