Are you using a dual GPU, if not then stutter is due to PUBG itself, many including me are reporting over this issue, only the 1050ti and 1080ti are handling this games well, means its either driver issue or game issue,

If you are using dual GPU, you should get another 330w brick or a single 780w brick..

I think its a combination of Windows 10 and PUBG being horribly optimized. I did change my power settings in the NVIDIA settings. I'll keep on monitoring it and report back.

    hi!

the paper clip trick works perfectly, but after many tries I have figured that you need to add 1 more clip to each side after you pressure out the first two, screw it with 2 clips first then unscrew and add 2 more. works like a charm every time. that will give you 100% contact any time.

though the toothpick trick failed to really give any good result! there is something blocking the contact of HS to CPU's IHS on p870xx and p775dm3, so the only thing that is really working on the CPU Is to add a 0.5mm shim, sticking it to the HS with LM or soldiering it like @Mr. Fox did.

    sure you do... [IMG]

On a serious note, try an NVRAM reset:

To perform a soft NVRAM Reset without having to open the laptop and remove the CMOS battery:

Hold FN + D + Power button for 5 seconds, then keep the FN + D keys pressed and release the Power key, after 30 seconds, you should see the NVRAM reset message on your screen.

Our machines will now be shipping with a higher stock clock as standard on the GPU :)

Exact clocks will vary on which GPU so see our listings for details.

Another 7 hour repasting session. Still couldn't get LM to temps to stick. Used the paper clip mod. 4th try now, I think I'm psyching myself out or just jaded at this point.

Only had successful temps with Gelid this time. I now have a max temp of 83C playing intensively for 2 hours at 1440p ultra with an OC of +178 on gpu and +720 memory.

I'm not too impressed with my firestrike score...

Little help here, my dad needs my laptop tomorrow for a meeting, and wants it to last 4hrs!!
Only thing it will be running is some pdfs on a projector
    Specs p775tm1 g
    1080p 17.3in
    Gtx 1060
    16gb gskill ram
    I5 8600k

So anyone here can post me some tweaks so that the cpu just runs at 4cores 4threads at 1.5-2 ghz stable,
How do i do it? Through bios?

And also how do i switch to igpu intel hd 630, beacause whatever you do a geforce gtx card eata more battery then a intel igpu,

4 hours? Why not use the AC Adapter? You need battery?

Use throttlestop, enable speedshift, set min and max to 8 in the speedshift section of the TPL window.

Alternatively, you could set SST to 255, set min to 8 and max to 16, this should (maybe) make it run at 800 mhz at idle and 1600 mhz at full load. You will have to experiment with how that CPU interacts with speedshift. I don't own a clevo so what I can tell you is ilmited.

ThrottleStop like what @Falkentyne stated. Underclock to whatever you want, but at least stress test with Cinebench to see if the system is stable. Primer material is here. Full guide/thread is here.
4 hours on that P775TM1 is going to be one hell of a stretch with just ThrottleStop alone. You probably need to have things like Air Plane mode enabled, low brightness, passive cooling, etc...
High end Clevo systems do not use Intel iGPU. It's flat out disabled. Optimus technology is known to mess with the gaming experience, and Clevo was aware that their machines are often used to play games on.

Take another notebook with no dGpu.
Or bring another notebook so 2 of them in total.
Its a bit overkill to do presentation on 8600K and a gtx1060 (that a tablet can do).
There is nothing to do on a system that idle at 16W(11W cpu and 5W gpu) without doing nothing, besides already mentioned tweaks (winPowerProfile is enough).

    [rant mode /on]
I build only last week 5 system and you know all.. so why are you asking for everything?
The first system assembled by me was on Christmas "98 with an AMD k6-2 350 (Oc by me to 400 by fsb pin on MoBo), and I'm still here to learn becasue I'm learned to be a sysAdmn. not an engineer or sw programmer/developer, but the list of "skills" in IT is nearly infinite..

After that post you gone to my ignore list and I'm proud to say it in public.

I'm no one here to help you with your attitude, so goodbye little ineducated kid.

There is no way to use Intel graphics on that machine. It is not designed for that type of purpose. It's designed for performance, not battery life. Intel graphics functionality is disabled.

Would anyone have information about the LP173WF4-SPF5 LCD panel that is in the new P775TM1? In my current DM1 is LP173WF4-SPF1 and turns up to 100hz with no visible defects, it's amazing. What are the differences between the new SPF5 and SPF1 versions?

I also recommend using a different device. Even with maximum power savings, undervolt, underclock, etc I was never able to get that level of battery life.

Even phones can do presentations with the proper cable (android, idk about iOS).

Its not the CPU that chugs battery, the GPU is pretty bad. Rendering a browser page can draw up to 40W.

You can use something like nvidia inspector to force the GPU to a low power state at all times if you want to squeeze everything out of it.

Sorry if I jump on this thread but I want some opinions. Is it safe to buy this laptop with a gtx1080 if I repaste the gpu/cpu with liquid metal TC, delidd the cpu and undervolt? I saw more or less most of the replies here but I still feel unsure.

I'm not having any issues with the 1080 and 8700k outside of bios overclocking issues. With an undervolt on the GPU I'm getting around 1900mhz and keeping below the 80c area, and the CPU I have running at 4.6-4.7 (cant get it locked for some reason, bios issue) and low temps with a delid. I'm using Kyronaut between the IHS and cooler, and Conductonaut for the delid.

I've done a few of these myself, but I'm always having trouble because whenever I fully uninstall Cortana using PowerShell, I completely lose the search function, would installing "Everything" restore its functionality as usual?

Ok, I found the limit reasons in Throttle stop, and it seems I am throttling because of 'VR Current'. Any ideas on how to fix that? It also flashes EDP Other as well.

I guess my next question would be what are you using to OC? I'm using throttlestop, and I dont see either ICC max or PL2.
