Interesting that the "stock-out" date would be the same as the "stock-in" one.
And I understand what a street date is but they don't show that on the inventory screen.
It must be coming out soon because Engadget has a hands-on of the VZW one:

Is there such a thing as a signal booster for phones?
-
Ugh I got another Stratosphere with the random reboot issue. Caught it just a few minutes ago: pushed the power button, screen lit up...saw live wallpaper freeze...tried to slide the puzzle piece to unlock and screen wen't blank with buttons lit.
This is beyond frustrating. At this point I need to call later today and see if i'm extended 30 more days as far as returns go...if not then I need to figure out what to replace it with asap as my og droid is dead.
UGH. -
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
I knew VZW wasn't targeting the high end with the stratosphere, but damn. Two in a row?!
-
Yeah, two in a row. Both the original and this replacement were from Amazon....I wonder if I'd be better off trying direct from Verizon (they said it's my choice) or not.
In any case the decision just to skip this thing altogether depends on how my return/exchange window is setup through amazon: if I get another 30 days to use this then I'll exchange it again. If the exchange window is still based on my initial order, I'll need to find a replacement diff. model phone as I really don't want to chance my luck with a third stratosphere w/out a way to return it.
It's a damn shame as I love the phone except for this and the majority of other users seem to be just fine (perhaps it's rebooting so infrequently that people don't realize that's they have the problem since it would be in a pocket or in a cupholder or whatever...I suspect that's true with many people's stratospheres at this point...) -
When did you initially purchase? If the exchange-window allows, replace it with Galaxy Nexus on Thursday! Woot!
-
Android tip of the day: I love Swype. But no arrows was bugging me. Well just touch the Swype button at lower left and drag to right to the SYM key and voila... arrow keys. Just tap the ABC button to get back.
Tapatalk from my Samsung Galaxy Player 5! -
Wonderful, Titanium Backup decided to make all my backups 0KB.
-
Well, it's not really the same, it's 2 years later... and it's probably just a placeholder.
The reason there's no street date is because there's no street date, Verizon hasn't announced it yet.
I would like to think it's right around the corner, but that's the frustrating thing, it's been right around the corner for a month and a half. -
Anyone know of an alternative to Titanium?
-
I would take the risk and say Nandroid?
You can use the backup feature on CWM Backup/restore menu in Recovery Mode... -
Nandroid does the whole phone though, i just want apps backed up
But nvm, think i figured out the issue, i ran out of free space lol -
Oh, fair enough
Out of free space?!
You should get a 32GB SDHC, it's definetly worth it! -
I have a 16GB, cant afford any higher
one day i will
-
Ahh... you are correct... my eyes fail me again.
Yeah... I hear ya'... VZW seems to have a track record with delaying phones... but for all we know... ICS isn't ready for "Prime" time yet (Transformer pun intended). -
Ohh, I so wanted to take it and run.
-
No reboots so far today, Me thinks that the two I saw were a fluke. Meh I'll just keep the damn thing!
-
My little brother bought a crappy Rezound, even though I told him not to, and then returned it for an iPhone.
I'm the only one in my family that hasn't bought into the iCult. Except for my mom, but she's using an LG Octane, so she doesn't count.
Edit: http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-57337240-1/galaxy-nexus-to-arrive-in-u.s-on-friday-report-says/
Not sure how legit the source is, but hopefully they're right. I wish the price point was a little lower. -
I really wished the rumor that its price is $199 was true, or that Verizon offered a 16gb version for that price.
-
Same, it's not that I don't think the phone is worth it, and I'm totally going to buy it, but I just don't want to spend that much money around the holidays! And I just bought a new couch!
-
I'm guessing it's a good couch to crash in and explore your new phone?
-
I think I might've just won an Atrix.
-
Maybe the Nexus will hit Dec 9?
Galaxy Nexus lands in Verizon stores December 9th, Droid 4 on the 8th -- Engadget -
That's what it looks like. Fingers crossed!

And it's been confirmed! I'm so excited! xD

With Icecream Sandwich around the corner what can we expect?
I hope they tinker with the web browser to get it to run smoother, for some reason or other it seems to hang and not load pages and websites fast enough on my tablet.
Looking to add a ASUS Transformer Prime to my collection and hope the web browser loads a bit faster. -
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Oh yes, you can expect improvements in browser performance with certain SoC's. It's all in how much they can optimize libwebcore.so for the hardware. ICS and OMAP4/Exynos has been worked on extensively. Tegra has to pretty much be optimized by NVIDIA since their stuff is closed and proprietary. -

So you did win an Atrix? -
I'm 99% certain.
I received an e-mail saying my store had won this week's prize in Motorola's Christmas competition.
It didn't say what the prize was though.
I forwarded it on to my manager who in turn because he's very nosy contacted our Motorola rep who apparently told him the prize this week is an Atrix with a 'work and play' bundle, which apparently is the lap-dock and the multimedia dock.
Nominally the prize was won by the store but as I'm the person who's done all the work towards it, my manager has told me it's all mine.
So I think I have but I'm not 100% certain yet. -
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
LOL. Sounds pretty certain to me.
Let me know what you think of it. -
Getting the accessories with it is a nice touch.
Then again, the handset's free on contracts of ~£15/month, so it's probably not costing them too much.
The first week's prize is supposedly the top one, aside from the overall prize for the month. I guess it says something that they weren't willing to offer a RAZR...
I was having a look earlier, it seems that whilst the Atrix is not listed on the CyanogenMod site, there is a CM7 port for it - unfortunately you lose the alp-dock and fingerprint reader functionality, which are about the only two things it's got going for it.
Oddly, the Defy is listed on the CyanogenMod site. -
So close I can almost taste it.
-
Update, It rebooted before I went to work at 5 pm today....when I was typing a message in Tapatalk.
Can't. take. it. It's going back. -
With that 10 cent apps thing theres some pretty good deals. The swiftX keyboard, Minecraft Pocket edition, soundhound... more to come every day too.
-
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Indeed, x2. Still an expensive phone though. And 1GB of RAM is always nice.
Try my Atrix ROM.
It's CM7 based, and while the docks don't currently work, I'm fixing to add FP-Reader functionality.
-
More to come every day? Wow. For $0.10 why not?
-
I was gonna get Asphalt Adrenaline but they have it listed as incompatible
idiots, I've loaded in the apk and it works fine.
-
Has anyone been able to find a carrying case for the Galaxy Nexus? This phone is a bit longer than most devices so it's a very tight fit in most "large" cases.
-
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Use Root Explorer and change your fingerprint and device name to a GT-I9000. Then pretty much everything in the market will work fine. You also need to disable any DPi enhancements.
Meanwhile, Verizon is being Verizon...
Verizon filching Google Wallet from US-bound Galaxy Nexus -
Thanks, I'll definitely take a look once I've got it.
In sort of related news, didn't win a place on the trip to Vegas with SE.
Didn't even make it into the list of 15 runners-up, which is a combination of a slap in the face and not a huge surprise. -
I guess I'm getting a new phone next week.
-
Good news, between now and January first, I get to pick a different phone from Amazon Wireless.
Bad news: It's a one time offer. That and I have to pay upgrade price for it first, and get reimbursed when the defective stratosphere goes back.
The question is, would a third time really be the charm? Or at this point, should I not risk it and consider something else. If so, what device? (i know, nexus, but price..it's out of budget) -
Second batch is here.. $.10 for an app is essentially free 0_O
-
Sell a kidney... buy the Nexus
-
I have a bathtub, access to ice, sharp knives and twist ties....I think its possible.
-
H.A.L. 9000 Occam's Chainsaw
Ahh.. Dr. House style I see. Take pictures!
-
Anyway to get the apps without having an android device registered with your google account? I'm getting the fire for christmas and for 10 cents I don't see any reason not to try a few of these apps but it won't let me buy them since I don't have an android device currently..
-
Where is that? In build.prop?
