    As a quick update:
the Lenovo Y Legion Armored Backpack fits this laptop beautifully! I am extremely happy with this bag and at the price, I'm not complaining. Just keep in mind, if you want an excessive amount of space for extra peripherals, you'll have to get the titan. But with this backpack, I can comfortably fit: P775tm1-g with the power brick + my 14" work laptop and the power brick + nintendo switch + headphones + mouse + mousepad + extra harddrives, cables, usbs etc.

How so? I've properly uninstalled the old CCC and installed the new one, doesn't run. Loads then quits.

Bios 1.05? Wtf? Coffee lake is compatible from 1.13 and latest one is 1.20 :) so this is your issue - CC 2.0.65 is not compatible with old bios. Why you don't download from our server? You must update first EC's than BIOS https://clevo-computer.com/hilfe-support

What temps should a cinebench r15 pull produce on 5ghz at room temps?

I noticed that my copper ihs doesn't have a perfect fit with the heatsink (light test bleed). That got me wondering whether a delided unsealed 8086k with LM might be suspect to worse thermal performance.

I saw the video mrfox soldering a copper shim to improve contact.

    Anyone got advice/experience?

So i'm now also an owner of the P775TM1-G and i got it from Kiebel in germany. I noticed that i'm getting power limited on my RTX 2080@150W (vbios version is 90.04.3b.00.7a) with a lot of headroom temperature-wise. Is there a way to flash a higher wattage vbios (like 180W) and can i flash any bios (cross vendor - my version is 1.07.20 for now) posted here? Or is there a way to undervolt the gpu? MSI Afterburner is only showing me the possibility to increase vcore...

I hope you awesome guys can help me on those two topics, kind regards.

Are you using the curve in afterburner rather than offsets and looking at Mr. Fox's guide?

Curious if anyone knows how easy it is to install m.2 NVME drives on the newer P775TM-R? I am looking at getting one through either HID or LPC but the cost of buying the drives from them are just ridiculous compared to just buying them separately and installing them if easy enough to just remove the back panel and not have to deal with anything else internally. Would save almost 30-40% in cost which would be a big deal to me since my current build wishlist is between $3-4k.

Also, is the 4k screen IPS level or what is the sRGB rating? Can't seem to find that info listed and need the most accurate screen even if I stay with the 1080 for photo/video editing.

Remove the bottom cover screws, unclip the bottom cover, unscrew the m.2 retaining screw, place the drive in the slot at a 45 degree angle and then push down so the notch aligns with the post. Put the screw in, not much pressure needed to hold it in place. Reassemble the bottom cover.

Found his video on Youtube ;-)
After watching his video I understand the method. Just a last question: If I'm running the OC-Scanner of Afterburner and scan for the V-Curve should i run max fans on the scan or just auto fans? Because the last point of the automatic test states "Fan speed 1"...

I've recently changed the thermal pad on the chipset (pch), the stock one was getting 90-95c and thermal shutdowns. Gp-extreme helped with reducing temps, however they are still 85c.

I've also added a bunch of small copper heatsink elements to the gpu block, in hopes for reducing temps by increasing the surface area, as its a flat block. However, I can already tell there needs to be some air flowing to the gpu for this to have any effect.

Does anyone have any recommendations for cooling pads for this machine?

    I looked at this, https://www.computersalg.dk/i/1120184/modecom-silent-fan-mc-cf15-43-2-cm

I did something to that extent, took the back cover off, and have a book lifting up the back for it to breathe. I have some older ultrathin coolers that I thought could fit inside near the graphics card and circulate some air on the power delivery.

Has anyone done a shunt mod on their clevo/schenker 1080?
I had a look at the RS1/2/3 and they don't seem as if having LM applied to the top of them would have any effect?

You have to do it at the sides, I'd avoid using liquid metal as due to the small amount of solder it tends to eat it causing failure.

Thought only updated BIOS is required for 9th gen on Z370, no pin mod needed.

Well, I think after tons of research I will be joining the Clevo 775 build club this next week. Going with a build from HIDevolution after a lot of talks with Donald who has been great at providing information on all my questions and their warehouse is 20 minutes from me which is a plus.
Landed on a middle of the road setup for cost/cooling purposes. Going with the 4k screen, i7-9700k, RTX2070, 32gb premium Ram, Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut on CPU + GPU, and Fujipoly Extreme Thermal Pads, just doing a normal HDD drive for OS from them as I can get the NVME drives cheaper on my own and just install those easily (which I will be doing a 512gb Samsung pro for OS and a 1TB one for active editing files, then switch the HDD over to just storage), and just sticking with WIN 10 Home as I don't need the Pro business features.

Pretty excited about this though as I have has the same laptop for 13 years now!!! LOL, so MAJOR upgrade for me at the moment, and will almost be as strong as my desktop.

Have you done some research on shunt modding? I just ask as it's not something to be done lightly.

Due to the balance of power yes you would need to mod it.

For the gpu. For example, a laptop RTX 2060 is rated at 80-90w so its clock speeds are much lower than the desktop version. Does this laptop give the gpu more power alike to the desktop version, allowing for more comparable clocks to the desktop 2060?

Yes, I've seen & read der8auer/gamer nexus content on this and I'm adding additional cooling and keeping an eye on it. I appreciate your wording in that :)

Doing this mod with a removable silver paint, so that I have a chance to remove it should problems arise.

What are your thoughts when going into such a mod?

Edit: I took a deep dive in the forum archives, and from what I've gathered the shunt mod helps a little, but a modded vbios is the way to go.

Just received the P775-TM1-G today and so far, it's good system, but I have a question, hopefully one might know. Concerning the keyboard, I was able to navigate the new Clevo Control Center and find the keyboard LED section, to change the colors and I saw a section for keyboard sleep, where the key's lights turn off after a certain amount of time. I tried to disable it, but that didn't work and so then I set the sleep for about 15 minutes, but I see that the lights still turn off, which overall can be annoying in a dimly lit room, not being able to see the keys.

Anyone experience this and furthermore, any idea how to fix it?

    Thanks.

You can try uninstalling CCC and using obsidian software to control keyboard led, it's free last I checked.

I installed the Obsidian version of keyboardLED on my old system, and to be honest and frank, I got annoyed that every time I restarted my system, I kept getting a message on the screen to allow the keyboard LED application to run, so i would have to click ok and then confirm administrator privileges to allow it to run. It seemed to work ok, but for whatever reason, the color white was not in my keyboard's vocabulary, so maybe the keyboard wasn't capable or the application couldn't display it. With my new rig, I can get white, which is a welcome sight to someone with bad eyes, but the keyboard sleep timer not taking hold is the only annoying aspect to the control center right now.

You can check in the application properties and make it run in admin mode all the time. No more prompts.
White is a tough color to reproduce on RGB keyboards. You either get some blue-ish or pink-ish hue, always. Unless it has dedicated white LEDs.

Got a nice deal on a used but mint P775TM1-G. Delidded 8700K, GTX1080.
I quite like it. Solid performance and build. It can get quite noisy tho...

CPU temps are well under check. It's the 1080 that gets hot. Any hints on how to lower them a bit?
Is the toothpick mod still a thing (on the GPU heatsink retention arms)? Is it worth it with regular thermal paste? Not looking into LM.
Any particular type of thermal paste that can have results in this particular heatsink assembly? I think I have kryonaut on there rn.

I used a 0.5mm lapped copper shim between gpu die and the heatsink, and added low heigh copper heatsinks onto the gpu plate to increase the surface area the heat can disapspate off. This helped somewhat, but if you want low temps you can use Afterburner and lock the voltage to something akin of 0.923mV. MrFox has a great guide on that.

    Thanks.
Mr.Fox's video is really helpful and I've been trying some stuff out.

Following the tutorial I just get the GPU pinned at full boost and 950mV all the time. I use the Optimal Setting in Nvidia's Control Panel so I can have a little bit more battery when needed and a more silent machine when doing very light tasks.
Tried unchecking "Force Constant Voltage" in Afterburner to no avail.

    *EDIT
Figured it out, he says in the video to press L after setting the max voltage, that's probably a L for Lock I guess because not pressing it makes the voltages remain in adaptive. I got a solid -6/8C drop. Nice!
Any particular downside to running it this way (adaptive) in regards to undervolting via MSI Afterburner?

Unless you are cutting the bottom case and sticking large fans below I'd remove those stick on heatsinks as the only thing they will do is come loose and damage something.

    That's unfortunate.

What type of heatsink did you use and experienced this with? Were they used with thermal glue or a double sided adhesive pad?
