    Full HD 1080p 17.3" screen in a ___ inch chassis (300nits)
NVIDIA GT650M 2GB graphics as shown on the glass specs panel beside (Some say it's wrong)
    64GB SSD + 1TB HDD option
    Backlit keyboard with sensor

Note that the set on display had a full aluminium finish, palmrest included. Noteworthy to include that the top where the speakers are - Samsung has replaced it with a plastic grill for the JBL speakers.

If it's really NVIDIA graphics in the 17.3", it may spell trouble for us 13-15.6" owners.

    Let the discussion begin!

haha! I was just telling myself if Samsung had an NVidia option, i'd be ALL OVER IT!!!

I hope this technology trickles down to the 15" models. If it wasn't so huge i'd preorder one right now.

So is the display FHD 91920 x 1080) or 1366 x 768. The latter is very low resolution for 17.3".

17.3" Full HD LED Backlit Display (1366 x 768) [SIC from JR preorder page]

It is full HD, 1920x1080. VR-Zone pointed that out in the first linked article.

It looks like only the model with the Intel HD4000 is available for pre-order. Any idea's when ones with a dedicated GPU will be available?

This one should have the GT 650M, no idea as the specs on JR page are jumbled and unclear.

Any idea when official ship date for these may be? If Sammy doesn't release a full HD screen in a 15" or 16" chassis, I may be going with this!

Okay, that Nike Edition notebook seems like a overpriced for the name...
Especially only integrated graphics and no info if dedicated video card sounds like biggest fail.

Actually apparently it might be a codename, but Nike name is copyrighted....

Serious question, can you replace the HDD for a SDD with this laptop?
Since the battery is integrated and all, I haven't the bottom of the laptop yet.

It has a hefty price here in Europe, at least if the website I viewed earlier is correctly around 1900 euro > 2200-2400 USD...crazy.

Yes you can, you just need to open the plastic bottom of the laptop and swap out the drives. It is pretty simple if you have a some knowledge of computers. You can look up youtube videos as well and it should be pretty similar.

Give or take 2 weeks it should be available in most stores.
Since it's officially launched already it shouldn't take that long before it starts popping up.

In Europe some German shops are selling it already, while in other European countries the ''available'' date varies from 5th of May to 8th of May.

Can we hope some of our German brothers on NBR will post a review of this laptop here? Soon.... :)

I am mostly interested in knowing three things:

    1. how is the screen quality? No orange red please.
    2. how good/bad is the keyboard? No missing keystrokes please.
    3. how hot does it get at the bottom? No burning the legs.

If these three things are satisfied, this is the perfect laptop for me.

Hoping to see a review of the unit soon, really curious if they used the same screen as the old 15'6 or a completely new panel.

Not to mention these laptops should be closer to 1000-1200 in price -_-
Considering that it's supposed to be a desktop replacement, for 1500 USD you can build a hell lot better rig.

Sadly for me I travel between 2 countries a lot...

I'm curious which chipset is has, HM 76/77, display model number.
The laptop box itself, Blu-ray or DVD and any dislikes or whatever.

Maybe we should convert this to a owner's thread instead since people will have theirs next week.

That's because most electronics companies sell their hardware for the advice price they set.

Stores can decide themselves what they ask for it, within reason of course.

Looking forward to all info we can gather.
Just contacted Samsung about the panel, but they don't have a clue.
New panel or the same as the 15'6, it's one of the big deciding factors for most people.
