nope sli won't work with two gpus only ati.
unless you flash your card to a 9800m gtx which i wouldn't recommend. and i think you will get a performance hit
a single 9800m gtx will out performance that sli at higher res

1. Nope that is not possible.
2. 9700M GTS's dont have drivers for that SLI setup. And In some instances anyway, a 9800M GTX may outperform them even if they could be in SLI.
3. for a 9700M GTS, remember it is a proprietary module, so it will only attract x300/x305 users, but i'm sure everyone has a 9700m gts or 9800m gtx. but i'm sure you might be able to run away with $200 at the most. and with a p7350, $125 at the most. -

for 50$ more from this buyer, here is an x9100, compatible with out laptop?

Yes it's compatible, only issue is that its an engineering sample. I don't like ES's.
-
dondadah88 Notebook Nobel Laureate
i had a qx9300 es and it was fine.
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
what are the noticable differences? for 300$ less and nothing huge, its gotta be worth it. he seems like a reputable dealer, not 1 complaint.
dont know anything about ES, but he says its the final version and is the same as the OEM release ( stability wise) just has an ES at the end of the name -
Yeah, ES is an engineering sample, and I don't trust it because intel might change the stepping or do some little tweaks, etc. I don't trust it for longevity. But idk it may be fine.
-
As long as you get CO stepping ES is fine--not EO stepping. Most of the low cost X9100's and QX9300's I've seen on Ebay are EO stepping.
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
whats the differences between CO and EO, because that link is EO
X9100 QHBQ is E0 ES Final version, Someone also call Qualification Sample
All Function、Spec、Stability、Performance the same with X9100 OEM Retail ,
only extra show a "ES" symbol in CPU-Z software
is that true (taken from ebay page) -
Here's a C0 stepping X9100 $565

no e0 is the way to go for overclocking at least.
if you can't overclock then get the t9900 -
I don't know that our BIOS supports E0 stepping. Can you run CPU-Z and see which stepping revision we are running?
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
yea i was reading on google and they say that e0 can be overclocked alot more, and that its newer with fewer problems.
and would the x9100 extreme be more powerful than the t9900?
and if its not and not a real noticable difference, ive seen that the t9900's can be pretty expensive.
and from what ive seen, this looks pretty good for that price.

Intel published a new document PCN (Product change notification) which report that several processors : core2 Of duo: T9600, T9400, P9500, P8600, P8400 and Core2 extreme x9100 will be updated .
These centrino 2 processors will obtain a new stepping , according to the producer , it will influence the operation speed of these processors. New stepping, will bring change in CPUID from 00010676h to 0001067Ah (Bios update will be required), and also values S -Spec and mm, it will allow CPU to work at higher frequencies without change in electrical and mechanical components.
T9600, T9400, P9500, Core2 extreme x9100 stepping will be updated from C -0 to E -0, and the models p8600, P8400 will be updated from M-0 to R-0. These processors in the wholesale parties will become accessible for users on 8 December .
My p8400 has M0 stepping... I wonder which version the x300 x9100 users have C0 or E0...I'd bet C0 and knowing Toshiba there have been no BIOS revisions for the E0's.
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
lol, well i gotta wait till i get money
but im upgrading from a 2.0GHz p7350, so i should notice a big performance increas (hopefully), since i do alot of photoshop etc.
CPU: / CORES / ......CLOCK ... / FSB .... / L2
X9100 / 2 /........ 3.06 GHz/ 1066 MHz / 6 MB / 45nm
P7350 / 2 /........ 2.00 GHz / 1066 MHz / 3 MB / 45nm
hoping its a big performance increase for photoshop, cpu intensive games etc.
so your saying that the E0's are the newest, and can be used at its fully capabilities if toshiba publishes a BIOS update? -
I'm saying That I would not proceed with the purchase of an E0 stepping processor until you have confirmation that Toshiba BIOS support exists otherwise your computer will not boot with error need BIOS revision.
We can possibly get confirmation if one of the X300 users will come forward and post a screenshot of CPU-z showing an E0 stepping revision. -
Thanatospy has an x9100, maybe one of us should shoot him a PM?

just did, thanks for the post. asked him if he could either tell me if in his cpuid it says E0 or C0, and if he has the newest BIOS updates.
and/or post a screenshot of his window of cpuid
but im guessing that if u dont even have a BIOS update since it applies to yours, dont think he will either.
worse comes to worse, hes got another one, C0 and its p9500

Called national parts warehouse 8005248383 and checked on the backlighted keyboard pn: V0190720 and it's $80 plus shipping.
Not in stock but they said it would take a couple days to get it. Think I'm going to order one tomorrow and be the "guinea pig" that finds out if it works.
If for some reason I can't get it to work with my Qosmio, should be able to sell it to an A500 user with non illuminated keyboard to recoupe some of my losses. -

its quite a far bit back now from just posting it at 5 in the morning (been up for 31 hrs), but heres my OC's
superoverclocked, barely stable:
GPU: 696/1050/1800
RAM: 7/6/6/15
8412 3Dmark06
super O/C'd, but stable:
GPU: 695/995/1795
RAM: 7/6/6/17
8394 3Dmark06
stock settings:
GPU: 530/799/1325
RAM: 7/7/7/20
6750 3Dmark06 score
if i go any higher, the driver will flicker quite a bit, lower framerates to low teens, random flashes and sometimes the driver will crash.
cant get what dude55 has, but o well, at least i can play crysis warhead high, with a few on medium -
That is nice to start with. Don't forget that every grapich card is diffrent. Overclock results will never be the same... I have one overclock - profile, I only use it when I benchmark. RAM timings are always applied at start-up...
PS: Your signature is too big, suggest you to edit it before you get warned by a mod... -
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
yea i kno, but o well, its not taking up anymore room than other sigs (height wise) affecting the length of the forum.
and i was wondering about that, what is the best and safest RAM timing to have it always running at? i just set everything back to default when im not doing anything intensive -
I have mine always at 7-6-6-15. This setting never gives me a problem... MemSet auto-load it for me at start-up
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
possible to overclock my cpu at all? heard 1 person doing this. anyone attempt if its even possible?
-
I don't know about p7350. I can't overclock my T9600 becouse we can't find the PLL. Maybe you also is stuck at this point...
-
The X305-Q706's and 8's with Nvidia chipset can overclock CPU with Nvidia system tools via FSB not multiplier. Raising the front side bus has the side effect of overclocking everything connected to FSB.
-
Ah, also If I don't remember wrong MemSet dosn't work on nVidia Chipsets...
-
Yes memset does not work for Nvidia chipset but memory timings can be adjusted with Nvidia system tools.
-
That is even better
-
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
i dont have anything but the gpu, why?

Nice, I miss CPU overclocking feature

Do you have nVidia system tools installed ? And Do you have nVidia chipset ?

what does this mean? what could i use to change mem timings? i was using memstat, with nvidia for overclocking gpu -
I still can't beat Tunays t9600 9800m gtx combo 3dmark06 score.

does 3d06 or vantage us SLI? or does it just not show?
and dude55, what else did u do to get 8825 3d06 score? u left all settings default right?
max i can get is 8400, and the max clock i can go is 695/1000/1880, with ram 7/5/5/15
did u change anything else? -
i just closed out all background processes till i was around 50, overclocked to 703/1003/1803, then put ram to 7/6/6/15.

tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
alright im going to try to get it up as high as i can later.

He whats up. I found this lovely thread on google. I have the X305-Q705. I picked it up from BB for $950 back in December. I was curious if anyone ordered the V000190720 keyboard (originally from the A500/A500L/D Series) and tried to fit it.
I called NPW (800-524-8338) and the lady that I talked to said that it would probably not work due to the connector possibly being different. But I was also looking at upgrading my LCD panel from a WXGA+ to a WSXGA+. They did say that the K000061290 or K000052210 will work. They are actually Samsung LTN170P1-L02-S and LG LP171WE3-TLA3 panels. Now I have replaced LCD's in laptops before but only with identical panels. My questions is will the connectors match up?
Has anyone tried upgrading their LCD panel?
Let me know.

Hello Tim, I am actually going to try the A500 backlit keyboard and I will report immediately the results. I found through various parts suppliers that Toshiba used two 1680x1050 screens. One of Toshibas WSXGA screens was Samsung the other LG. I have no confirmation which is best.
I have read reviews that were lukewarm on the WSXGA screen but I get oohs and ahhs whenever I boot up in public. Wondering if the discrepency lies in the two screen manufacturers. btw, I have no idea which manufacturer produced my screen. When disassembling, never needed to look at the back of my LCD. -
OOPS! I actually edited your post!
I inserted," I am thinking that there probably is no difference in the ribbon cable connectors since there is only one part number available for that part." into your post!
