I know that hdmi is enabled in BIOS cause it works with older nvidia drivers and i tried using nvidia control panel for multiple monitors but it just doesn't work.
It seems with newer drivers, the laptop doesn't know how to communicate with the tv.
It must be cause toshiba has some kind of special function in their drivers which enables hdmi connection.
Im just trying to figure out how to make it work with newer drivers![]()

Reboot and press F2 and make sure HDMI is enabled in BIOS. Sometimes different driver installations change BIOS settings.(it's a Toshiba thing)
-
I've updated drivers to latest nvidia 186.81 from their website, then I went into bios and all i found was hdmi-cec which was enabled. The hdmi is still not working. Any other ideas?
-
I can use HDMI with 185.85 DOX drivers, but no sound...
-
Someone tell me how well Windows 7 runs on the x300. Do the FN buttons work correctly? I suppose Toshiba may release another value added package to fix this if they (the FN keys) currently don't work.
-Jump -
Is it possible to run this straight from the mains whilst the battery is unplugged? I know charging and discharging harms the battery...
-Jump -
I've tried dox 185.85 drivers but still laptop freezes when hdmi cable is plugged in. Still have no idea why this is happening since he said it works for him
-
Toshiba has not relased a value added package for Win7 yet. I have searched at Toshibas driver page for my own model...
Yes this is possible, I have used it like that for few months. But now I have my battery pluged in...
It worked for me. Can you try with another HDMI cable ? Maybe your is faulty ? -
Thanks for the reply Tunay, i've just unplugged the battery and it works just like normal.. now i just have to safely store the battery somewhere lol.
I'll check around for a value added package on Win 7 release day, and post links here if no one else has
-Jump -
lol yea, I had problems with finding my battery but after for about 30 min of searching in my house I found it
I also follow the Win7 compeltable Value Added Package. I will of course add it here if I find one.
Cheers... -
Got my 1333mhz ram today and it is running @1333mhz but I can't raise fsb with nvidia system tools to what I could with 1066 hynix modules. With 1066 ram am able to get cpu to 2.545 stable, no crashes or bsod ever. This 1333 ram I get a hard lock screen freeze can't move the cursor or do anything with the keyboard. Tried 291mhz fsb and didn't get the hard lock but did get bsod after a few minutes. Tried downclocking to 1066 with same results.
-
Bro, I didin't fully got it is this a bad news or good news
-
I think it is good news that the system can handle 1333mhz ram but bad news that I can't oc my P8400. Just tried raising fsb to 301mhz and as soon as I tried running vantage it BSOD.
-
Hmm, understand. This is good news for users with intel chipset then. Do you think my intel chipset can handle it ?
-
-
I think so, check kingston or crucial memory finder with your model.
-
Sweet, you can maybe break my 3dmark now
Is there any performance improvments ?
Okay, thanks. I try this when 4GB modules ara available. So I can upgrade to 8GB... -
4gb modules are available but pricey.
-
Not if I can't oc my processor btw, I ran the memory benchmarks in everest and this 1333 performs worse by quite alot than the 1066 modules. -
Okay, thanks. The problem is I have so much school work and things to do. I'm going crazy soon
Last time I ran 3DMark06 was in July or something. My Qosimo is not powred on for one day now, maybe friday I can.
-
There is something strange with those modules. What do you think ?
-
Raising the fsb with Nvidia system tools also raises the memory frequency which is already high at 1333mhz.
-
Yea, know that but they should have a little way to go...
-
For the qosmio x305 hdmi problem, It has been solved. Toshiba has released new drivers, 186.42 at their website csd.toshiba.com So hope everyone's happy with that cause I am. On their website the drivers are listed in the windows 7 category but it will work with vista. Good luck!
-
X300-13o is not listed at csd.toshiba.com

tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
i have a really big question:
i brought my laptop in for service about 4 weeks ago and just got it back today. they were changing the cover around the lcd screen.
today i noticed in NVIDIA control panel that the laptop display now says Seiko laptop display. now i never remember it saying seiko.
now that i really look at the screen, there seems to be a yellow colour around the whole border when the colour is white, and i dont think i ever noticed that before.
so i have 3 questions:
1. could someone look at their NVIDIA control panel and look under dual monitor displays if it says seiko laptop display
2. could someone open up firefox and go to google, then drag the window to the bottom of the screen (so the white color is along the bottom of the screen) and see if there is a yellow glow
3. is there a way to tell what screen i have in my laptop w/o actually opening it up?
the only reason i think is if they changed the display is if the accidently broke it and replaced it with a cheaper one without telling me.
thanks -
try everest mine says generic display
-
Ah, I can look at mine too this night. Typical Toshiba, I'm not surprised!
-
Hey guys getting my new hard drive soon cant wait.... it it ture that you cant get highter than 5.9 windows index beacuse it resreved for ssd
The reason i ask it beacuse i was going to get the 500 sg 7200.4.... but i see there is an Constellation, it's for a server and not a notebook right ? -
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
mine is Samsung LTN170X2-L02
is there any way to tell what screen should have came with my laptop?
thanks -
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
and could someone else who bought this laptop from canada's bestbuy look in the everest program to see if i have the same monitor
if someone could, that would be great. -
You can follow this LINK and put your model number in to search.
-
tornbacchus GO leafs.. Wait, Nevermid
well mine is an x300, which are the ones from canada.
but anyways, the edges seem to be getting worse. in the bottom right hand corner, it is really bright and offcolored. im def calling tomorrow.
im really pissed now. my laptop was in for 4 weeks and just got it back 2 days ago. now im probably going to have to leave it for another month, making several trips back and forth.
i need the laptop for school. im going to call tomorrow and really start screaming. they are going to fix my screen for free since they def broke it, and they WILL fix it on the spot. im not leaving it there.
the company im talking about is metafore, a company that repaires toshiba laptops. -
Are you trying this driver with Vista x64? It only lists 32-bit drivers. I have a Canadian X300, but the driver seems to be for most models of the X300 so I am willing to try it if it works with Vista 64-bit. The Canadian website still has the old 175.90 driver, and nothing I've tried so far has worked with HDMI. Red Faction Guerrilla is giving me video issues, I'm thinking that I may need to update the video driver to solve this, as it doesn't matter which video quality I am on. Thanks! -
The 32-bit drivers won't work on 64-Bit OS...
-
Yes, I know they won't. But I can't imagine only Canadian X300s come with Vista x64, so I was hoping someone was able to get a 64-bit driver working that wasn't listed properly, or find another one somewhere else that doesn't stop HDMI from working.

Hello, im a new owner of a X305-Q706 (adquired 1 week ago), i like the notebook and his performance, better than the burning XPS 1640 that i had before (it was stolen from my car), the only problem that i found on my rig is that he didnt came with a OS disk like my old dell, because the Vista that came installed even with too much trials dont support my 4gb of ram (is 32 bits), do you know how to reinstall the OS enabled with 64 bits? (i hear that a copy from the re-installer of Vista cames in the Recovery partition, that also enables me to reinstall it with 64 bits)
P.D: Sorry for my english, i speak spanish
-
I am not 100% sure, but I think if you (make and) use your recovery cd's that you can use the recovery partition and select a 64 bit version. If you know someone with a Vista disk you could install home premium x64 and validate it with the product key on the bottom of the notebook.
-
the x305-706/708 came with the 2 versions of windows vista, (32 and 64bits) use the toshiba sistem restore utility then select witch 1 you want to use, btw they release updated drivers for win7, finally the direct acces keys are working!
-
I AM BACK AGAIN! Was busy doing A LOT of stuff. School started as well. I should now log on a few times a week and try to be more active.
Anyway, what are the highlights of the past 2 weeks?
Hows everyone doing? -
Hi Dude55, and welcome back!
Nothing special, school and that stuff you know
What about you ?
Shin_TMS: If you could get a Vista x64 cd you can install it and use your 32-bit key it will automaticly turn into a 64-bit key
