    No, you misunderstand.

When a phone is sent away for repair due to battery-related issues, quite often the battery's capacity is tested and a print-out sent back.
I've seen batteries come back with print-outs saying they're operating at 111% of their rated capacity.

Oh, I know, I was just adding that. :) For people that go from ROM to ROM to ROM, calibrating the battery is a must.

Anyone know if theres a way to make the keyboard NOT go fullscreen when horizontal? Its the only thing about Android that is extremely annoying.

Has anyone else noticed their phone's headphone jack becoming unshielded or something...for some reason listening to anything with headphones with my phone is an exercise in frustration because the slightest movement of the plug will attenuate the audio, even simply rubbing it with a finger freaks it out and sometimes it'll start or stop or switch tracks on it's own, suggesting electrical interference.

I thought it was the headphones but i used that pair in both a Sansa Clip and both my PC's without incident, and today when they finally died, i bought a different pair of headphones from a different manufacturer and the same thing occurs. Works great on the PC but horrible in the phone.

It seems to be worse with this pair though and I can't even put the headphones in my pocket without it attenuating and you can hear static as it rubs on my jacket or if i rub the cord by mistake with my hand...making listening while on the move impossible. Disappointing since I'm now forced to return to the standalone mp3 player so i can't scrobble or anything. :/

Another sign that I need to prepare for a new phone. :D

Have $100 off Verizon that ends this month... I wonder if my next phone will be the Thunderbolt... maybe the Samsung will come out before the end of the month and bring something better to the table (like the SAMOLED+ screen and hopefully more).

If any of you guys have a Galaxy S, the new kernels on XDA provide 10-finger multi-touch, that while not particularly useful on a 4" screen... it provides better accuracy. :)

Drop THIS on the internal SD.
Boot into Samsung's recovery, and select re-install packages.
It will bring you back to recovery, just select "reinstall packages" again to be taken to ClockworkMod.

    :)

Actaully, all I did was, put the Axura zip on my SD card, then copied it to my install memory. Then I ran the Rom Manager, selected the Axura zip, them it rebooted and I selected reinstall packages, and that was it.

hmm, i actually didnt try that or think of trying that, lol. Usually you go through ClockWork to do it, and i cant get clockwork on my phone unless i do this whole process.

@HAL: will this much easier way work for me? :p or do i have to do that long way for some reason

LOL. The short way is almost ALWAYS not mentioned, because some people like to do the other way of rooting and all that mess so they don't have to deal with recovery menus...

I could have told you about that earlier..LOL. Sorry.

Since you are on official 2.2, though, you DO still have 3e recovery. Just something to remember...

np :p that other process is long and (as you can see XD) i havent done it yet

I may just go ahead and do this way XD

The only thing is im worried of loosing my Samsung Keyboard. I found an apk for it, and flashable zip. but with this method i wouldnt be able to flash any zip's that arent ROMs? and im not sure if itll work anyway.

Could anyone test it for me? :)

Any flashable zip is flashable from CWM... just select the .zip you want instead of a ROM. Under "Flash ZIP from SD" you can choose what to flash. Also, I have a working version of the Samsung Keyboard if you need it, along with Swype, the Gingerbread Keyboard, and MTM-Blackout Orange.

Hmm, maybe the HD2 'family' isn't quite as out-dated as it might've seemed: HTC Thunderbolt review -- Engadget

Apparently, amongst other things, the screen and camera quality are a step up from the likes of the Evo 4G - particularly the screen.
And the build quality is what you'd expect of HTC when they 'do their thing'...

I just use swype, it so much faster. Once you get used to it, you can't go back.....

The gingerbread keyboard, I tried that too. It's too cramped together. It's VERY functional (because everything is there on one screen), just not practical.

Yeah i like swype too :D

I use swype if im typing with one hand, so much easier :D

I used to use it all the time, but a multitouch keyboard is faster than swype for me.

    I use Ultra Keyboard.
Ok, not free but it's extremely customisable and you can get half-qwerty in portrait which I for one find very useful, swype-like features. It's also got the ability to both add words to and black-list them from the dictionary, themes, adjustable button sizes.
Pretty much any option you could want, it has.

The keyboard that HAL posted looks like it would work well for Swype though actually.
The like of defined keys would seem to gel more with that than typing IMO.

haha yeah :p on my old phone i only used swype, becuase it had a 3.2" screen which was...quite a task to type regularly on :p

On the 4" screen, the regular style multitouch keyboard works good :D

I've tried that one, not too bad but not as accurate as swype is.

    The swiping isn't perfect, no.
But having used the half-qwerty, I can't go back to a full qwerty portrait keyboard on my Defy.

Maybe I'll re-assess it when I get a phone with a larger screen.

As promised the benchmark of the " Patriot LX Class 10 16GB microSD Card" that i ordered, it has been error tested and it is perfect :)

My only problem was with the microsd to sdhc adaptor, the write protect tab was totally loose, the worsted i have ever seen, every time i inserted it into my notebook to do the benchmark, I got an write protection error, and when i removed the adaptor the write protect slider had moved, so i fixed it by heating up a fine knife and made a little bump by melting some of the plastic, now the write protect works great :)

Not too bad - slightly better write speeds than my Kingmax, slightly poorer read speeds.
Guess brand isn't such a big issue after all.

On a different note, this seems like a pretty good deal: Dell Streak for $99 when bought with a Dell PC or laptop

Regarding the battery you guys must be right, 4$ is a little cheap :p But I would really use another battery, I often find myself in this frustrating situation where you phone becomes a worthless paperweight.

$20 may seem like a lot, but would you rather have an exploding battery or one that works? LOL. There was a guy in the news here not too long ago that had his phone catch fire because of a crappy non-OEM battery.
