And another thing...just have to get this off my chest...with all this interest in the CW, it shocks me that almost no one out there in the Computer World (in the USA at least) has written up an official review, such as Notebookreview (they don't even have it listed as a choice for their computer search), PC World, CNET, Engadget, etc...what's up with that!! I guess it could be an advantage though, being that likely even more folks would have been interested in the CW, thus more orders might have gotten cancelled because of the increased demand, maybe even before the week of Black Friday! -

True, I wouldn't call it a scam, just because you couldn't get it again at a better deal doesn't mean it's a scam. Be an earlier bird if you want the item. That laptop was on sale since when? Before blackfriday.....and the person ordered 29th like most of us here.

A couple of months ago, after I placed an order with Dell, after a few days they sent me an email saying..."If you don't notifying us within 24 hours, we will cancel your order", that's almost as bad, but at least they gave me the chance to not have it automatically cancelled.

I've been trying to work out some sort of pattern on why some people have their laptops delayed, why some are getting their laptops as promised, and why some people got their orders canceled, and honestly nothing makes sense.

Well for example, I ordered my laptop on the 29th, very late at night.
It is Jet Black, 500gb HD, GT230 chip, T6600 processor.
When I was ordering, I saw an estimated ship date of December 15th.
The next date I saw:

Estimated Ship Date: 11/30/2009
After calling a few times, and hearing different things from different people, I eventually got the same email someone else here got, that reads:
Due to the large number of requests for the [Model Number: US-VPCCW190X-LBOM VPCCW190X Configure-to-Order ], your estimated ship date has been delayed. I apologize for this inconvenience. I expect the product to arrive estimated on [12/15/2009], and your order will ship shortly thereafter.
So this is why a lot of this doesn't make sense to me. I've been following this whole thread, and there doesn't seem to be a pattern. -

I never got any Email from Sonystyle since , I read some posts they say they recived a build email .. Whats that? any idea..I called them yesterday and the estimated ship date is 12/09, But I haven't received any build mail till now... -
The only thing that I can think of is that they still might cancel my order, but I had a special email inquiry made where someone followed up on my case and still determined that I would get the laptop shipped out on or shortly after the 15th. -
Earlier they had the option of the 256MB or 512MB graphics card 230M with all colors expect Indigo, Indigo color comes only with 512MB...! so i think when they ran short of 512MB cards...they had to cancel a few orders, they canceled only the non Indigo colors...Even now on the Sony style website... they are allowing the 512MB 230m GPU only with Indigo color and not wirh other colors...!!! The bluray thing is still a mystery though...!!!
So i feel, they canceled some orders in order to meet the Indigo commitment...or probably they had a website bug which allowed non Indigo colors to choose the 230M GPU in the first place... and that 230m was always meant to be just with the signature indigo color...!!! (Exclusive or something...)...
These are just some thoughts...!!! I ordered Indigo and still havent recieved a cancellation email... (i seriously am wishing i dont...all of you please pray that no more orders get canceled...) -
Mine arrived at 2:44 PM!
I love the color as well, but I can see I'll have to carry a micro-fiber cloth around with it, as I'm likely to be regularly polishing smudges off of the palm rest. Still the color gradient on that palm rest looks fantastic.
Packaging was a bit different from the video and other pictures I've seen, with the computer suspended in a foam cradle. Should be better than the earlier all-cardboard system.
I'm in the middle of creating the backup discs, but ran into a snag... The first disc seemed to burn OK, but after I put in a second blank disc and the machine found it, I clicked the START button again as it says to... It started all right... Started on disc 1 again!So, I've just finished my second copy of disc 1. This time around, it's starting in on disc 2. Well, we'll see how it goes.
Update: Working on disc 3 now. It's interesting that when I started the application it seemed to indicate it would only take 2, but once it got to the progress screen, It showed 3.
With all the hard drive and burner activity, my CW is starting to warm up a little, but not very much at all compared to my old Dells. -
.....I'm just not liking their apology on my cancellation... it doesn't make me feel any better with $100 off. I tried complaining and they tell me there's no such thing as backorder or wait list. And the rep claim that the Nvidia 230 was ONLY a special offer on BlackFriday. That's a big lie because I ordered on the 29th and it was still Free upgrade.

Really? It was a deal that was on before Black Friday and til Dec 18th, kinda his fault since SonyStyle had the gt230 and blu-ray for free, you can kinda figure what is going to happen can't you? and I bet if he didn't post that and took his time finding another CW deal. He would of done it. rofl. Also SonyStyle didn't have us in a contract I don't think. Isn't it because they only charge the card when they ship it? Pretty sure JR.com had the same policy but they email you they said. SonyStyle does not.
JR.com still has the pink one and they shipped mine on Monday and I will be receiving it on Thursday. That's quickness.
and yes, I still believe it's the colors and GT230s they had but luckily and apparently they are receiving more GT230s not just for Purple I think but I saw that someone in white is somehow getting one? -
Calling them makes me wonder if they are all running different programs on their monitors... there is absolutely no uniformity.
I called 4 times since the 30th. I mentioned a few times that I heard of cancellations etc.
I still see shipping update, November 30th on the website since the 30th.
1st phone call: We're sorry, it looks like your order was delayed till the 15th.
2nd phone call: It seems to say the order was finished on the 30th... give it around 5-8 days and it should be shipped out and you should have it soon.
3rd phone call: Your order was delayed till the 15th.
4th phone call (right after the 3rd, I just wanted to hear someone else's opinion): Well it looks like it shipped out on the 30th, that's what it says...
Me: So there's nothing stated about it being delayed till the 15th?
Phone person: No... but let me send out an email inquiry. You will get an email about your case within 24 hours... and here is your case number...

I think pretty much whoever is receiving 100 dollar off ecoupon gets the canceled, while others who got "lucky" wait it out and get their laptops by next year.

I'm just going to say suckers and grats to all who received or will be receiving their CW's for their excellent job for ordering on time or finding another way.
And I don't really blame SonyStyle.com. Their online and phone help was helpful but online was alot faster than phone or email. But all their answers did come from somewhere and made sense. And I didn't blame them too much when they canceled my order because they really didn't know when they were receiving more GT230's.
