Don't bother. Eurocom is just a reseller (even though they call themselves a "manufacturer"), they don't make chassis or mobo's and as such only build and sell Clevo barebones. There's no quad GPU laptop on the planet. The 3 top machines are the P180H, AW M18x and P270WM (the only one with a desktop CPU).

Can you imagine the size of the chassis needed to be able to get 4x video cards inside? Not only that, as someone else mentioned, the heat would be so extreme and unbearable.

Why would anyone even need something like that? There isn't an application or game that would ever need it. Total waste of money if it were real.

Yeah this is utterly stupid... An SLI GTX 675m will handle ANY game on Ultra and at 1500p NO PROBLEM. Even BF3 and Skyrim. And if you wait I'm sure the GTX 680m or 690m or 685m will be at least a 30% jump over the 675m.... If you want SLI-D you get a desktop; or one of the LAN box desktops that you can transport. Because that laptop would have to be liquid cooled like crazy and it would be very sketchy.

Ok so here is the deal, Once my order ships from eurocom, Ill study the PSU for some time and mean while see what the Manufacturers are able to do about it. Some even told me that they will be sending me a prototype, so what ill do is Ill be performing an extensive test on the prototype with Sli enabled and make laptop use its maximum energy, even let it run on its on own speakers. Once that all goes successfully as planned Ill make a poll at NBR and where ever possible to get people and see how many people need it and make order according to it.

That's more like it, make sure the plug is interchangeable since IIRC the X7200 and P270WM doesn't share the same sockets on the back.

im wondering if purchasing in feb/march was a wrong thing to do lol. at that time machine default cost was at around 2.8k compare to now 2.1k, and with dual 580m replaced by dual 675m practically same performance and the cost difference in that is around 300.

just from default cost and GPU upgrade, thats 1 grand right there..

No one really "purchased" in Feb/March, only pre-orders were available then. If you placed a pre-order then you will get the current pricing and configuration...Just contact your reseller.

Reconfigure your PC and submit it to your salesperson. Thats what I did and I was able to make a few minor upgrades and ended up getting a small refund. Thanks again, Donald.

Wow. Seriously? That is... unfortunate. I had thought maybe the new MXM 3.1 standard was the reason for Sager's delay of the P270WM. Disappointing...

The only thing holding me back from pre-ordering is if they'll get 3d screens or not. I've noticed that some resellers have it while others don't. And it makes me kinda skeptic on whether or not to wait it out.

Ok I appologize if this topic has already been answered/covered, but I am curious with the NP9270 will the desktop CPU be removeable?

I ask bcoz I am wondering if this will be an upgradable part or not.

This might be one for someone coming from the x7200.

Was there any success with that model running different video cards not in SLi, and what would the likelihood of doing so with this model?

I know there must be a few of us that would like to run a GTX and a quadro for 'work' in different slots. Just wondering what the thoughts would be on this. I know the 675 brings a lot of Cuda cores but I never seem to get the same performance in some autodesk products with a gefore/as opposed to a quadro. I'm coming from a 3700m on my D901c and it ran/runs most professional programs I throw at it and games decently but I cannot afford to purchase a new comp with a quadro at this point.

That being said, I'm pricing units out for purchase in Canada if any resellers have any specific points for a purchase my PM box is empty.

Yes, you can upgrade the CPU :)

Geforce can't substitute the Quadro's, srry. If you really need this beast for CAD, DCC and similar software, you need a pro GPU :(

right, i keep forgetting to ask.

for this laptop its going to have 3 HDD slots, two sataIII and one sataII right? if i only order the machine with a single harddrive leaving 2nd and 3rd hard drive blank, does the machine still come with caddy? getting the harddrive is easy but caddy would be a pain, and pointless to get the 2nd/3rd harddrives later myself if it doesnt come with those HDD caddys/holders with single HDD purchase.

anyone got information on this? any resellers?

If you buy only one HDD, they will typically install it inside the caddy where 2x HDDs can be placed.

Unless you mean the caddy for the optical bay?

no i think he meant if they built him in the three caddy's for the three hdds (without optical one) also if he just orders the p270wm with one (primary) hdd.

i think this depends on the reseller (just ask your one particularly) - but as they all get shipped with 3 caddys built in they should give them to their consumers also with 3caddys :) :) (if it is the same way as with the x7200 you can see in this YT-Video @2:50min

Ohm - a question to the American resellers among us:
how intelligent is it to order a p270wm from there in meanings of warranty/Service/Shipping Prices/Taxes to Middle Europe (Austria)?
Your Systems with the same configs are about 700€ cheaper than here in Europe (unfortunalty).

As far as warranty goes, if you had any problems and only had the standard US warranty you'd have to send the whole laptop back to the US (paying shipping yourself to send it in). Some do offer European warranties at an additional cost, so that you don't have to mail it back to the states.

Also keep in mind that you'd potentially have customs/taxes to pay on delivery as well.

Weird box there. Usually you have a "remark" line stating for whom the barebones are for.

Also last news from Clevo (that's last week) was that the P270WM was postponed.

There will be NO Sager Resellers of the Sager NP9270 / Clevo P270WM that will ship this model with the 580M.

It will ONLY be shipped with the 675M or the Quadro FX 5010M. The shipping is still for mid April. :)

The little blue light in the middle? (right upon the "5" *click* ?)
It indicates the w-lan data transfer. Right as, you might remember, the old desktop pcs (or may you got a playstation 3) - there is an orange indicator light if the HDD is in use or not, this is exactly the same but with the w-lan card. :) [it may depends on the w-lan card itself  )
i don't know if you can disable it - may some more experienced laptop guru can help you out! :D
