That's because I have not had my way with it yet ;)

It could be they are using FC03 and undervolting it to save power.

    Well....What are you waiting on....Christmas? :D :D (Joking)

You're a reseller, you always have access. :)

Nope, they are not under volting anything. It's the same thing with the titans. No one is doing no fancy memory over clocking. for fear of burning up the card or corrupting the memory chips. And that's with a zombie mod adding like 1.8 volts to 2.0 volts with top of the line memory chips. So unless you got one of these image_id_968748.jpeg attached to your card or cards...not gonna happen.

But hey, maybe you'll be the first to pass. :)

To me this makes the 120-128GB Samsungs a bad buy, especially as an OS drive. The quotes are about the 120 TLC. The 128 also has latency issues, covered in the TweakTown review.

    Bolded by me.

    Crucial M500 120GB SSD Review | TweakTown
If financially possible, go with a 240-256GB or bigger mSATA. If not possible, look at the Plextor M5M mSATA128GB, It's, usually, competitive in price and has better performance. Sequential writes 320 MB/s compared to 130 MB/s

So a Plextor M5M 128GB mSATA and a 512GB PM841 sound like a good plan? I think I'll ask them to do this with the build tomorrow and adjust the price. Thanks for pointing this out to me!

What's the plan for them? One for OS one for storage? Or a 2.5" SSD for OS? What are you putting in the 2.5" drive bays?

The 512GB 841 will have numbers similar to the TLC 840 500GB not the fastest, especially writes, sequential writes, 330 MB/s. No latency issues of the 120GB! As a storage drive it should be very good, top capacity, until the yet untested Crucial m500 480GB arrives.

I can vouch for the Plextor M5M 256GB mSata drive. I will post up the results later once I have tested.

    luigi.lauro - Post #346

I was wondering the same thing.

I am also trying to get multi display working on my Asus VE278Q screens, but have no idea how to do this other than the Matrox TripleHead2Go unit. I'm not sure if these displays support daisy chaining and we only have 1x HDMI and 1x Thunderbolt port to use.

    Actually we have:

    1) Displayport 1.2
    2) Thunderbolt (which supports Displayport 1.1 or maybe 1.2)
    3) HDMI 1.4a

    1 and 2 supports 1080p@120hz, 3 doesn't.

120hz screen is definitely worth getting. Putting 3D aside, playing on a 120hz is much more fluid than playing on a 60hz screen. Besides lower battery life, I can't really think of any disadvantage of the 120hz screen.

Also wondering about the fan noise. Notebookcheck mentioned that it gets pretty loud even with 765m sli, so I'm not sure how unbearable it is with 780sli under full load.

I only have a HDMI and a thunderbolt port. Even on the clevo products page, they state that these laptops (Sager NP9380, NP9390 / Clevo P370SM, P375SM) have 1x HDMI port and 1x Thunderbolt port.

The only laptop to have the extra display port is the P370SM3 which, correct me if i'm wrong, is the only 120hz laptop. I was only able to find infor on this laptop from a wholesaler in Australia.

    P370SM/NP9380 - CLEVO - Products
    P375SM/NP9390 - CLEVO - Products

Now that I think i have cleared that, is there a way to get 3 external displays off of either the P370SM or P375SM @ 60hz? Can you use the Thunderbolt port for 2 different display's? This is the 1st time I have seen a Thunderbolt port, as i dont use Apple.
I also do know that when in our bios, the tunderbolt option say either legacy (i think) or DP++.

    Hey Guys!

I need some help. I have the P375SM/NP9390 with SLI 780s. I am using the current beta drivers - but I have tried every driver available and while playing Tomb Raider I get: "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." This results in a crash - that sometimes halts on a black screen and I have to hard boot/power button reset the machine. So far, this is the only game I have noticed this in. I am not getting BSOD and the error above is from the Windows Event Log

I have used driver sweeper each time to reinstall drivers, I am not overclocked nor do I have any custom firmwares installed. I am running Windows 7. I have made sure I am on High Performance power settings - and plugged in of course. I have also checked my temps and they are around 73C/70C respectively. I have Googled my face off. Does anyone have any suggestions? I appreciate any help.

This occurs after I have been playing around an hour - with nothing necessarily intense going on within the game itself.

I have come across this issue as well and I'm not sure what causes it either. I had just put it down to my CPU and GPU overclocks. I have the brand spanking new beta drivers.

-I know this isn't related to graphics, but have you got XTU running?
    - Have you gone into the nVidia control panel and selected SLI, because when you install new drivers it sets it to non SLI.
    - Have you got Hi-performance selected under power options?
    - Also under the hotkeys program you can set it performance mode.

Are them temperatures under load or idle? I know that when i do run 3dMark 11/13 or Unigine benchmark's, my highest GPU temps are 83C.

Or you could read that article above.

The article above is a little dated - I knew those issues existed early on but as far as I know - it was resolved. For instance the same bugs were on the 680 series and I am unable to replicate it on a 680M or desktop 680 SLI. This is why I am puzzled.

    To answer your questions:

    No on XTU
    Yes on SLI
Yes on power (set to high performance)
Yes on power saving (set to performance mode)

Those are my temperatures while playing, Both cards are generally around 75 to 80 percent load. The only time it gets hotter than around 73 is if I don't set my fans to full (Fn+1). I always game that way out of habit. Full blast rocket ship fans!

I just driver sweeped AGAIN this time I made sure it deleted anything under "chipset" and rebooted a little more frequently. Then I downloaded the driver again and reinstalled. Been going for about 45 minutes now. Please still shoot ideas this way - I mean maybe it is the game and I wont shoot that down, but it doesn't seem to be that wide spread of a issue more recently. Not since about March around the time of the games release.

Thanks for your help guys! Again, if you think of something else let me know. I will let you know if I find my way out of the water too.

Could your problem be Windows 7? I know that when I installed Win7, i had alot of driver problems. As soon as i changed to Win8, i haven't.

On a separate topic here are my results of my Plextor M5M 256 h/d
    Plextor 256gb.png

    And my 3dMark 11 scores:
    3dMark11 P.png

Just wondering if anyone else can stick up their 3dMark score so i can compare the results. I think my results may be rather low for what settings I have.

Finaly got my P370SM. I seriously love it! Played (modded) Crysis on ultra. Runs like a charm. It's also pretty to have it on your lap since it isn't that heavy; 9KG.

    - 780M
    - Win 8 (Mixed feelings about this)

I managed to resolve my issue as it seems. I driver sweeped and this time when I installed the driver I told it to delete all of my existing profiles. SO if someone else has the issue they may want to try it. It was happening at around an hour each time (the crash) but I played the last 5 hours of the game with 0 crashes.

    Thanks for your help!

I have also run Borderlands 2, Fallout New Vegas (with NCM Large Texture Pack) and Mirror's Edge; all are running very smooth at max settings. I am truly impressed by the power of this thing (although that may be because this is my first gaming pc).

he-he) The only thing i used was CM U3 laptop stand + FN+1 combo, that's it! Even the paste job is stock, not IC Diamond. Room temp around 23-25C

Let's say that during 3dmark11 and Unigine Valley runs the temps rose to 85/75C for GPU1/GPU2 accordingly

So i pulled the trigger on a NP9380-S ( what ever the S means). Excited to get it, i placed the order with XoticPC last week. Any ways, got it with dual 780's and 4700mq with 16GB at 1866Mhz and of course the 120Hz screen. Any recommendations to do when i get it?

Congrats on the order! The S means its the same as the 9380 but has a higher stock configuration like the 780M vs 770M the non S has, and 3D screen. When you get a chance add a mSATA or SSD to the computer and you'll get much faster read/write times.

Perfect specs I would say, very similar to what I ordered.

Only thing you could improve is adding a 4930mx, since you are also getting the second PSU, if you really wanna push the machine to the very limit, 4930mx ought to be a better overclocker than 4900, and will be unlocked by default.

But the value VS the money is for sure low: 4900 is already a great CPU, also for extreme overclocking, especially if you can unlock it via prema BIOS or similar ;-)

yeah I thought about the 4930mx, but decided that the money saved would get the laptop custom painted so decided to go that route instead. I have heard back from Mythlogic and have placed the order, so now the waiting game!

I was thinking about putting two crucial m4 256GB or two Plextor PX-M5M 256GB in RAID 0 (mSATA). Is it worth putting them in RAID 0 or is it just overkill? I was planning on using the mSATAs for the OS mainly but can always toss in a few games for the extra speed and keep a 1T hard drive for other files and whatnot.

I would HIGHLYYYYY suggest if you could spare the extra cash to go for a 3 year warranty instead of a 1 year. Because you just bought essentially the ultimate gaming system of gamingness. That ain't getting obsolete anytime soon.

I was about to post a "YAY I just ordered..", but I got an update from Xotic telling me that they don't accept international credit cards. :( Agghh I want my laptop NOW!! :p

So I'm in the process of ordering a Sager P370SM3, and here are my main specs:

    120hz screen

GTX 780 (just one for now... can I add a second card later for sli?)

    i7 4700MQ

IC diamond paste and copper cooling

    16gb ram

240gb Intel 520 SSD (I was gunna go for two 120's and RAID 0, but figured one drive is still fast enough)

Bigfoot networks killer 1202 dual band + bluetooth (or should I go with the Intel AC 7260? Same price)

I will be installing Windows 7. Any last minute suggestions before I go through with the payment? Great forum, btw. I've read every single page while doing research and you guys have been very helpful. :)

    Specs are fine, but:

    1) Why the 520? Is a very nice drive, but for that money, there are far better drives (840/840pro, etc...)

    2) 120hz and 1x 780M? I strongly suggest 2x 780M in SLI if you really wanna make your 120hz/3D screen worth it. You will need to push 100+ fps to make use of it in 2d@120hz or 3d@60 per eye. 1x 780M is not enough ;-)

    1) The Samsung 840 Pro is better than the Intel 520? I'm not an expert on this.. enlighten me. :) There's a 256gb 840 Pro for a bit cheaper, so if it really is FAR better, I will go with it.

    2) I want to add a second gfx card when I have the money. :) I went with this model (P370SM3) over the 170sm for the ability to upgrade in the future.

    Thanks for the suggestions :)

I don't understand why there's no P375SM 3D/120hz version. The clickpad on 370 is a deal breaker to me. Anyway, I have already ordered a 375 and won't be worrying about 120hz for the next four years.

Talking about displays, in your opinion guys, what would be the best experience with 780m sli and a 60hz display? VSync ON (locked fps) or higher fps without VSync?

You can turn off the LEDs but the mid keyboard and touchpad are linked IIRC.

Samsung 840 Pro is *WAY* better than Intel 520.

    Go for it for sure.

They're not dependent on each other anymore, new firmware allows those to be turned off independently via hotkeys.

For synthetic benchmarks on an empty drive, the Samsung Pro 256GB is the king. But how many people will use their SSD this way? "Real World" tests, drives with data on them, the 840 Pro and 520 are about equal in performance.

In :'Steady State" mixed R/W testing the 840 Pro doesn't do so well. See the last graph in link.

For those considering 770m SLI, I just did a bench of my P370EM with dual 670MX which are exactly the same card. The performance OCed is amazing and faster then a pair of stock 680m! View attachment 100285

    How can I boost my 4800MQ from 2.7 to 3.7GHz? I can't find/download Intel Turbo Boost anywhere.

You cant manually change it, it does so automatically when you do any CPU demanding programs. If doing simple things like reading forums it doenst need to run that fast so it will clock itself lower. If you wanted to make it clock up just to see then download and run Prime95 which is a stress test program for the CPU.

Well, problem is; when I play Mafia 2 for example, it indicates my CPU is at 2.69GHz (which is stock speed). This is worrying me.

Maybe it's that way because you don't need the extra speed for anything? Try recording a video then rendering it in sony vegas, camtasia 8, adobe after effects... hell, even windows live movie maker ought to do it.

Or simply download Open Broadcaster Software and set it up to output to file 720p 60fps with "fast" CPU preset, hook it to your game and hit "start streaming". I bet your CPU doesn't stay at 2.7GHz

Edit: I just clicked the picture. The CPU reports itself at 2.7GHz to programs like that. If you want to see its speed, put the game in windowed mode and open CPU-Z on the side and monitor the clocks in real time.

Hello every one. I am a new member to these forums. My question is to Special_K,
How did you order your Sager with 1866Mhz memory. There is no such option on there web site. It only lists 1600Mhz.

He probably placed a special order. Mythlogic sells it with 1866Mhz memory, so it can be done.

I believe some of the ivy bridge and definitely the haswell can support 1866 on mobile chipsets. As for beyond that; I don't know.

On the 4700MQ page it says 1333/1600.

    http://ark.intel.com/m/products/75117

Seems to be the same for 4800MQ and 4900MQ. Even for the extreme edition 4960MX it says the same. Am I missing something?
