I don't have a copy of the Dolby app. I might have missed it when I extracted the apps. I'll have another look for it later when I can find the extract guide I used last time.

The app for the webcam is the Arcsoft app in the drivers pack

Do you mean this "VAIO Control Color Setting Software".

You'll find nearly all of the utils are 32-bit. I think only the UPEK fingerprint apps is 64-bit.

    Mujja!
Do you have PxEngine for 64-bit? Or maybe no difference 32 or 64. Because without px.dll Click to Disc Editor not started!
Sorry for my English and thanks for your vaio-programmes.

    THANK U SOOOO MUCH....

The app for the webcam is the Arcsoft app in the drivers pack

I thought that there was some software, not drivers that came with the Vaio AW. Where you can take pixs of your self using the webcam..

Ive downloaded the color control setting from their website and it wont install..

There are no drivers for the webcam that I can find, Vista and Win7 detect and install the drivers for the webcam.

Included in the drivers pack is only the software, this will allow you to take pictures and record video etc from the webcam.

many thanks to the TC. I was able to get my core install of Win 7 Pro working smoothly.

only thing not working for me is the Dolby Control center, which isn't a significant loss to speak of anyway.

    fantastic job, all.

I asked this in the other AW thread but maybe it is better here.

Has anybody updated the AW audio with Realtek's newer driver or heard of any issues doing it? The Sony Audio driver is rather old.

Also no issues updating Sony's NVIDIA Graphics Driver 7.15.11.7676 over a older one? Sony only lists a 7.15.11.7622 for my AW-170C.

anyone had trouble getting the Magic-i Visual effects working?

also, when using my webcam software, I find that the AVerMedia Capture option does nothing...but a second option (USB Video Device) does make the webcam work.

    Webcam companion software does work.

Guys, looking for a couple more apps from the Recovery Center:

    -Battery Checker
    -Magic-i Visual Effects
    -Vaio Entertainment Platform

If anyone could make those available, I'd greatly appreciate it. My recovery drive was lost when I changed out my HDDs.

I've been using Sony's 7.15.11.7676 since it was released. If you use a newer non-Sony driver you may find WinDVD no longer works. PowerDVD is still able to play Blu-ray though.

Also, you my notice there are no new updates for the AW-170. Sony only seem to release drivers for the current models even though the hardware is the same. Differences are just faster CPU, more RAM and larger HDD. The audio and video components are the same but you'll only see a new Realtek or nVidia driver posted for the AW-190.

I'll update my driver pack next week with newer drivers. The biggest changes are in the Sony Utils which work much better with Win7 (RC and Retail), i.e. Vol, Brightness and Eject button respond instantly and the onscreen notifications don't go missing.

What is Magic-i ? It's not included on the UK AW.

My AW came with VAIO Entertainment Platform (3.2.00.06200). I can upload it if needed. I think I installed it once, is this the app with gives a XMB interface to media and allows it to be streamed to a PS3 (DLNA)?

Just to be clear, you updated 7.15.11.7676 onto an older version? If so was it just a minor update or something a little more?

Would not the AW-3xx notebooks have more current drivers?

    Thanks for the reply.

cool thanks. as for the entertainment platform...I honestly have no idea. it wasn't what I thought it was.

and Magic-i just adds features to the webcam. face tracking, weird faces, special effects, etc. it's cool. I can upload it for you if you like.

I tried installing 7.15.11.7676 (NVDVID-00166115-64.EXE) onto a AW-170C, the program would not let me.

I was able to install a Realtek driver from the same model I got the graphic driver from.

^ cool. what did you add?

changing your video driver to a different nVidia driver won't break your support.

if it does, we all bought from the wroooooooooong company.

    Hello everyone!

I recently updated my AW290JFQ with windows 7 Ultimate(7600). I have the next issues after installing all drivers available on the 1st page:

    1) Camera drivers is missing. I installed ArcSoft application but it didn't help at all.
    2) FingerPrint is not working also. I installed Protector Suite 2009 and TouchChip drivers 2.18 from upek website but when i opren protector suite it tells me that "cannot find fingeprint sensor device"
    3) The express card driver also isn't available. I have a 32gb express card and i need driver for express card.
    4) Bluetooth driver is missing also. I tried to install few blutooth drivers provided on 1st page or sony website but allways i receive a message: Bluetooth device not found...and i can't continue installation

I also have another 3 devices without drivers in device manager. Take a look at picture attached:

I also have other 2 big problems. My Logitech VX Nano Mouse isn't working also. When i attach the nano usb, in device manager appears this device:
Port_#0002.Hub_#0005(you can see it in attached image)
it worked very well before on windows vista sp1

please note that i don't have any other usb devices attached.

I'm also deranged by another issue: i hear every 10-20 seconds that sound for atatching/deattaching usb devices and a notification is shown also in right-down corner. I'm not attaching any device, but the sound and notification i hear/see every minute.

Hope you can help me resolving all this issues. Thanks!

i have great news....i left my laptop connected on internet one day...and in the evening after restart i noticed that my:
    Camera driver is working
    Mouse is working also
    FingerPrint is working also
    Bluetooth is working also.

i have just one more problem, the Multimedia video controller
probably is the internal tv tuner driver. i don't use it because it is for US only, but i'm in europe at the moment, but anyway, if it will be possible, i want to get that driver also!
Thank you very much for this post! Very usefull!
