I searched on the official Vaio homepage (yes.. the japanese one..) and they offer a Windows 10 Upgrade package for our beloved Pro 13: Windows 10 Update For Pro13. This package comes with a complete new Vaio Control Center.

    To extract only this package:
    • Execute the whole package but when you are asked for UAC conformation don't click anything
    • Instead open a Explorer windows and go to (just copy the whole into your address bar:
      Code:
      %ProgramData%\VAIO Corporation\VAIO Packaging Manager\PackagingTemp\{6F4DB5FD-33B9-415C-B588-D7867F03D1F7}\Data\
    • Copy the VAIOControlCenter_1_3_0_07310 folder to your desktop
    • Press No on the UAC thing
    • Uninstall the old Control Center
    • Reboot
    • Install the new Control Center from your desktop

    Please report back.

Latest Version Sony Control Center: 6.4.5.11140
Lates Version Vaio Control Center: 1.3.0.07310

They also offer a Pro13 Mk2 version which is just awesome: http://vaio.com/products/pro_mk2/

I just installed the original Sony VAIO Control Center in it's latest version. The always-on backlit for the keyboard is working. So you had a old Sony Vaio Control Center, Shared Lib/SFEP or both :D

I get an error when installing "Copy the VAIOControlCenter_1_3_0_07310 folder to your desktop". Have no old version installed before.

"The software runs on Vaio Computers only..."

    Everything is running fine:
    Sony Firmware Extension Parser 8.0.2.5
    Sony Shared Library 6.2.0.07020
    VAIO Control Center 6.4.5.11140
I already posted links for SFEP and SSL. For VAIO Control Center you need to first install 6.4.0.10210 (search for EP0000313049) and then update to 6.4.5.11140 (search for EP0000322591).

    6.4.0.10210: http://dlv.update.sony.net/US/pc/SOAVCC-P0319333-0102.EXE

Yeah, I also just found out. The funny thing is that it comes with two scripts to get rid of the old Sony version...

For people who want to open/extract those new VAIO files:
    • Open with a HexEditor.
    • Change "ExtractPathByUser=0" to "ExtractPathByUser=1"
    • Change for "UseVAIOCheck=1" to "UseVAIOCheck=0"
The installation itself gets checked and handled via VAIOCheck.dll.

I first have to patch the VAIO check... before this it's not possible to use any of the VAIO software. I appreciate any help!

    ---

    Just a quick update:
Since the Sony Vaio Pro 13 and the Vaio Pro 13 share the exact same hardware it should be no problem to use everything they make (from BIOS to software...).

Is someone willing to register vaio.jp? :D

I need a dump of the Vaio Pro 13 stock BIOS. Could anyone provide me with one? There sadly is no download on vaio.com...

Thanks! Let's have a look at the SVP1322 (a upgraded version of the Pro 13.. only difference is the AC wifi module) BIOS. Thanks. I also had a look at the VJP131 and Mk2 BIOS but it's seems to be the same outdated version Sony offers...

The Vaio Button Programm is only for the Z-Series from Vaio afaik

And yeah.. Chrome gets the translation job done ;)

Hi guys, I am new to the forum and a owner of a Vaio Pro 13 Touch Ver.
I have recently updated to Windows 10 through the recommended pop-up window on my laptop.
After the update, i have not noticed any problems until today when I was trying to watch a youtube video.
The laptop only allowed me watch for around 3 min. and suddenly shut down as if it had been overheated.
I am not sure it is either a software or hardware prolem.
Has anyone experienced the same issue or it is just unlucky me?

    Hi,

I've encountered huge video playback problems on my SPV1321C5E, half of the screen was blurry on either youtube videos of mkv. It turns out it was related the X-reality video enhancer option on the viao control center. Disabling this option might help

Hi there ... my Pro 13 wont start anymore. No LED nothing. AC-Adapter is ok... Mainboard connector also ok. Volts/Ampere everything.

It suddently went off and can´t be turned on.

    Tried all hardware-reset tricks.

Maybe accu is fried. Does the Pro 13 require the internal accu for startup? With AC-adapter only and dismounted internal accu it didn´t start as well ore gives any sign of live.

The SSD survived. dismounted it as well...

Any opinions i might have? Will try a universal ac-adapter this noon. My guarantee ran out 2 months ago and ißm ****ing upset, got the i7 with 16gig ram and 256 gb ssd... 1500€ ... 2 years - not used often... dead by i dunno... :(

Wanted to put the mainboard in the oven to fix solder-problems (just kidding)....

Everything seems in check... not fried... and yet... no sign of live cant´s start with power-on-switch and neither with assist-button...
Anyone got a clue? As said... the onboard connector for power is also ok..

Hope someone has any ideas... due too everything onboard i could rather buy a new notebook before sending it to sony...

My Vaio has a 7260 ac wifi module from factory. Does anyone installed the new 7265 ?! If yes, anything worth the change? By the way, does anyone know what is the type of connector for the wifi module? is it msata or what?

Any new driver/software from Sony it self for the Win 10 ?!?

I have a genuine vgp-ac10v10 ac adapter for my vaio pro 13. It works and charges the notebook very well, but the usb port on the ac adapter stopped working. Could it be a fuse inside or will it be impossible to repair it? Any expertise welcome before i try to pry open the charger.

    Hello,

I have a problem with my Vaio Pro 13 where the external display I use switches off occassionally. It happens mainly in Google Maps or when watching Videos in Facebook or Youtube. On some displays (2K 60Hz) it happens every 5 seconds. It is independent of the cable used. Did anyone experience something similar? I already upgraded to the newest drivers from Intel HD Graphics and also use Windows 10.

Btw, it seems to work generally with 2K and 4K (30Hz) displays.

Offisiell Windows 10 support from sony is now live:

Windows 10 Upgrade Instructions for Sony VAIO PCs

Below are the steps for the Windows 10 upgrade process for VAIO PCs

Step 1 - Prepare your PC before installing Windows 10
Step 2 - Download a copy of Windows 10 from Microsoft
Step 3 - Begin the VAIO Update for Windows 10 Upgrade process
Step 4 - Install the Windows 10 Operating System
Step 5 - Install drivers, applications and utilities on your PC after installing Windows 10

IMPORTANT: If you have installed Windows 10 before reading this article, you can revert back to your previous Windows OS by looking at the following article: How to go back to a previous version of Windows after Windows 10 has been installed.

Step 1 - Prepare your PC before installing Windows 10

    1. Make sure your Sony VAIO PC is supported for Windows 10. Click here and go to the model selector to see if your system is supported.

Please ensure your operating system is updated to Windows 8.1 - click here for update instructions.
    2. Remove any third party devices and peripheral equipment connected to your PC.
    3. Make sure your PC is plugged into a working power outlet using the Sony AC adapter. Do not use battery power while performing this process.
    4. Create Recovery Media (Strongly Recommended)
      a. Recovery media is part of the recommended process to perform the upgrade install.
      b. Recovery media also enables you to return your PC back to the original OS if necessary.
    5. Perform a backup of your data.

IMPORTANT: If you back up your files, make sure you copy them onto external media, such as a USB Flash drive or CD/DVD discs, for use during the installation process.
    6. Make sure you have the Product Keys for any of your software that requires one for installation (example: Norton Anti-Virus, Kaspersky, Microsoft Office).
    7. Connect your PC to the Internet either via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.
    8. Launch "VAIO Update" and this will install the latest VAIO software to your PC.
    9. Launch "Windows Update" to make sure your PC has all the latest Microsoft OS updates.
    10. Launch your anti-virus software and check if it needs to be updated prior to upgrading to Windows 10. Your anti-virus software might be uninstalled during the Windows 10 upgrade process if it has not been updated to the latest version. Please visit your anti-virus software vendor's web site to confirm.
Step 2 - Download a copy of Windows 10 from Microsoft

    1. Confirm Hard Disk / SSD available space:
NOTE: You need at least 20 GB of available space on your hard disk or SSD. The required disk space may differ based on your PC configuration.
    2. Use the "Get Windows 10" app to reserve and download the Windows 10 upgrade.
      a. Click on the Windows icon on the lower right side of your PC task bar to check for the upgrade availability and to reserve your copy.

      b. If the Windows icon does not appear on the lower right side of your PC task bar, you can go to the Windows 10 support page and select "Upgrade to Windows 10" icon to download and run Microsoft's tool.

      c. If you cannot confirm the availability of the Windows 10 upgrade, please visit Microsoft's website for support:
      i. Windows 10 Support
      ii. Windows 10 Q&A
    3. If your PC qualifies for the Windows 10 upgrade, reserve your copy of Windows 10 and it will automatically be downloaded in the background. It may take several hours to days or even weeks to complete the download before Microsoft notifies you that the installation is ready.
    4. Once the download has completed, a pop-up notification will appear stating "Your copy of Windows 10 is ready to install!" You can also confirm the download has completed by launching the "Get Windows 10" app and seeing the "OK, let's continue" button.

IMPORTANT: Do not begin the installation process of the Windows 10 operating system as we have to do some additional steps. The installation process of Windows 10 will be explained in a later step.
Step 3 - Begin the VAIO Update for Windows 10 Upgrade Process

    1. Download and run the VAIO Update for Windows 10 Upgrade tool - VUforWin10_2Upg.exe.
    2. [VAIO Update is running in "OS Upgrade Mode"] dialog appears, click [OK].
    3. Click on [Software Update] and confirm all the listed items are checked, click [Update]. This step will insure you have all the latest VAIO software before upgrading to Windows 10.
    4. VAIO Update dialog will appear, "An update program or software requires a shutdown or restart after installation. This may affect other software that is running or waiting to run. Do you want to start the installation?", click [Yes].
    5. [Windows 10 Upgrade preparation completed. Please upgrade to Windows 10] dialog appears, click [OK].
    6. Your Sony VAIO PC will reboot automatically.
    7. VAIO Update (OS Upgrade Mode) confirmation of successful installation will appear, click [OK].
    8. Your Sony VAIO PC is now ready to upgrade to Windows 10.
Step 4 - Install the Windows 10 Operation System

    1. Launch the "Get Windows 10" app and click on [OK, let's continue] or launch "Windows Update" and click [Get started] to begin the installation of the Windows 10 Operating System.
Please refer to Microsoft's website for additional information.
    2. Microsoft's License Agreement window will appear, click [Accept].
    3. On the next screen, you will have the option to "Schedule it for later" or "Start upgrade now", click on [Start upgrade now] to continue.
    4. This will begin the Windows 10 installation process which may take a while as it progresses through 3 different phases of copying files, applying Windows and configuring settings.
    5. Once installation has been completed, you will get to the "Hi there, welcome back!" screen, click [Next].
    6. On the "Get going fast" screen, it will explain some of the new features in Windows 10. You can either customise your settings or simply click [Use Express settings] to continue.
    7. "New apps for the new Windows" screen will appear where you can change your default apps for Photos, Music, Microsoft Edge and Movies and TV or simply click [Next] to continue.
    8. The installation process will continue and finalise your settings. Your system will restart and boot into the Windows 10 desktop. Installation of the Windows 10 operating system is now complete, but you still need to install updated drivers, applications and utilities for Windows 10.
Step 5 - Install drivers, applications and utilities on your PC after installing Windows 10

    1. Once you have successfully installed Windows 10, you can begin to install updated VAIO software and drivers.
      a. VAIO Update (OS Upgrade Mode) starts up automatically after the system reboots.
      b. Click [Software Update] and confirm all of the items are checked, click [Update].
      c. VAIO Update dialog will appear, "An update program or software requires a shutdown or restart after installation. This may affect other software that is running or waiting to run. Do you want to start the installation?", click [Yes].
      d. Once all the updated software has successfully been installed, "VAIO Update is leaving "OS Upgrade Mode" message will appear, click [OK].
      e. Your VAIO system will reboot automatically.
      f. After the system has rebooted and boots to the Desktop, VAIO Update confirmation of successful installation window will appear, click [OK].
    2. Run "VAIO Update" again by clicking on [Software Updates] and install the latest VAIO software to your VAIO for Windows 10.
    3. Launch "Windows Update" to make sure your PC has all the latest Microsoft OS updates for Windows 10.

    Thanks for the info,

I also found some win 10 drivers for SVP13226PXB
    https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=SVP13226PXB

My vaio is bought in the Euro With model number svp1321c5e, and the specs are almost the same so i think it will work.

I was hoping to do a clean win 10 install, since my 128 disk is running out of Space :(

I will look into that this weekend.

@Fedda my update was more or less a clean one, since I decided not to keep apps and user files. Windows 10 detected all the drivers but Sony Firmware Extension Parser, meaning, everything was OK except proprietary Sony things, that can be downloaded and installed later.

Oh! Interesting. The link you provided has some changelogs, and this is the changelog for the Vaio Control Center:
    • Removes the multi-touch gesture function
    • Removes the X-reality feature
    • Removes the Sony Sound Effect function
So, confirmed that this features are not longer available on Windows 10.

I've encountered a baffling problem that may not exclsively be related to the windows 10 update.

After a clean slate update, I was unable to have my Bluetooth adapter recognized anywhere in the OS. Not Device manager, not nothing.

I tried a bunch of methods online, from messing with all the different drivers to editing the registery and BIOS. Ofcourse none of it worked.

What finally did though was physically uninstalling the battery. Put it back on, and you'll find your Bluetooth icon chillin by the tray.

This is all on the SVP13 ofcourse, what a pain.

Anyway, does anyone know of a remedy for the loss of ClearAudio+ from the control panel?
I find the speakers to be underwhelming now.

Seems odd that Sony does not have a "hardware reset" function as HP and other brands have. That usually solves this kind of problems :-/

Yes, the Sony music profile was wonderful. Currently I'm messing with Realtek's equalization, but is not the same: search for the "sound control panel" -> speaker properties -> enhancements -> check equalizer -> select a setting.

BTW, what version of Control Panel and shared libraries are you using?

Something interesting to note. I was reviewing "sound enhancements" for other systems, like Beats audio, SRS, etc, all of them seems to have problems on Windows 10, so, seems that MS changed something there.

Thanks for the tip, I noticed I was missing the enhancements features you were referring to but soon got them after manually updating the Realtek driver. This update produced a significant boost in audio volume which really was the main concern for me.

Definitely an interesting find regarding other audio equalizers being affected, will help us find a replacement. I messed around with the EQ and feel I got close.

I most likely am using the same version as you, 6.4.0.10210 as I downloaded both from the above windows 10 drivers link.
The sound quality tab is there but with no sound enhancement option. Installing a different version still won't restore those options.

Anyone else experiencing a problem with their touchscreen? Mine occasionally offsets taps and I'm afraid it's a hardware issue.

I've also found a Sony report about their tests on Windows 10. For Clearaudio they mention: "clicks and pops" on the audio stream, which seems "fixable", if they still want to provide support.

There are also interesting hacks to unlock Dolby / DTS on the Realtek drivers, or allow other EQs like Wave Maxx, but didn't try: I'm waiting a bit to see if Sony fix the problem.

I'm using 6.2.17.09140, because I installed the base package and then I updated using the Vaio update app; and I don't have any sound quality section at all. I believe many of this options are related to other Sony libraries like the shared one, or the Sony parser.

I'm not a heavy touch user, but mine seems to work OK.

    I have the SVP13226PXB.

I did a clean install of Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and let Windows Update install all the drivers and stuff. I did not install anything on my own. There is still one thing in Device Manager that does not have a driver and I can't seem to figure out what it is.

Secondly, today I noticed that the mouse was right-clicking on its own on the desktop. I had to move around on the trackpad and click it a couple of times and the issue went away. Not sure what happened here. Not sure if it will come back either.

Lastly, I've also noticed that when the screen goes to sleep at the desktop (without a lock screen) and I wake up the screen by moving the mouse, there is no pointer on the screen. I have to keep motioning down on the trackpad till I reach the taskbar and then I can see the mouse pointer on the screen. Every time this happens, I have to keep dragging down on the trackpad till I reach the taskbar and then suddenly the mouse pointer shows up.

Also, I really miss the ClearAudio presets I had in Windows 8.1. They really enhanced the sound. Now it just sounds like every other laptop.

I'm debating whether or not to just sell it and get another ultrabook that has "proper" Windows 10 support (something I really don't want to do because I love the design of the VAIO Pro 13).

    Dear somnio
    thanks.
I installed windows 10 X86 on my SVP13 and the Sony Firmware Extension Device Parser that you send its link cant install on it.
I have 2 important problem now.
first problem is the rendering of fonts in some application like system manegement or device manager.
and the second is the Fn combination dose not work such as Fn+F5 for brightness.
    How can I fix them

Can you be more specific or provide a screenshot?

All of the FN keys are not working, or just some of them?

This usually means that the system needs a helper app to provide the functionality, but on my SVP13 everything works fine. I only have the Vaio Control Center installed, so, you can try installing it from the previous link. Also, can be related to the keyboard layout and language.

About the fonts, what you see is normal. Not all apps are fine-tuned to work with hi-dpi screens. Some old and system apps are just upscaled, and the result is not optimal.

Hey there kind folks. I need an advice. I have recently bricked the SSD that came in my Sony Vaio Pro 13 (SVP132A1CW touch). I wanted to secure erase it, but it did not work as i planned. No biggie i thought, ill buy a new drive. To my shock and horror, when i finally popped this bad boy open my Corsair SSD 3.5'' drive would not work with it. I had never seen SSD's in this form factor. I have no experience with them. So i tried looking for that exact model SSD that was already inside( Samsung MZ-HPU128t/000), but other than Ebay and AliExpress hits, nothing in my country. So i need help choosing a replacement.

    Would this do the trick?

What is the difference between the NVME and non NVME model? Which one to get? Please help me guys, im all out of options and since regular stores dont hold these and only online shops have them, i really dont want to buy something that will not be compatible. Thanks.

Will the ac7265 wifi work in the Vaio pro 13? Or is it a dumb question because the ac7265 is ngff m2 whereas it needs a mini pci express?

I'm working towards installing windows 10 on SVP 13 Ultrabook. The model number is SVP132A1CW (Australia).

I'm following the instructions here. 2 issues so far..

    1) I have created a recovery USB stick using the instructions in Viao care, but when I try to verify it by booting from it using the assist key, it fails to boot. The recovery partition is still on the SSD so I don't know how important this step really is...
Update - I Changed a setting in BIOS 'external boot device' and I can now boot to my recovery USB.

    2) the bigger issue. When I download and run the VUforWin10_1Upg tool it says my model is not supported for Windows 10.. What exactly does that mean? It seems lots of other SVP13 notebooks have been upgraded. Should I just push on? I recently upgraded a Samsung laptop and that went fine.
Update - I didn't realize that model number bottom of the laptop isn't the real model number... The real model number is SVP13213CGB, which according to support page is W10 compatible. The upgrade tool still doesn't work. Any Idea what that tool does?

As far as I know all SVP13 are Win10 compatible. The Sony upgrade tool is useless if you are going to use the "remove apps and users files" option, so, I can suggest to use that option while upgrading and then check https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/mode...te_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab for the drivers.

I wiped the Sony recovery just before the upgrade and everything is fine.
