    Hello Guys and Cracks ,
I am a new Guy here from Germany , living and working in Dubai.
So I ordered a new Notebook in Germany, will get it in a few days , see Specifications below:
    Clevo P 370SM,
    120Hz 3 D Display,
    i7-4900MQ
    2 x GTX 780M SLI
    2 x 240GB SSD Kongston Hyper X 3K
    2 x 8 GB RAM Corsair DDR3 1600
    BluRay Burner
    WLAN Intel Centrino 6300
    Windows 7 Ultimate

So I have some Questions about how I will get the nesessary Performance out of it.
    1) Should I set the 2 SSD's in RAID 0 , Need max Speed ?
    2) How can I OC the CPU and have somebody the idea which Software I should use ?
    3) What is the most easiest OC Software to OC the 2 GPU's ?

    Thank you all in advance.
    Kindest regards
    Guido
PS: I guess or hope my english is understandable. =)))

PSS: My present Notebook is a Clevo P370EM with a single GTX680M. Before I have had 3 Alienwares , but Dell was not taking care of Customers Problems with throtteling GTX580M. So never again an Alienware.

    Hello again,

Not having much luck with technology at the moment...

So every now and then whilst playing a game, I will get: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

I've brought the OC down to +100 and +300 but I still get this issue.

Current driver is v311.27 and the Nvidia update says no updates available. I try and update via the Metabox driver website but the 375SM is not listed?

So do you think it's the OC, driver or dodgy GPU, any ideas?

    Thanks.

Reset your OC to +0 and game. If the "Display driver..." error (which normally issues a driver issue :)) still appears, it's likely a driver issue.

In any case, you should try using one of the newer beta drivers e.g. 320.49. I was having issues with the out-of-the-box drivers you're using.

OC maxes 3.6ghz on a single core, 3.4ghz on four cores.

Edit: From your questions, I think it might be illustrative if you read this.

Hey there, the machine has the ability to fit two of those standard HDDs in there, two Msata, and one ODD. That 840 Pro will take up one HDD bay which leaves you with one bay and two Msata, plus your BR drive. So you could get one of your spares installed no problem, but the other will require the removal of that 840 pro or the ODD.

    4700MQ = +200mhz
    4800MQ = +400mhz
    4900MQ = +600mhz

    To all turbo levels.

All ocing has to be done through turbo on the mobile chips since it uses temperature and power limits to make sure it runs properly.

Helll Guido and welcome to the Notebookreview Forum as well ;)

The might be a bios option to overclock your cpu, else you will have to rely on Intel XTU (Xtreme Tuning Utility). This is a utility officially provided by Intel. You can increase the turbo multipliers of your CPU, but cannot increase the base multiplier (which is possible only on unlocked extreme edition CPUs, which, for this generation, is only the i7-4930qm afaik. Note that the CPU will still clown down to a lower frequenz if the short term tdp (thermal design power) limit is exceeded. So, the effect is not the same as with desktop cpus. Still, very few applications will require max cpu power over an extended time period.

I am trying to get a P370SM3 with a 120hz screen. Does anyone know if any of the Sager/Clevo dealers in the US are offering this yet?

Not as of yet as far as I'm aware, I know Sager specifically don't offer the option yet but I don't believe others have either. No ETA on the option but I'd assume before end of the year.

Thanks for the quick response Derek. So my question now is if I go ahead and buy the laptop now from you guys can I just purchase the screen later by itself? I build my own gaming PC still so I am pretty good at understanding what would be involved but not sure if I can just get a new monitor.

I am pretty anal about having a very nice screen which is my only reluctance to Sager at this point. Any suggestions on which screen option would give me the absolute best picture. I could give a rip about glossy or matte. Indoors with it always and want the best screen. Thx

The difference between matte vs glossy is largely the fact that glossy screens tend to be over saturated which makes the colors more vibrant. Some people prefer this look while others hate it. For the most accurate picture representation, matte is considered the way to go. A lot of people who use it for primarily gaming and video do go with matte but it still really is a personal preference.

The screen can definitely be upgraded down the road and purchased. Sager won't ship the LCD panels separately though as they're so fragile, they require the machines to be sent in for that upgrade. If we carry the screen on our models when they are available, we can sell them separately. Or once they start shipping, just get the model number here on the forums and buy it. So lots of possibilities, just a matter of how it is you want to go about it.

    Bad news Aussie sports fans.
The techie at Metabox who is currently fixing my screen and GPU has informed me that he does not think the P375SM will be getting the 120Hz screen anytime in the near future. At least not from Metabox anyway. The P370SM3 seems the only option, or an aftermarket screen from a 3rd party perhaps...
Hopefully I'll have my beast back on friday... hopefully :S

Resellers earlier in the thread stated that 120hz will only be for p370 and not p375. I have no idea why but this was brought up earlier in the thread.

They're basically the same internals and features. The chassis, however, are a bit different in that the P375sm has the extra styling and LED lights -- it looks like a "gaming" laptop. The P370sm chassis looks pretty much the same as the previous iteration, P370EM.

If I had to do it over, I'd likely get a P370SM. The "bling" on the P375SM is rather cheap-looking: it reminds me of the cheap knock-off transformers my parents used to get me in the 80s since they didn't know any better :) That's just me though...

Performance will be the same between the two models with the same configs. The only material advantage of the P375sm is the chassis is a bit more volumous/bigger so the heat ventilation may be a bit better (but I'm betting not by much). Even so, the footprints of the two laptops is about the same.

And one other difference, which was just mentioned, is the P370SM will be the only model to come with a 120hz screen.

The P375SM does have a bit better cooling, and the audio is quite nice compared to recent clevo models (according to htwingnut), but I don't know if the P370SM delivers on the better audio.

Also, the P375SM WILL be getting 120Hz screens; though quite possibly the P370SM will get theirs earlier.

Can somebody tell me if they changed better audio for p370sm than p370em(hardware /software) .

Actually i was gonna get p177sm with single 780m but I think p372sm-s (special edition of p370sm) or sager NP9380special is a better choice to get ; again with a single 780m. They cost almost the same with more specification in favor of p372sm-s. That's why I need to know the differences between 370 & 375. If the advantage is more then i might go for duel AMD 8970m and adding $250 more to get a p378sm.
    Any suggestions!?

I just ordered a P375SM, the next 30 days will pass so slowly. The deal breaker about the P370SM for one is the touchpad, I hate touchpads where the buttons is located inside of the touch area.

I'm reading the last pages but isn't clear to me all this conversation regarding 120hz screen, is this an advantage?

    My first post, yay! :)

Seems that my local provider will issue a 300W power adapter instead of a 330W for the P375SM.

    Here's the specs:
    INTEL CORE I7 HASWELL - 4700MQ 2.4 GHZ, 6MB
    32 GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR3 (1600 MHZ)
SSD 256 GB SATA III (CRUCIAL M4)
SSD 256 GB SATA III (CRUCIAL M4
    BLU-RAY 6X DVD+/-R DL SUPER-MULTI
2X (SLI) NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 780M GPU COM 4GB DE VIDEO
    17.3" 16:9 (1920X1080) FULL HD LED-BACKLIT
    BIGFOOT KILLER WIRELESS-N 1202 802.11 A/B/G/N WIRELESS LAN + BLUETOOTH 4.0 COMBO

Do you guys believe I'll have performance problems because of this adapter.

BTW: I was a little concerned about the 60hz vs 120hz stuff, but after reading a bit and watch this episode from NCIXcom ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWEpIwNDeCA) I, personally, don't think is that crucial.

Yeap, their website got the wrong information (also pointed only one mSATA when we actually got two). Seems to be a very good company, with great feedback from customers but they really need to take a look on the website product's information.

For some reason I can't send PMs on this site so if either Mythlogic or Xotic get the 120 displays in for the 370 I am ready to order one. I don't give a rip about 3D but I want a VERY nice display. Also do you have any specs on it? NITS? Glossy? Matte?

With your 5 posts you'll now be able to send PM to either of us. As far as the monitor that Sager will be offering, we won't be able to confirm any specs until the option is available as we haven't had it confirmed with what monitor will be used for that.

Hmm, seems like my reseller has a problem: I ordered Win 7 HP, but the (Win 7) drivers aren't avaible at the moment. Now I have two options:

-1. Get Win 8 with free upgrade to 8.1 and they will send me my laptop tomorow
    or
-2. Wait for the drivers to be avaible and wait for unknown amount of time

So, does Win 8 have much compatibility issues (with games)? If not, I might aswell go with Win 8 than.

If you watch part 2, Linus (being a gamer himself) is able to get it correctly 100% of the time. It DOES make a rather large difference, but it isn't say... as much of a problem as if they only had 770Ms and you had to wait for 780Ms to come out and you wanted to get a cutting edge machine.

If you CAN wait and would like the screen, (I.E. like if you have a P170HM with a 580M and a 2740QM that works fine) I suggest waiting. If you're like me with a D900F that crashes when playing so much as Unreal Tournament '99 (far less CoD/Fallout/Elder Scrolls/Bioshock/Deus Ex/Metro/Battlefield/Borderlands/I-really-don't-need-to-go-on-here/etc), and you have been missing gaming for the last few months, then I would say waiting is less of a luxury and going without the screen won't be a bad idea at all.

Long story short: 120Hz = good investment and enjoyable; easily noticeable if you're not a 100% console gamer or a gaming novice. Also 3D might be a nice investment =D.
Is it worth lacking any sort of working computer/gaming machine for months until it arrives? No.
Is it worth waiting to purchase if you have a working computer/gaming machine on hand and your need of this computer is not imminent? Yes.

I also ordered with Win7 Pro x64 and I am unable to get my drivers working. I had to reformat my laptop due to me wanting Raid 0 drives, and now I can't get Ethernet, USB3 ports, hotkeys program and a couple others working. I'm simply thinking to buy a win 8 upgrade just so I can use my laptop. I would prefer not to, and find it hard to understand that something is made to work on Win8 and not Win7.

Any ideas on what I should do?

I also managed to do a 3dMark performance test, 12000+, can't remember correct score.

    Hi,
I am looking to buy the 9390 or 9380 and I am curious about having feedback from people with dual 8970 or any other config. I am drewling since end of June and I am planning to get it soon. I will probably go dual 8970 to save money from dual 780M. I cant find much benchmarks yet on the 8970 but it's surely good enough for me.

How do you like the laptop ? I saw one guy in the thread having issues with dual 780M does any one have issues or its now fixed ?. Do you have any other positive feedback to give me from Sager laptop since they are pretty much not well known from the general people ? Do you guys pick the 1 year warranty or 3 years since it's an expensive toy, is it worth it ? I will probably buy from Reflex Notebook Canada - Your Source for Sager Notebooks and Laptops in Canada since they are in Montreal and I am located there any one have dealt with them :)

I know I ask a lot of questions. Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks

Ok then you owe us beer =) Its 7/22 and we have the P370SM3 up for order (not pre-order) right now.. We only got in some 2x780m for it (So they will be powerful, but not cheap), but we have them... In all their nV 3D glory.

Actually I've already saved the build with a 12 pack included. XD. However, I didn't expect the 3D screen + glasses to be so much more... It's an entire $200 more than taking the 72% matte screen on the non-3D model. I'll have to wait a little bit more before I get it. (unless that was a pricing error and it's less, in which case yay-ness)

yeah, I know, but previous models had say... screen was the same as a 72% gamut matte screen for the 120Hz screen, and the 3D glasses + emitter was about... $50-$80 more. I just wasn't expecting a $200 XD

Well I was looking at getting dual 780s anyway so that is fine. I would like an honest opinion from a retailer before I drop 4k on a laptop. All things aside and money no concern how would you compare the picture of the 120hz vs the glossy 60 or better still the Samsung Series 7 Gamer? I hate to be a pain on this but I sold my Samsung Series 7 Gamer and looking to replace that one. That screen was just gorgeous and was 120hz so I am a bit spoiled. I don't care about the 3D and don't mind paying for something I won't use as long as the screen is as good as Samsungs. So bottom line is if you were buying this for yourself and coming from that screen which screen option would you choose?

I don't think anyone has actually had their hands on these besides mythlogic so far; so it's a bit difficult to ask for such a comparison. You'd need to wait a while; or simply see videos of the screen/hear their description of it and decide for yourself.

I AM asking the Mythlogic folks. I believe they sell the Samsung as well.

What ever happened to the updated P375SM bios for better backlighting control? I reached out to Sager two weeks ago and they'd ask for my serial and responded they'd send the file shortly -- haven't heard back since.

Is anyone else running the updated bios, and if so, could you post?
