Anyone ever had any issues with running on only the ac adapter, without the battery inserted?
I can run without the battery (remove battery after booting), but I can’t boot without the battery.

Are you running stock?

Even with an OC it shouldn't make a difference. AFAIK only MSI stuff pulls additional amps from battery.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.
-
Nope.Dell as well. They adopted MSI's fantastic battery boost tech in early 2015. Named Hybrid Boost.

How does this affect battery life in the long run?Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this.
-
Battery boost will provide multiple charge cycles. And not all notebooks have proper implemented charge maintenance (start charge from specific low and cap at 90% etc to keep best longivity). The battery will be killed before it has to. Notinng more tha a Flawed design @Falkentyne
From what I remember... The cable from the battery to MB in some of the AW BGA books burned up due the flawed design.Falkentyne and jc_denton like this. -
What is it with AW and fire? Anyway, the battery dying off sooner than normal is not a great trade off. I've ran both p8/p7 without the battery so I expected the same would apply to other DTRs.Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this.

The Liteon 330W bricks seem built solid, is the same true for the Delta ones?
Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
All depends on how much money the ODM want put into the PSU. Pay less... Then get less. I'm not 100% sure PSU warranty above minimum will be covered if you paid for extended warranty for the machine.

LiteON is beefy, it soldiers on and never complains. Delta, I have no experience with.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Hello guys,I m gonig to ask you, i want to buy clevo P775tm1 2nd hand 17.3 fullhd 144hz I7 8700K 4.70ghz 32G ram ddr4 et 512G ssd et 1tb et Nvidia rtx 2070 8G almost 180$ .
so what do you thinking please your opinions is very important to for me. -

The 330W Delta supplies I have torn down have shown no signs of poor design.

Still a great performing system. $1800 may be at the high end of the resale spectrum, but it's not an exorbitant price for the configuration. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Certainly on the premium end, you need to have plans at that price on stuff you intend to do with it. -
I'm going to need a second brick for the P775TM1, since I took it for the P870. LiteON has served well, and proved itself.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
For balance reasons do try and get the same brand of brick for the 2nd one.
-
Its not for running 2x 330w, but a new brick for the P775, since I used that psu for the P870.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.

The LiteOn should be fine.

So, I checked recently, and it seems that I still got that weird glitch with automatic EC profile for fans. So, basically it ignores the temperature changes sometimes and doesn't ramp up the fans. So GPU can get as hot as 90 degrees and it just throttles down and fan is sitting still. I use custom profile in CCC which I don't really want to use as a software piece, but I have to, since I don't want to burn my GPU to a crisp. I'm using the latest BIOS and EC from XMG, but it doesn't help with the issue it seems. Any suggestions?
-
People have good things to say about Obsidian fan control, I personally really dislike CCC and never use it. If you plan on uninstalling it, make sure to clear the cmos as CCC limits max fans to 80% of actual max RPM.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.
-
Thanks for the tip, didn't know that. I know the Obsidian, or, more likely, John's software, I use Updater, but I didn't buy Fan control since default fans were good enough for me, really. But it doesn't matter which software, CCC or Fan control, in "Automatic EC" mode they both produce the same result (since I assume the profile is stored inside EC chip). So, it probably needs a reinstall in firmware or smth. But, since updates didn't do anything, maybe there is another solution to it?
-
Their fan control allows for custom RPM profiles for different temps and ramping, making it a less noticeable noise experience when load is pushed.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this.
-
I know all about it, I just need to find the solution for current issue. What if it will affect the work of fans in the future? I want to make it like so in case it drops back to default, I'll not be left with a dead laptop.
-
I wonder how the support will be for EOL models. As well read @Donald@HIDevolution’s post http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...cpu-running-small.832715/page-3#post-11008718jc_denton likes this.

Supporting universal software is a pretty mammoth task, I am surprised it's not released by model.

hi, will my 8700k processor still be available when i install bios update?

I want to upload: 1.07.28 -

Current versions of CCC do not work, and older versions do not support GPU. The OEM brand cannot provide good enough support.
I think that when I update the bios, the brand will change, so better software will work. -
XTU and Afterburner work fine for OC, if you need to adjust fan curves look into Obsidian software.Spartan@HIDevolution and easace like this.

Is there any chance to get fully working Realtek Audio Panel + Creative Sound Blaster on windows 2004 without Windows Store and UWP apps? Tried install tons of them and it seem doesn't working at all...

How much can a used P775TM with rtx 2080 cost?

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Check out the members market.

Ok, I will post my laptop there
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
You can look at listings in the past for price as well.
-
The 2080 alone should be easy enough to sell
Complete system might take bit longer, as you're waiting for the right buyer.
