Even if you brick it, it's still easy to fix. I've bricked my phone for who knows, a dozen times already.

Alright thanks for the tip, I'm looking into getting 2.2 on my baby.
-
Froyo is the wat to go my vibrant personally thanked me for it.

I thought that Verizon had Samsung make file system changes before releasing the Fascinate version of the Galaxy S, but my stepmom keeps saying her phone is "super slow."
Would applying the "one click lag fix" do any good, and is it safe to do so on CDMA devices? -

EDIT: I forgot to answer your other question... Yes! It most certainly does work though. It creates a loop-back EXT2 partition that boosts file OP's significantly. -
I used the Version 3, because all the other version above 3 has some type of risky/pushing the limit mods that I don't think will be good for my phone.
I used Voodoo, it converts the whole /data folder to Ext4, but it's alot more risky than Ext2 (aka OCLF), you need to disable it before flashing anything else otherwise you will get a brick. -
This is actually probably a good place to ask.
I use my phone as an alarm clock but because I work varying hours, I'm forever having to adjust the alarm(s) to fit my working patterns.
So I was wondering if there was an app that would allow me to fill in my various shifts in a calendar format and then automatically sound the alarms at suitable times based on that.
I know that I can kind of do what I'm after with the standard G-Cal app but since you have to manually add the reminders for each event, it's a bit long-winded. What I'm after is something a little... lazier - I mark the day as being one when I'm working, set the time my shift starts and it sets up the reminders for me.
Or maybe there is a way to do that with G-Cal and I'm just not aware of it ( I've never used it before, so that could well be true).
Anyway, if anyone can shed a little light on matters for me, I'd very much appreciate it. -

When I have weeks like that, I make my itinerary out in calendar.google.com. Instead of making each reminder out as an event, I set it as a task, that way if I don't specifically acknowledge it on my phone it reminds me multiple times like an alarm.
-
See, I'd need more than that.
I'd just end up acknowledging it the first time then rolling over and falling asleep again.
I'll examine G-Cal a bit more though, clearly it has un-tapped potential. -
App Drawer -> Clock -> Menu hardkey -> Add Alarm (depending on how motoblur has skinned the clock application you may see a "Desk Clock" icon in the app drawer...) -
Yeah, I'm aware I can just keep adding new alarms but then I'd need to manually set each of them which is what I'm trying to avoid.
-
Hey i just got a Driod one. whats the best free Clock/calendar ? i love the HTC one but i dont want to pay for it
EDIT: i found "retro clock" and "retro date" i like it alot, anyone else use this ? -

H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
I routinely went over 10GB a month on my Droid X and they didn't say anything. I had the Unlimited $30/month plan.
-
In that case you are pretty lucky, I heard/read about people getting throttled by T-Mobile. I never hit 5 GB though, so I can't say for sure personally.
What did you do on a phone that uses up 10 GB? lol, tethering? My average use per month is 300-400 MB. -
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
You can practically watch the GB's fly by...

NICE, i was afraid to use Pandora .
HAL 10gb !!!! -

I dipped out on Verizon this week and went to Virgin Mobile. Got a Samsung Intercept running Android 2.1...honestly, it's a lot buggier than I expected. My notification bar keeps failing to show up, requiring a restart of my phone to fix, and it's generally very slow. Sometimes actions can take a good 15 seconds to register after I touch something, usually when it involves large lists (like navigating my contacts list, even though there's only 60-some entries, or going through messages).
I haven't really installed any apps besides Facebook and Pandora. Is there anything that might help this run a little smoother? -
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Those people are seeing around 8.5Mflops from Linpack with their custom ROM's!
EDIT: Just make sure to read their memos about which ROM is for Sprint and which is for Virgin Mobile! -
Is there such a thing, that when im not in service for a period of time the roaming turns off and the device connects to a wireless signal if available ?
if so this would be great, I dont have great service at my house and i hate turning off my phone to save the battery. -
Would turning on Airplane mode ON, and Wifi ON do this ?
From what i read this works ? Does airplane mode use alot of battery ? -

Ok thats what i thought. thanks !
another question. I downloaded the Norton mobile security app, what mobile security do you recommend -
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
So I guess I'm saying, just be smart about your apps, and you shouldn't need security. -
I want it more for tracking my phone and being able to lock it not so much for virus protection
-
I used lookout for a while, How's Norton doing on your Droid? I dumped lookout because the virus scanning portion seemed to be a bit superfluous and kinda slowed the phone down.
-
I uninstalled it, for the reason being that it scanned pretty much everything i did, and it was annoying. it was a free trial, so i just ditched it.
I downloaded google Tracks and it kind of does the tracking thing. -
H.A.L. 9000, your sig about PA is really funny ! are you from PA

Besides, Virus for Mobile Phone is not that common yet, not that they don't exist. -
I personally enjoy playing large musical scores on the cat pianos app.
-
A must have app:
PC Monitor- It shows everything that is happening on your computer, all hardware stats, even what you have open, and you can shut down, restart and all that, from anywhere. -

Gosh all you people here with your amazing phones and here I am with my old senile HTC Dream/T Mobile G1 that makes Angry Birds a slideshow

Just picked up the Chase Mobile App (about time) and an Air Force one to help study ranks and such.

My HTC Magic (aka MyTouch 3G) isn't much faster.

Not sure if this has been posted already, but if you're a musician, you should definitely look into gStrings. It's a free chromatic tuner that works fairly well.

Robinisms.
LOL. You just have to try this one for yourself. -
hey i have a bit of a problem ? any calender i install never works, when i try to add something to a day it says i dont have a calender( something on the lines of that ) ???
-
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Download a task manager like Autokiller, and look and see if there's an app going in the background called "calendarstorage" after looking at your calendar. If not try re-starting. If it's running end it, and the calendar app and try loading the Calendar again and try adding an event again.
If neither of those work, post back. -
@Hal9000
LOL, I like your new avatar, it's awesome. -
