    My guess is since its GSM like its T-Mobile's almost identical counterpart, I'm guessing thats true. But hopefully Exynos!

    That doesn't mean anything though, since their 4.3" non LTE GSII is Exynos. And so is the rest of the GSII series. The only one that isn't is T-Mo, since they have odd frequency bands.

    The two pre-existing Galaxy S2 models that support LTE use Qualcomm SoCs.
    And given the specs, the AT&T model is almost certainly just a re-branded Samsung Galaxy S II LTE

    So... should I go for the GS2 LTE on ATT for 249.99? Or import the Galaxy Nexus for 700+ dollars? I just can't decide. The GS2 LTE is tempting.. but there is just something special about owning a Nexus

    $700+? It's coming to Canada in a couple of weeks (apparently), heck I can probably get you one and ship it to you for cheaper. :p (Canada's major networks are compatible with ATT bands).

    Nice, when Samsung announced the SGN it kinda made me feel slightly remorseful about my SGSII (for a little while). The SGN is pretty sweet.

    Seeing that Droid RAZR is on par with iPhone 4S, I think it is possible for Galaxy Nexus to outnumber iPhone 4S if its hardware optimization is anything near significant.

    How legit is that Browsermark test?

    My own score here shows lower than their iPhone 4 (no S) score... and how does the Flash test work into the score?

    One of the reasons is because the iOS has a GREAT hardware acceleration. The 4S has a notoceably weaker CPU...

    But the 4430... I don't know why it's better than the Exynos 4210... HAL, can we know why?

    My numbers somewhere earlier on this thread was for iOS 4 (jailbroken).

    Possibly. I'm not sure how they average it all in. I would think that if they want a fair comparison, they would have found out about this ahead of time. Any good comparison has to be on equal footing to get a scientific truth out of it, but that graph also outlines the average iPhone vs. Android browsing experience too.

    My SGS2 is unable to install CM7 >.>
    Ugh

    It keeps going : E: Error (status 7) Installation Aborted
    EDIT:
    The problems seems to be coming from the name of my device, CM7 does not see it as a compatible unit.
    Tried to modify the binary starter to fix the problem but it failed, so I installed Exynos 7.2 instead, and now it's looping.
    Ah, the joy of flashing roms >.>

    There's GPU acceleration going on somewhere there. I just don't know whether it's by Google's hand or Moto's. That and it seems they've moved to EXT4... FINALLY. Motorola's been using EXT3 with no performance optimizations for quite a while.

    --BEEP--
    Wrong. The iPhone 4S has a GPU that would literally whip the Exynos, back-to-back... and the iPhone CPU/GPU combo is downclocked compared to the iPad 2. Seriously, the SGX543MP2+ is a very powerful GPU. Apple's A5 SoC is physically larger, die for die, than it's competition (Tegra/OMAP/Exynos). They went with more expensive components and made a larger die, which was what no one else was willing to do. NVIDIA's Tegra 2 is the absolute smallest, and it's crippled with no NEON, and a GPU that can't properly decode HD video.

    The 4430 isn't better than Exynos. It's just a choice Google made since the PowerVR GPU's are based on USSE2 shaders, and the CPU is pretty strictly ARM reference, with a few things added on for performance. Google is going for standards, and OMAP provides that where Exynos doesn't. Exyno's GPU is based on non-unified pixel/vertex "cores" (shaders).

    If you disable the browser plug-ins in the Android Browser, it runs the same as it would on iOS... skipping the Flash "branching test". :)

    AFAIK ICS supports hardware acceleration.

    It says "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below".

    Indeed, it does. And it's enabled by default for the first time.

    Gingerbread has hardware acceleration also, but it's only for certain things... window transition animations being #1. It's just dependent on the user to enable it, most of the time.

    debug.sf.hw=1

    Enable that and you have hardware acceleration on Gingerbread. :)

    And 48k without flash :cry:

    What ROM are you using?

    Yes, I knew that the GPU is miles ahead of the Mali, but I didn't know that a die increase could give up THAT much performance...

    Yep. It can.

    Die sizes:
    Tegra 2 = 43mm^2
    A4 = 53.3mm^2
    OMAP4 = 69.7mm^2
    Exynos = 118mm^2
    A5 = 122mm^2

    Apple's A5 is, by far, the most expensive to produce... but it's performance makes up for it.

    Given it doesn't ship with ICS and still has some sort of Blur on it, my gut reaction is that it's still mostly Motorola at the helm.

    This is basically why I'm not buying it. The hardware and form factor is pretty impressive, but Blur and all that crap is a step backwards from the pure experience. Instead of adding to Android, it takes away.

    I'm generally against rooting my phone. I'll tinker with a computer on a deeper level, but I don't really feel like getting into the nuts and bolts to have a decent user experience. That's why I like the pure devices and why I'll probably get the Galaxy Nexus. I think the ICS UI is as close to perfection as I can imagine.

    The deal breaker about the SGN for me is the lack of a micro SD slot.
    But you are right, the ICS UI does seem very, very nice.
