Apple iPhone XR Prices Drop In Japan As Rumors Of Slow Sales Performance Linger Hothardware.com | Now, 27
Japanese Apple fans will soon be able to get the iPhone XR at a discounted price; new NTT DOCOMO customers will be able to save roughly $100 over the life of their plan. The price reduction is part of Apple’s rumored plan to cut back on 2018 iPhone model production.
The iPhone XR is the least expensive 2018 model, but its repairs could also potentially be quite expensive. If you do not have AppleCare+, a single screen replacement will cost $199. Many consumers simply do not buy Apple CEO Tim Cook’s argument that the hefty price tag is justified. Customers overall are opting for the older, less expensive models and this preference is currently reflected in the Japanese market.
When will Apple start with discounted prices (or just lower the price) in rest of the world market? When it's too late?![]()

There is only so many times apple can roll a turd in glitter and call it gold. The market is on to them, and have been since the 8. Maybe even the 7.

Apple has reportedly reduce orders from iPhone component suppliers again. According to DigiTimes, a "second wave" of order cuts is beginning to bring pain to some Taiwanese manufacturers. Apple is continuing to blame poor sales of the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR for the order reductions.
Apple is staring down a potential crisis. Despite stellar reviews, the company’s latest iPhones are not selling as well as they had hoped, forcing the Cupertino King to cut orders from suppliers, reduce prices, and even restart production of last year’s iPhone X. Apple might be trudging deeper into the woods, though; the Taiwanese news outlet DigiTimes is reporting that Apple has initiated a “second wave of order reduction” from some of its biggest suppliers.
When will the third wave cuts come?Or shall we rather say the first wave of new ones? (New month soon and a new start of countdown).

Not a price cut! Apple perks up soggy iPhone demand with rebate boost Theregister.co.uk | Nov 28th
Apple’s decision to make only incremental changes to its product, while continuing to increase prices, is now a mistake, some analysts believe. The latest bear, Wedbush’s Daniel Ives, cut his stock price target for Apple today and expressed the belief that Apple needs to “seriously contemplate changes for the next cycle of iPhones”.Last edited: Nov 28, 2018 -
Apple’s behavior itself is enough to make suppliers queasy. The company has stopped reporting unit sales and its marketing strategy seems to have changed too. Apple is now offering different promos, discounts, and trade-in offers, probably in the hopes that people will upgrade their older iPhones. Even the iPhone XR, which was expected to sell in droves has not performed well in the market, according to analysts. It remains to be seen what Apple’s next move is going to be from hereon. Maybe STOP with promos, discounts, and trade-in offers and rather flat out start reduce the awful pricesLower it 30 or 40% is an ok start.

I will give a hint on how to get better standby time and SOT like iOS 10. Use privacy guard or startup manager to disable app at bootup and other background tasks. My rooted android test phone has impressive standby time like iphone 7 on iOS 10.3.3. -
Because I think farce ID is crap, and I get amazing battery life now. I am a heavy user and at the end of the day I’m usually at 60% battery on average.

Microsoft says it is time for government regulation of facial recognition Betanews.com | Dec, 7th
Facial recognition is becoming more widely used in both general computing and in the wider world. Smartphones and computers can be unlocked with your face, but the technology is also used for security and policing purposes.
While most uses are legitimate and helpful, there is scope for abuse. Microsoft thinks it is time for regulation to help avoid this. The company is calling on government around the world to introduce new laws, but also on the technology industry to introduce safeguards to protect against abuse and bias. -

I did pick up a new speck case which is totally off topic, but it’s the best case I have owned. I had one on my 1020 and now on my iPhone.

I think your battery meter is lying or somehow you got a golden battery with higher capacity. I think its the latter. -
Nope. My wife has the same results

I'll wait for couple of days because battery life is utter crap.

May have to get the battery replaced under the program by the sound of it.

Its 100% SW crap. I'll keep everyone updated. -
Do a reset too. Like I said, my wifes and my iPhone 8 and 6s on 21.1.1 work great with awesome battery life. Our 8s are obviously better since the 6s has three years of use.

Just as I predicted, there is some serious pushback from consumers (finally) on how Apple is pricing their new phones. The XR is a crap phone for 750$, nobody wants to pay that for a "budget" device when the 450$ 7 is almost nearly as good. The XS/XS max are too pricey, I think we've found the roof for the price of phones. 700$ is plenty enough for a flagship device. Apple's greed has cost them, and I hope it continues to do so. Production and component orders slashed across the XS, XS max, and XR. Stop being greedy Apple.
How far they have strayed:
iPhone 6S/SE in my opinion, was peak iPhone time. Still strong devices today if they are refreshed with new batteries. -

Additionally, the US$ price tag for the 1TB Galaxy S10+ is a record breaker. If this report turns into fact, then Samsung will have the honor(?) of manufacturing one of the world’s most expensive (partially) mainstream smartphone. Thoughts? Consumers Have Spoken, 2018 Apple Products Were Too Expensive
Have consumers finally had enough of Apple's efforts to jack iPhone pricing into the stratosphere? There are numerous warning signs suggesting that this is the case. However, Apple's decision to not breakdown sales numbers for iPhones, Macs and...
The Morons talk...
For his part, Apple CEO Tim Cook contends that there is a lot of expensive technology that goes into its products, which justifies the high cost. “If you look at even at the phone that’s priced over $1,000, most people pay about $30 a month for an iPhone or $1 a day,” Cook explained. “People want the most innovative product available, and it’s not cheap to do that.”Vasudev likes this. -
Exactly as I had predicted. Apples greed has created significant pushback, and it’s about time they suffer for it.
http://time.com/5492878/apple-stock-iphone-sales/
Apples reasoning is still WRONG. It’s not “economic slowdown”, it’s the fact that outrageously priced phones will not sell. When phones start out pricing decent gaming LAPTOPS, we have a problem. “Weak overseas markets” ******** iPhone SE was selling like hot cakes because it was a fine, gimmick free, premium, affordable device.Spartan@HIDevolution, hmscott and Vasudev like this. -

Tim Cook's letter to investors wasn't just a warning about the upcoming quarterly results—it was a sign that things could be changing at Apple.
Prices may drop
The most obvious way for Apple to boost growth is to lower prices. 2018 ushered in a disturbing trend, as prices rose significantly across all of Apple’s product lines. Unsurprisingly, Tim Cook failed to mention this fact in his letter, but it’s hard to believe that higher prices didn’t deter people from upgrading. During the lead-up to Christmas Apple pulled out every trick in its arsenal to boost sales, including raising the credit on trade-ins, but nothing gets people to open their wallets quicker than an honest-to-goodness price cut.
Fake Price cut doesn't do a ****y! When will Apple-Cook understand this?
Vasudev and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -
Lol Tim Cook points fingers at everything except the prices. Earlier today he blamed Chinese economy slowdown, now he is blaming the 30$ battery replacement service for slowing down iPhone sales.
I’ll have whatever he is drinking, must be fun being paid big bucks to be delusional all the time.Vasudev, Papusan and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

This time they might price iphones close to 4000$(512GB or more) and after a year the refurb for the model will drop to 400$.
Apple must die for now and kicked out of the market for good. -

Ha ha. I do believe 100 percent that you will see actual innovation from apple this year. Their stocks dropped 30% in 6 months. That's BRUTAL. Also, Tim and JOHNNY ive are on thin ice too!
-
They should fire Tim, hire me for 750,000 a year no bonuses etc, and I will have some innovative coming from apple within a year. I don't care how they have to engineer it, not my problem. JUST MAKE IT.
Take the millions of dollars you save from not paying Tim, and put it into engineering! ha ha ha.Last edited by a moderator: Jan 6, 2019hmscott, Starlight5 and Vasudev like this. -

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
I'll keep the minimalistic Type-C/TB3 only (+headphone jack) philosophy, though - and develop a selection of docking stations to make business users happy while keeping both Apple's accessory department and third-party dongle makers fed.
