I use the bios for slight adjustments and more permanent adjustments. XTU is more for testing things on the fly.

Think intel even mentioned it one of their presentation slides that 14nm would be active until 2021. How many "+" do you think it'll have in the end?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
No more pluses I think, they will make tweaks but no formal announcements. -
Perhaps something might even drop for the lga1151 next year.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It's the new 1200 socket iirc.
-
I have a feeling something will get backported from the new node/process to 1151.
-
A final farewell for the socket 115x maybe?
That would be nice if they’d give us a unlocked 3.5Ghz (10) core With HT for Z370/Z390. Just something to ride out on for the next several years.
Kinda like the 6950X and X99
I guess I’ll be buying in to a new platform soon enough.Last edited: Dec 18, 2019jc_denton likes this. -
Hopefully with decent naming scheme and not 9999K
-

Because Intel has cared about the old socket? It would be a first.
-
And so is them being crushed by AMD.

In some ways yes but financially they are 1/16th of Intel who can't stop selling every chip they make.bennyg likes this. -
I bought 2 Asus zenscreen mb16ac portable monitors and also got the plugable 100w thunderbolt cable and it seems like the monitor is in standby and isnt connecting to the laptop. Is there anyone that could guide me on what I'm doing wrong?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Are you displayports re-routed to the thunderbolt ports as per your manual?
-
Too big to fail?
-
I have not done that
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Too profitable to fail at the moment.
Then you will have no signal, check your manual for more info. -
"So whats next for Intel?"
- World Dominatio- Err, I mean supplying the world.

Thinking about ordering a microchip by the name matrix Blackbox, it's a sms gps tracking chip installed inside the laptop using usb and a 3xxx mAh battery. Does anyone have any other recommendations or experience with anything hardware related?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
I assume this is a tracking device in the case of theft?
-
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Perhaps better to have good insurance rather than trying to track down a stolen machine from thieves or relying on the police to go get it.
-
in most of cases good insurance = expensive one. For tracking device u pay just once

Then hope you get it back

Hi,
Suddenly my wifi card stop working so I thought to check if any lose connection but again don’t know to access the wifi card.
Can anyone help me out in i order to open the keyboard and replacing the wifi card. I can only find screw at the back and after removing that screw I don’t know how to open the keyboard.

There is only a single screw. Use a screwdriver to push the KB up through it.

Be careful not to snap or sharply bend the ribbon cables.Last edited: Jan 7, 2020Papusan likes this. -
From which side or corner I have to pull the keyboard and is there any video for that.

Finally I manage to open the keyboard with help of hex key. I don't know how he insert the screw driver inside that hole because there is no space and hardly manage with this hex key. Honestly i took a big breath and push it then keyboard pop up.
I seen all connection are intact and just push the wires and now the card is working fine and i also update the driver. But i have feeling there is some problem with card.

I sent a message to Donald at HID evolution in regards to getting a P870TM1/TMR barebone with only a LCD display, and no main components.
Hopefully pricing is not to bad. I really want a 17” display and a Prema bios.
It is unfortunate but I will not obtain it any other way.jc_denton and electrosoft like this. -

The magnets are fairly strong holding it down too.NIGHTMARE likes this. -
The tape mod, is one of my favorite mods, making it easy to remove the kb and very useful when ram tuning.

Put tape under KB tray and you can easly lift up the keyboard for fast Cmos reset (without the keyboard screw). The strong magnets hold the KB on place. Remove the tape after you're finish tweaking ram and put the single KB screw back in place.

I tend to just rest it on the top but slid down a bit and use an external keyboard

Ah, finally I get to see the legendary tape mod in action.

I keep mine forever on, you never know when you might need a cmos reset, lol.Papusan likes this.

I just quickly and skillfully pop the keyboard up and out of place. I have (2) keyboard screws though. I have mastered this machine and I know it’s limits, yet for some reason I still try to exceed them lol.

Mode in a kill switch for the battery

Nice, that sounds interesting, can you post some pictures of it?

Not had to go in that far myself, I did have a socketed chip on my last machine due to it being used for bios development and bricking issues. -
@MB_ClevoUser if u are from US/Canada, you might want to ask @Donald@HIDevolution for it.
-
I have given up on it to be honest and moved on. The parts mentioned are all that I have left of it.

Our service department is not in habit of ignoring service requests, plus this is not area for selling that's the members market with all the rules there for peoples protection.
-
Wow, so it's all my fault now. You can say all you want, but the fact is, I was offered no help from sager.

We sell parts/repairs even if people have damaged their machines through their own actions. While I am not directly involved I have helped anyone who reached out to me and in those few cases it's usually just been a misunderstanding or someone missed a shipping notification.
So as a newbie to the forum coming on here making accusations and trying to sell directly on the forum what reaction were you expecting? -
I can send you a copy of all the emails even the phone calls I made. The result is that I am here trying to help someone else to maybe fix their laptop if they are in the same position as me. And of course to take verbal abuse from you.
-
Socketed bios chips, oh yes!
