Is there a new BIOS? I'm on 1.07.EVOC2

The CMOS battery or the big battery? I have no idea where the CMOS battery it.

I'm really scratching my head, I've never had this issue with any other desktop or laptop.

CMOS battery is located under the keyboard. You need to remove KB to access. Shut down first. Then clear the bios using FN+D and then press power button. Hold FN+D until you see bios default massage.

Anyway check the event log for any flags just before the shut down.

Guys what's the easiest way to get to the touchpad when disassembling a P775TM?
I spilled a very tiny amount of beer on mine and want to clean it properly. Everything else is fine, it was really a very small amount. I used some WD-40 but I'm getting some misclicks on the left button.

Yeah it was the first thing I checked. Thanks for the help anyway.
It really doesn't go into any detail over removing the touchpad.
Can I get the top cover off, or do I need to do a complete disassembly, remove the motherboard and get at it from bellow?

I still can't seem to solve the Kernel Power 41 issue.

There's this other issues as well where the power limits would change from what I set in BIOS while playing BFV which is really annoying in game when clocks go to 3.7GHz and FPS goes down. I have it set in BIOS to 200W but it would change to 66W and 166W.

Mate I went through the exact same issue. CCC uninstall not fix it. You will need to do full bios reset (before OS install) and then do a clean install. Do not install CCC even without XTU it can mess up.

If I set PL1 to 95W, during BF5 my PL1 will drop to around 32W. If i set to 120W then itll drop to 40W. 200W to 66W....so on. You need full restart to get back what you set in Bios.

I did every possible thing including what Prema recommended. Nothing fix the issue until i did full bios reset and OS reinstall.

Omfg lol. I don't want to reinstall again... I was thinking about buying a 1tb 970 Pro, so I'll do it then. Never had an issue with CCC till recently and there's no app that controls keyboard light and other stuff like CCC except Obsidian. Only reason for CCC is keyboard lights and the OSD for when you use the fn + X notifications. Why can't they make a proper app...

I think you remember I was having exactly same issue 2 weeks ago. I posted about it on this thread.

Anyway why do you need 970Pro? unless you're doing lots of writing I'd go with 970 Evo or Corsair MP510 (higher endurance rating than 970Pro)

Mate, just got the same thing. The laptop was off, when I came back after 15 or so minutes. The funny part I never had the issue, before reinstalling Windows and updating my BIOS yesterday. Although, I was having another problem, which seems to be a very popular one - Standby memory overflow. I thought a clean install would solve it, but, apparently, no. So, maybe the problem with shutdown is on the Windows side as well?

    Hi .

I am considering buying the p775tm1

I would like to know if the maximum Ram on the p775tm1 is 64 gb (16x4) or 128 gb (32x4) supporting 32gb modules on the 4 slots?

i9 9900k + rtx 2080 is stable in terms of temps and stability , voltage etc...?

Bios update is made with dos command or via software integrated on the bios ?

    Thanks

I think it's a windows thing with a bios thing. I could be wrong.

I'm probably going for the 970 EVO Plus, since the Corsair MP510 is not available on Amazon DE

Is there any special way I should go about installing windows 10 to avoid any of these issues a 3rd time?

I'm also trying to source a new keyboard and I send a email to XMG but I have not heard back from them.

All I did was resetting bios and then reconfigure the setting the way I want and install the OS. Avoid installing CCC. Also get the Corsair MP510 directly from Corsair online shop. Slightly cheaper too. Or get it from any reputable EU seller.

Any particular reason why to get the corsair over the samsung besides the endurance and price? I much prefer having all my drives from samsung.

I don't get it. Clean install of Windows with only the drivers that windows installs and I'm still getting the shut downs. This leads me to think it's a battery or power supply issue.

I'm thinking it could be a battery thing as my battery indicator light is orange now but I know the battery is fully charged. How would that affect it when it's plugged in most of the TIME? I remember seeing the battery ware level in hwinfo around 5 or 6%.

Update to my overheating problem after a hot summer:

As the LM application was alright, I think it was a combination of fans being clogged up with dust + cat hair and ambient temperature. I removed the cat hair and elevated the back of the laptop a little to increase airflow, which helped. Temperatures remained higher than usual, though. I was especially surprised with the huge difference ambient temperature makes. With an ambient temperature back to around 20°C I'm running my gtx1080 and 8700K at a comfortable 70°C, while at 25°C and above especially the GPU is quickly jumping to 80°C and even 90°C.

That's why I'm not allowing our cat to my office room. Even then I'll see cat hair once in a while. So every day I clean the table I use to make sure nothing will suck into fans.

Have you tried my method, which I wrote to you before? Also, I have a 960 evo and that is a hot beast, but it still manages to go well with windows usage. Under load, CPU fan might ramp up, if you, let's say, uncompress files, so it cools down the drive with that.

There is no screen saver, of course, i was talking about screen going off after 15 minutes by default in windows (or 30 if it was high performance profile). You just have to turn the option off entirely and it should help you. You can turn the screen off yourself by doing Fn+F2 combination.
