Hey guys,
Just want to confirm that this rebate still qualifies for SR purchases from PortableOne?
Has anyone purchased an SR from there & successfully claimed the rebate?
Thanks
-
Research more! I'm researching a lot... -
hmm that says it ends 3.31
-
No it ends on September 31
What you've probably seen is timeline of previous rebate (which was extended) -
oh ok, i just purchased from J&R, no clue how long to expect to receive it. I guess when it comes in the mail i can do the rebate form, windows 7 form, and accessory bundle form..

Do you guys keep or sell your rebate stuff?
I sold my battery for $75 and the travel charger for $75. I just sold my bag for $62. -
is the case nice? if it is ill keep it, if not ill buy a 13.3 inch sleeve to put it in.
the extra battery and adapter though might get sold since i probably wont really use them -
The extra battery might come in handy only if you are on a 13 hr flight and first class ticket cost 4K more.
The case said it got built in science with all those honeycomb waffer to cushion the g force by 1/3 so I dont know. -
If anyone wants to sell their docking station please contact me. I am looking for one but the price für a new one is to much.

can you give me more info on the SR rebates? I'm getting my SR490 on the 7th
-
-
What I'm planning is:
1. Fill out the form
2. Printout order reciept (sonystyle.com)
3. Color copy of bottom of notebook
4. Copy of the big white sticker - CTO model specs are written there
5. Packing list copy
6. Send all of the above and wait... -
3. Color copy of the bottom of notebook? I didnt see that on the instructions.
All I did was sent in a copy of my receipt. I have no packing list copy. -
Oh, I'm going to send it for my rebate... hehe
Since I own CTO model, I wanted to make everything perfect so that I won't be messing around it again and again. -
Just got a confirmation email from Sony on my rebate:
I put the letter in the mail on July 27
Received this letter from Sony today August 10

Wait, let me get this straight. If I go to say Microcenter or JR, I can get a Sony Z or SR430 for whatever price they are selling minus cashback with JR (Z is cheaper at Microcenter) and get $100 rebate, mobility bundle AND $300 trade-in for an old Dell D600 that I got?
JR would be $1350 for the SR430 - 10% Bing cashback - $100 rebate - $300 trade in and free mobility bundle is very good.
Microcenter would have Z750 for $1600 - $100 rebate - $300 trade in and a free mobility bundle. This is outstanding for the Z series.
Hmm... decisions, decisions. -
I like that Z price, but the 1600x900 would make me avoid at all cost.
-
I'm considering that jr deal. I wonder if you can do the trade-in in conjunction with the other stuff (rebate, bundle)....
-
any similar stuff (subj) available in euro land?
-
-
Not at this moment.
-
I am basically deciding between Z with 1600x900, extra hour+ of battery life, 1lb lighter and SR with ATI 4570 and $350 in my pocket! -
I'm so confused...
-
I have the Z (VGN-750D/B) and I love it. I have it as a dual boot with Windows Server 2008, Vista 64 and am able to run my own dev enviornments complete with my own local domain, mail server and then SharePoint 2007, SQL Server 2008 and Microsoft CRM full blown dev enviornments. -
-
I read on one of the posts in this thread that when you have to register for the sony business site you could leave the business name and type blank, but its not letting me do that. Any suggestions?
-
If I had been alive 10000 years ago, I would be legally blind by now. Thanks for glasses and contacts! -
Woohoo!
Just got my confirmation e-mail today stating that my order was valid. For those that were or are concerned if CTOs weren't eligible, my order is being processed. I have a Z690 CTO (it was a clearance item btw) that I purchased from the SonyStyle outlet along with the student discount.
What I did was send in a photocopy of the bottom of the laptop along with a copy of my packing slip, the big fat white sticker with all the specs on it, and the order form.
Good luck to the rest of you. -
-
Okay, figured it out.
questions left
1) how do I get the 10% off bing?
2) is there a student discount? do i have to go to a US based school? (i go to school in canada)
3) CTO's are fine...right? just double checking (i realize the guy above me said it worked for him, just checking consensus that it'll go thru valid) -
-
J&R on Bing-cashback currently says 10-18% cashback
how do I find out how much the exact cashback is? it's "double rewards" time now on bing...
ALSO, as far as bing goes, it says only those who reside in the US are eligible. Now, I'm not American nor do I live there, BUT I do have a US residential mailing address I get stuff sent to all the time and that's always got me by as far as promos or shipping goes in the past. Am I still eligible as long as I tell them I live at this address? Give them a US-based PayPal account? -
More questions:
For the student discount, how does Sonystyle.com verify if you're an actual student at one of these places?
Also, if I buy from J&R, can I get the extended warranty afterward? -
-
I wonder if warranty thru Sony is cheaper than any other places?
So Sony, you can even buy the warranty after the 1 yr had expired, but you have to wait 30 days. -
Has anyone get their $100 rebate and moblility or productive stuff lately?
-
-
-
SPEEDwithJJ, I thought you know this. Its everywhere. Go to Fry's you can get it minus the $100 rebate. Not just Frys, but J&R etc etc. Its Sony rebate.
-
Guess I really need a hard knock on the head.
I wonder what I've been doing all this while.
-
I've gotten word that the end date of September 30th is official. They won't extend this like they did before.
If you want to get one of these bundles buy now or forever hold your peace. -
SpeedwithJJ, I thought you know. This Sony $100 had been going a while, I think maybe on the SR and Z model only.
The mobility and productive rebate makes it even sweeter. -
Nobody has been replying to this thread. Did you guys forget?
I got my battery, travel charger and bag today. It took about 2 months.
I got an email alert my $100 rebate will be sending this week also. -
That's great news & I'm very happy for you.
To be honest, I wouldn't mind waiting for 2 months if they would just give me my Vaio Z rebate.Unfortunately, I doubt that's gonna happen as it has been slightly more than 4 months since I sent in my papers.
-
I bought mine this weekend and nobody said anything about a rebate? This was at the sony store...
