So Donald, just to clarify: all customers that bought the "3k" monitor (B173QTN01.0/B173QTN01.4) with the 2080 currently cannot use Gsync at the moment, but you all are working on a fix and once it is resolved, you will reach out to HIDevo customers and offer the fix? Do you see this being a BIOS update from Prema? Will there be a charge for this or just an update you will offer?

I only ask because the B173QTN01.4 monitor is offered by only a handful of retailers, and one of my most highly anticipated features, imo. And would love for it to have gsync! Especially since it was still rated for g-sync when I did order.

    So I have the new Clevo P775TM1-G with a 2080 and 9700K.

Can anyone advise on mods/advice for getting better cooling?

Also, a guide to getting the most out the chip for everyday use and then for benching too?

Also, there was a guy that had some great tutorials on win 10, and macrium reflect and some other stuff. I think that user changed their nick. Can anyone point me to those threads?

Also, anyone wants to chuck general advice at me for this machine, I'd appreciate that too.

    Cheers.

Look after Ultra Male. And you find the tweaks threads in here http://forum.notebookreview.com/forums/windows-os-and-software.15/

Maybe take a look into ThrottleStop guide thread as well. A good option whatever you have Prema Mod firmware or not.

Has anyone checked out the temps on Jarrod's Tech video of the Metabox Prime-X P775TM-G?

Is this what we can expect? Or can we expect some more?

Sorry if it's not supposed to be here but I just don't find a thread for P775TM with RTX and 9th gen CPU. @Ultra Male I thought you started one???

We have publicate benchmarks for P775TM1-G. But what I see on this video temperatures with stock settings is better than with undervolting. Thats right or I'm wrong?

B173QTN01.4 has never been G-Sync Certified, and probably never will be.

We haven not offered the 3K or 4K screens with G-Sync on our website since we discovered this issue. We apologize to you, and others, who purchased before we discovered the issue.

If we can get the B173QTN01.0 and 4K screens to work with G-Sync, we will reach out to our customers with the resolution, and apply it remotely if possible, at no cost.

I have a question hopefully someone can answer.

I've recently updated the bios on my machine, since my older bios had a throttle cap around 119w. The latest clevo bios, 1.07.15 has a forced -100mV undervolt, no matter what I set the bios setting to.
Furthermore, the override voltage doesn't seem to work as the voltages are all over the place, even though windows 10 is set to 'ultimate power' mode and holds 5ghz all times.

The Bios thread noted that downgrading a bios my brick the laptop, is this true? Is there a way to edit the bios to remove the forced undervolt and make it possible to set an override voltage that would hold?

I've noticed that the PCH temps are around 90c after some time gaming, and even BSOD's some times, and that worries me.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe try installing a newer BIOS.
I have BIOS 1.07.18 and it had -100 mV undervolt by default, but if I changed it then the new value got stored after reboot. This is true to both Adaptive and Override settings.
Try 1.07.18, maybe what you are experiencing is just a bug in 1.07.15.

An interesting find with a 75 hz LG screen for p775. I do not know whether it was discussed or not, but if I set it to custom 60 hz instead of 75 hz through the nvidia control panel, the windows display settings shows 8 bits per channel output instead of the factory 6 bits! But I have nothing to check the quality of the curves. Any thoughts?

I must have saw the B173QTN01.4 listed incorrectly showing the g-sync capability.

So then knowing this: I am still waiting on my system, and HID is waiting on more B173QTN01.4 screens to come in.

Should I wait for the B173QTN01.4 screens and not use g-sync but also avoid the banding issues on the B173QTN01.0 screen OR
Switch to the B173QTN01.0 screen and get my laptop sooner, and possibly have banding issues, but also possibly get g-sync compatibility down the road?

    decisions decisions

I haven't seen the 1.0 screens in person to compare or see "how bad" is the banding. Of course I definitely think that it's the type of thing that depends largely on the person, some people barely notice and for others it's horrible. I looked at a lot of pics on various forums and stuff and made my best decision based on how I imagined the banding would look up close. Shrug.

Anyway that said I chose to go with the 1.4 on mine. I'm not the best critic but I love my screen. I don't regret it. I don't think the lack of g-sync is anywhere near as important as being happy with the quality of what you're staring at for hours at a time.

The same as before by mysn for p870tm1-g totally crap bios or bios for P751TM1-G and P775TM1-G version 13 - so long as officially is nothing - don't flash. Everything you can find on our server. We check everyday and we tested self if is good or not. So.. When you see TR2 than is totally crappies :)

Can anyone recommend me a backpack for this laptop for this laptop?
I have a Targus backpack which I used to carry around my older 17" laptops and this Clevo also fits but it is pretty tight. I want a bigger bag where the edges are more secured .
AW Vidicator 17 2.0 would be good or that would be pretty tight too?

I have researched quite a few backpacks because I wanted to make sure they would fit the laptop. I ended up ordering the Lenovo Legion Armored 17 inch Backpack, and so far I love it, only problem is, I cannot verify whether it comfortably fits this computer or not until Monday. When I get my pc monday, Ill let you know.

But, while I was researching, these are the ones I was deciding between:
Vindicator 2.0 (as you suggested but I didn't want to travel a lot through airports promoting I have expensive things on me) Also, this one has the smallest laptop compartment out of these 4 but still ideally should fit it.

Mobile Edge ME-AWBP2.0: Another Alienware, but with a larger spot for laptops, more storage in general and TSA friendly at a cheaper cost

Everki Titan: This one is a HUGE jump in price but, it has phenomenal reviews no mater where you look, it has the most storage, and TSA friendly.

Looking online, most places show the dimensions of the bag, but some sites will also give you the dimensions of the laptop storage compartment specifically. Amazon was one that showed all dimensions. All of these that I listed have compartments that will fit these laptops. I'd start there.

Does anyone have any idea what does the release notes mean? :D

    update:
I tested it, yea it is some weird custom bios with custom microcode. I set the cpu at 4.5 Ghz, then runned Cinebench and the CPU dropped down to 1.6 Ghz during the run.
    I rolled back to 1.07.20.
