Yup, just need to find a place in EU where they will sell me one, and not expect a 1k order of panels.![]()

Hello guys. Anyone knows the part number or even better where to buy the touchpad for this machine? Mine started to peel a little bit and I want to replace it
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The surface you actually touch is part of the upper casing.
-
Damn that's crazy. Do you know the part number by any chance?
is this one compatible?

Not 100% sure off the top of my head but might be. I'd check with them before ordering.
-
I found this one, which should be for sure compatible https://es.aliexpress.com/item/4000561771729.html ... But I never bought laptop's parts from Aliexpress. how reliable is it?
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It's a bit like eBay so depends on the seller.

I did a 6 month maintenance on the vaporchamber mod, which I'll try to get a writeup on. But the long and the short is that it was quite fine, and aging did indeed get significantly slowed down by the pre-LM treatment.

Did you set 1 DDI to TBT or 2 DDI to TBT? where is that OSUP option on the BIOS?, I've been trying to use my Dell WD19 (USB-C version) dock but I get no video from the dock, I've tried HDMI and DP but it just doesn't work, also I lose audio from my P870 when the dock is connected.
What else did you configure to make it work?
I have stock BIOS.
Thanks in advance!Last edited: Nov 14, 2020 -

I am considering to do the same VC mod on the cpu such as your, but the the 50x50mm VC is crazy expensive. 50EUR with shipping
-
Do you think this would also fit? (P870DM3 /w VC)
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Might depend on your specific heatsink and the give it has.
-
Yeah, unless you bulk order them they are expensive.
https://www.quick-cool-shop.de/en/heatdiffuser/heatdiffuser-quadratic/heat-diffuser-quadratic.html
The one you've linked is 90x90x3mm, the 56x56x3mm fits nicely on the TM1 heatsink.Papusan likes this. -
Hello all, if I wanted to salvage parts from my Sager NP9877 to use in a desktop, what parts can I use that haven't been modded to fit in the chassis? Any information is helpful!
-
I'd say storage (ssd, hdd), ram (in certain motherboards) and cpu
-
Ahh the GPU has been modified? I ordered mine with a GTX 1080.
-
Its a full GTX 1080 in technical specs, but it has a MXM slot format, not PCIe, you could use something like THIS but I don't know how convenient it is or if it works with any GPU.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yeah MXM is quite different to regular PCI-E cards. They have no inbuilt outputs for one!

I've been trying to use a Dell WD19 USB-C dock but I can't make it work to display video through it. I already enabled DDI on the BIOS. Windows 10 and NVIDIA control panel detects there's an additional display connected but there's no signal in the monitor, do I need to install / enable something else?, my P870TM1-G has stock BIOS.
I already tried the laptop USB-C port and it displays video properly.Last edited: Nov 19, 2020 -
Does hitting windows key + P for duplicate/extend send a signal over to the monitor?

The dock is USB-C, the model is WD19.
-
Yeah I tried all the methods but none of them work. The second screen is detected by Windows and the Nvidia configuration panel but it doesn't get any signal. I already tried my two monitors with it with no success. I also tried the dock with an android smartphone and another computer and it worked so it seems to be a problem related to my laptop, maybe I'm missing a step to use it properly.

The dock is connected to the laptop through the USB-C / TB3 port, and then there's a DP/HDMI (tried both) cable that goes from the dock to the monitor.
Laptop ------USB-C------> dock -------DP/HDMI------> monitor
Sorry if I'm not being clear enough. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
It won't pass display port over usb only thunderbolt and only a single channel per port.

You need a TB3 dock which the WD19 is not.
I use something like this:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TC32SC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 -
Dang. I thought it could be compatible since the Clevo manual says:
"This unified Thunderbolt 3 port/ USB 3.1 Gen 2 port allows for the connection of external
peripherals to the computer by combining PCI Express (PCIe), DisplayPort (DP), USB 3.1 and its
own Thunderbolt 3 technologies."
But I guess it only uses PCIe for video output. -
At least you now know that it weren't the fault of your skills that it wouldn't work

With that one, be cautious of this (from the Amazon listing):
"Computers Supporting A Single Display (Partial List):
Systems with a single DisplayPort line wired to the Thunderbolt 3 port are not updatable to support two displays
Razer Blade Stealth / Pro
Asus/Transformer 3 Pro / ROG
Gigabyte (All models except Z170X, LGA1151)
HP Spectre 13.3
Intel NUC
MSI Stealth

It definitely only supports one display out. I only use one display but trying to use two testing it was an exercise I’m futility.jc_denton likes this. -

Interesting thing is, the P870TM has 2x Mini DisplayPort 1.3 output Ports (Supports 4K @ 120Hz)
jc_denton likes this. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yep, each is an individual channel, so you have to have active splitting of it if you want to carve it into separate displays. Some machines (especially those with fewer overall ports) stick 2 channels on the single connector.

Running mine at home on a vg279qm @ 280hz, while we wait for 300hz panels and next get gpu's.

Got to get from 280Hz to 300Hz eh?
-
Well, it'll be easier to swap the internal 17.3" panel to 300hz than to carry 27" around ^^

damn, 280hz + 1ms should look insane
are you able to run anything at that frame rate? -
The GTX1080 falls short here, even on LOW for something like Warzone the avg is around ~170fps. For CS and such, you can run and take full advantage of the high refresh though.
-
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
The 1080 has been around for a long time now when you think about.

laptop has started beeping loud and continuously until it shuts down.
Any similar stories out there? I could use the help here I'm quite stuck. -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Sounds like an EC panic, one of the monitored values such as temperature, power or fan speed is out of range on a critical value and it's shutting down. Check your fans.
luisxd likes this. -
If you force max fan speed with Fn+1 during boot up can you see the same behaviour when you use your laptop that way? You find the fans rpm monitored in Hwinfo64.
