Intel XTU has these settings, throttlestop may have different names.

Ah, I have been avoiding XTU due to problems with resetting the CMOS in case things go bad. In XTU, its set to auto, what should it be set to? By chance do you have an XTU profile?

When you say don't stick please be more specific, do they set and it forgets on reboot or the slider moves straight back?

It does that, and then on top of that, when I bench with XTU still open, my ICCMax slider changes from auto to like 125a (IIRC). But yes, on reboot, the settings I had made dont stick.

    Ordered a P775TM1 with gtx 1070, 1080p 120hz, and a i5-8600k. On paper seems to be a great machine :)

Selling my P870DM-G barebone (GPU died on me, dont want to fight with the thing anymore...)

Bought a P775TM-G from LPC Digital a few days back. i7-8700k, GTX 1080, 4k screen, 32gb 3000Mhz RAM... Really hoping that they don't release a 2080 or 1180 or whatever in a few months but otherwise excited about this.

My old Mythlogic Clevo (P377SM-A with 2 870m in SLI) can become a crypto-mining rig or go to family. Works fine though.

Even if you just change that one value? Have you tried setting it to 100 amps? Does it display any messages on opening again about failing to set value?

I've been getting major instability in the games I play lately. I think it might have been a Windows update. I even reformatted and rolled back a whole bunch of drivers. Its kinda wierd because I had no issues before and suddenly everything is crashing to desktop after about 5-10 minutes of play, even with my GPU oc reset. I will keep trying to narrow it down. Its not consistent. Hope I can nail down whats happening.

About a month after it was delivered. Anyway the seller was a scammer and he denied any warranty or repair.

Well not so easily, and the cards that are from a reputable seller with warranty cost like 800 euros with the tax. So i'd rather buy a completely new generation laptop.

Just got a P775TM1-G and the storage is running hot for some reason.
    Samsung 960 Pro 512GB - 62C !!
    Seagate FireCuda 2TB - 58C

I have an external WD 4TB attached via USB and currently copying around 2TB of data from the WD to Seagate FireCuda so not sure why the 960 Pro is getting the heat. I have also noticed the PCH temps to be at 60C-62C. I know PCH is engaged with copying large but I think 60C+ is too much for such an activity.

I knew the 8700K would run hot and I have plans to delid/repaste if necessary but storage and PCH temps are worrying me..should I install a headsink/pads on storage? What about the PCH?

They will run a bit warmer idle in a notebook due to the lower airflow.

PCH temp is fine. NVMe drives is known to run hotter than Sata ssd’s.

Remember ssd’s run hot in this laptop model. You could of course make a heatsink Mod for your ssd’s. I’m sure you find something about this in the forum. @Georgel can maybe give some advices. Or other with same chassis.

Then again running warm and storing cold is how an SSD likes to be operated for life span.

Very hard to keep M2 SSDs within human temps, I'd just recommend going with typical SSDs, 2.5

I haven't noticed any single type of performance improvement with M2 over my 2.5 typical SATA SSD in actual performance, so M2 is probably a good idea only if space is a concern

They are never really at idle in a sense that they are like a HDD would be, if it was secondary drive. Like HDD's then stop moving or if they have cache move very slowly...
these stay fully powered unless they go to sleep. If there is cache on them, you can bet it's going full speed too.

Thanks for confirming, it is this chassis for me.
I'm aware of PC Specialist too, I'll double check the prices.

Edit >> Can also be configured on Scan website 8700k listed as £12 extra.

For what it's worth, PCS seem to be doing a better job with thermals than Scan, ymmv. And they are most certainly cheaper!

My top firestrike score 20878... #10 in the world... https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/24351627

    Hanging with the P870TM1 boys.

    What's keeping me below 21000?
My physics score could be better @ 5ghz.
Oddly my 3000mhz RAM is showing only 2400mhz.

I have thermal headroom with the cool temps right now, but my scores begin to drop after +182 core and +780 memory.
Should i tune the OC curve or do i need to mod the vbios?

Should I upgrade to dual channel? And is my RAM holding me back?

I would not rely on the sensors in 3dmark for memory speed etc. Dual channel will improve CPU benchmarks yes.

I've noticed that everyone is rocking at least 32GB OC'd dual channel RAM on the Firestrike Top 10. Memory is going down in price this year, guess I'll pick something up this summer.

I did some tuning and improved my results using Throttlestop for CPU undervolt and ROG GPU Tweak II for GPU OC

    20236 @ FireStrike
    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/24369567

    Maximum CPU temperature 66C
    Maximum GPU temperature 70C
    Fan Maximum

Even though the temperature is staying well within range but any more OC is not making any improvement

@Jumpwired what are you using for CPU and GPU overclock..I think your result should be better @5GHz

Does anyone know the exact model number of 1080p 120hz panel in P775TM1? I know that in standard configuration Clevo puts LG panel: LP173WF4-SPF5 60hz.

How easy or difficult to gain access to the two m.2 slot and 2 ssd drive bay?

What are the thermals for cpu/gpu without delid or undervolt?

Running on ICD on the delidded CPU and Gelid Exteme on GPU which I have been meticulously tuning.
Get about 85C max on the GPU and 81C max on the CPU @ 4.5Ghz and idle at around 46C. Expecting sub 80 temps when I use LM between the IHS.
I might try to LM the GPU for the 8th time to see if it sticks, but I'm expecting maybe a 1-3C drop at this point. The Gelid is doing work.

I haven't touched the CPU side yet, but LM will probably get me to the 4.8-4.9Ghz all cores daily driver clock.

Does anyone happen to know if this model would work with an i3-8100? The price of a barebones unit from rjtech is actually pretty good but I would just be using this for gaming so I don't need the extra performance and cost of the i5-8400 or higher.

You need the extra CPU for gaming as well for over 70% of games out there actually.

Theoretically it should work, but the CPU might bottleneck the 1080 GPU in it if you're going with GTX 1080.

Is the difference to an i5 that high price wise?
