    This made me lol.
I were on my phone, as I managed to kinda mess up my ASUS too.

Now, the thing is, everything is fine, but the new CPU I got, is kinda defect.

It killed my Qosmio, in someway, I got it back to life, don't ask me how, well, in a way, the new CPU killed one of my Toshiba HDDs. don't ask me how.

I then put the new CPU in my ASUS laptop, which I were able to boot up 1 time before it also went down.

I just sent a email to the seller.

    updated, check post under!

I also need a new palmrest and another bottom cover......................................

Yep. I contacted him and whithout any problem he said I could return the CPU. However, I still don't get how the CPU can kill a HDD.

I would recheck the drive again in a different system, or when you get the new CPU.
Also it may have just been a freak coincidence that the drive went when it did.

My ASUS did the same, old CPU back and it were fine. It has the same nVidia chipset as X305s. Tried with diffrent BIOSes. It is nForce 730i.

Okay finally - I got my HP back!

Now, the thing is, I'm going to ship the CPU back to the seller again and get a new one from him.

I also dubt if I'll every build my Qosmio up again. I need a new palmrest, which is impossible to find.

Personally my palmrest does not have any broken parts.. Its just the red paint has started to come off due to use.. If I had knew how I would custom paint it! But I don't trust my skills in painting it!!

Well, some of my red parts, you know, where not hanging good. So I repainted it, still no good, removed it, awfull. Not any options left. Looking for a good 15" laptop, with a good gpu and support for extreme cpu.

I told u a long time ago that my dual gpus are working now since the underclock of memory from 800mhz to 750! I can play most games maxed 60-70fps+ ! SLI rocks now!! I really see the advantage of having it!

Well u know good things with toshiba is prices (always a lot cheaper for what u get) and crazy designs (some people love some hate I love the x300 design although I would prefer it to not deteriorate that easily) but the bad things are that u get no support since they don't know what is wrong with their gaming laptops. They have not had any gaming laptops before and they are just inexperienced. The service for fixing the laptop when it is under warranty is very good BUT if there is no hardware problem and u still have problems they don't have the experience to fix it. This is the 2nd year I own this laptop and it is now been 2months using the SLI. Something I should be able to use from beginning. I always though oh its because of old drivers and that I do some mistake in modifying them and that's why it freezes. But guess what, its toshibas mistake. I still believe the pci-e 2.0 x8 port bandwidth is not enough and thats y it freezes when in proper memory clocks of 800mhz. Thats y alienware m17x r1 had more problems with their 280m gtx sli since they have a lot more bandwidth and they have the same pci-e limitation (though dell came up with a similar fix, forcing the pci-e to run at speeds of v1.0 instead of v2.0). Both companies do mistake but at least alienware has the experience to fix things. I still love my qosmio since it is 3 years old and can still challenge the new qosmio models and even some alienware configs. But I pay the premium price for getting a working machine with support. Not giving another 2000 euro for a machine that needs time from me to fix. I have lots of experience with computers since I have been working for many pc-sellers/repairs but I had never run into such a problem. Obviously u were here with me when I told u all that I had tried. It's just that I never give up on something I know it can work. Finally after wasting 3 months of my life (around 4-5hrs every day on the laptop) I found this fix. Well my time is more cash than the extra price of an alienware!

This model is like a Ferrari car so it means the hight maintenance too but it's still the best one for me.

Even though the new core i series is a real temptation, and recently my friend bought sager 17" with Nvidia gtx460m, but my love is still with this qosmio.
Good or bad, I already think this laptop as a part of myself (kinda resembles myself also..hehe)

No, because I washed mine (without getting the palmrest and fp area wet) and moved all kind of stickers :/.

I also painted mine, actually, it does have a awesome look but, I'm not intrested to put more money in it. I have watched my own use, and I don't play games as I did before. It is mostley Skype and Facebook + emails.. So, I orded a Acer from the states yesterday, it is shipped and going to arrive 24 of June next week friday. I'm going to use my new Extreme CPU on that laptop and most likely buy a GTS 250M or something better from nVidia. We are talking about a 15" laptop with LED lcd, very good webcam, fingerprint reader and PM45 Chipset. I got the laptop for 400 USD and did pay a bit extra for the shippping for fast arriving and insurence. Laptop does come with a T6500 and GT 130M. But everything is upgradeable.. Ugh, and I did find Turkish layout keyboard, 'orginal', new, for 24 USD...

The LED LCD thing is the part I like most, when I did compare the X300 against my ASUSs screen, (ASUS had LED) the colors were much much better. Black was black, and not grey.

I also have the HP in my signature, but with a DDR2 GPU, it is getting a bit outdated... As I said, I don't game much anymore, but when I actually do, I play games like GTA IV, most likely cod mw3 and new bf.. I also want to try METRO as everyone is talking about, I want to see if it really is a good looking game or a bad port. The laptop in my signature is able to play GTA IV at medium. My X300 were able at high. With the extreme cpu, I hope to be able to max out GTA IV at very high with this new laptop...

Everyone is Acer forum is saying I'm trying on something impossible, because the extreme CPU will set the tempratures on fire :D But, you guys know me, the hp dv5 series laptop in my signature, have a idle temprature of 28/29C. Tell me, who have ever been able to do that? Ugh, and this is with my T9600 running at 2.93Ghz, EIST disabled...

I know! Same for me! I play games very rarely and when I do play they are demanding ones so qosmio can stand up to them on high settings for now. The only thing is the top cover which has slight damages to the color. Since it was made by a mistake from me its very obvious to me and want to change it but cannot find one!

Don't get me wrong, X300s are awesome machines.. But too big and heavy, I can get the same performance (maybe loose 5fps or so) with a 15.6" laptop :D

Well if ur talking about a new 15.6 laptop with a 460m and i7 yes u will get the same. But with the one u mentioned u won't get anywhere close to what I can get from the extreme processor and the dual 9800m .. So yes for a new 15.6inch laptop I agree but not for the config u told me!

    That is right.

But again to my point, I can upgrade this new laptop to a HD 6770M if I want. 9800M GTS is about 20% faster then 6770M. I have a Quad core with unlocked multiplier. The weight of the Acer is 2.5 KG, it has a 15,6" LED screen. 2 - 2.5 hours of batterylife. I mean, I can give 10-15 FPS in exchange for the mobility. At least for now, in about a month I'm going to Turkey, last year, it was a pain in my back to bring the Qosmio with me, it is awesome machine, awesome sound, awesome performance but it is heavy.. maybe too heavy for that extra 20 FPS.

    You get the picture?

    Little update here:

    I'm now having my own Owners therad, you can find me over here;

Okay people I have a question! If anybody knows it will be nice! Does anyone know if the qosmio x300 can display 3d on an external 3d screen via HDMI? I know that it will work with hdmi to dual dvi but what about hdmi to hdmi? I know that the qosmio x300 hdmi version is older so are there any issues? Thanks in advance! I am asking this since the screen I am looking to buy does not have dual dvi.. Only hdmi..

As long as it is above 200Hz it should work, or if the screen you buy is with other words 3D ready.. I'm afraid this therad is dead my friend, you can try ask in genereal upgrade section tou..

In theory yes I don't se a reason why HDMI to HDMI won't work.. But maybe the HDMI cable must also be 120hz captaible?
