I just went to one of the shops in amsterdam that sells Timo.

They did have a nice messenger bag that would fit TZ nicely. It costet 425 euros (!) however. And it was black nylon.

So i am going to keep searching. Any recommendations on brown leather messenger bags are welcome. They don't have to be special notebook bags.

You could always import it, but I don't know what the cost would be after you add shipping.

You can add the Tumi Laurel Slim Messenger. I only really want something slim with the ability to put some files and portfolios in.

Damn it's expensive though ($US365 was the lowest I found it for, after a brief search). It will have to go on my wish list for when I have some more money to waste.

Mandarina Duck is a well known Premium bag and small accessories manufacturer. Their design is fresh and the products are of very high quality. They are not primarily targetting the PC market but do make some bags for laptops. They have actually made a ladies laptop bag series especially for the TZ (requested by Sony).

They cost more than many people (or at least many of the less wealthy students on this board) are willing to pay, but in my opinion they are definitely worth it. I have probably bought a total of 8 bags and filofax managers from them. All of them are still going strong without any defects, apart from a bit of surface wear. Most of them are between 8-10 years old and I have used them just about every single day. Now that is high quality.

For Mandarina Duck, skip the annoying flash and go straight to their online shop: http://us.mandarinaduck.com/us/

They seem nice. I'll look into them more later today.

Needless to say, Tumi, that you seem to like Nanaki, is also a premium brand with premium prices. For other peoples information: It is one of the most expensive brands in its segment. Definitely high quality though.

However, I find their design to often be a bit bland or boring, which is why I have stuck to Mandarina Duck for about 10 years now. I do however miss some of the former Mandarina Duck collection products.

I looked through their current offerings, but nothing really seems to fit what I want with a style I like. What are some that you fancy?

I am leaning more and more towards the Tumi Laurel Slim Messenger. I want to have a closer look at the Hugo Boss "BOSS Black" Shoulder bag, style 67712. You have to go to their website and navigate yourself to the men's section under "BOSS Black" to find it.

My plan was to buy a Zeroshock sleeve for this reason, and then put it inside a nice bag.

That would avoid any pressure damage i believe. what do you guys think.

I've ordered a Zeroshock III on ebay. Still looking for my brown leather messenger bag.

Temporarily I will be using this bag: http://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-VNC-13-13-inch-Slimline/dp/B000EIZPL2

I got it for free, I am impressed with the quality, it seems very strong. However it needs something like Zeroshock because the inside is not soft enough for a delicate machine like TZ.

Guys I have a question about the Zeroshock III for the vaio TZ. The 11.1 inch zeroshock case reportedly supports dimensions of W10.8 x D1.6 x H8.5 inch (W275×D40×H215mm).

    The TZ has dimensions of 10.9"(W) 0.8" - 1.17"(H) 7.8"(D)

The width of the machine is 277 which is 2mm more (.1 inches) than what the zeroshock claims to support for its inner dimensions. Does this mean the case is too small for the TZ and I should get something else? I'm sure I could tightly squeeze it in but I'm a little worried about compromised protection if I try to force it in.

2mm is not going to be a problem.

I can tell you for sure in a couple of days because I ordered one on ebay.

I assume this guy would reach 99,8% positive feedback if he would be selling cases for TZ that don't fit.

I would not recommend the Zero Shock cases as I have also personally experienced color bleed from the materials on other laptops.

As a side note, I have one of these for sale which is brand new and I have never used. It looks great, but I failed to notice it was brown when I ordered it. I am located in the US and take paypal (verified user and eBay user).

I haven't seen a ZS case in person, but I would guess that heat could very well cause the material to transfer onto notebooks.

I had the color experience on white laptops as well silver too. but even if my precious tz is black, knowing that its being tainted with black dots would not make me feel at ease, even though u might not see it just the thought of my nice carbon fiber will have these marks.

I know a 100 percent that's not true because everytime I used the zero shock case on my white macbook its always been asleep since the night before I always keep the lid closed and in the morning the macbook is asleep and very cold because I keep my house around 70 degrees. and I always take my laptops only in the mornings to campus with me. and when I use it in school the computer never gets hot because I only run safari and mail and I keep it closed and it sleeps again and get cold again. I do this 10 min. before lecture is over or when im done at the library. then I put the laptop in the zero shock sleeve and take it out and my new macbook becomes a dalmation with black polka dots.

I think its that black inner foam that may be cheap and maybe even dyed the color black, and since the case closed pretty tight on the laptops it presses against the laptops leaving perminant black dot marks.

I just received my Zero shock bag.

    http://cgi.ebay.nl/10-6-11-1-Laptop...ryZ11170QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem

    Quick delivery by: tenkiti

It looks nice,it has a nice finish on the inside, with black cloth. I must say, I find it hard to believe it would leave marks on a notebook. Maybe there are different versions of zeroshock.

I like this bag. But it's not really serious protection i think. It's better than just a sleeve. The Sony leather bag is propably better protection.

There is some thin packaging material provided by Sony so that would offer protection against the marks.

I'm still not convinced though that it actually leaves marks on the black carbon finishof the TZ though. On a white macbook i would not be suprised.

Anyone know of some properly fitting sleeves for the TZ other than the official Sony ones? There's a plethora for the fruit branded machines. I know the TZ is niche, but it would be nice to have some alternate selection on a nice sleeve so I could put it in my bag without worrying about it getting all bunged up.

    http://cgi.ebay.nl/10-6-11-1-Laptop...ryZ11170QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD2VQQcmdZViewItem

Althouh jjahshik says it leaves black marks. I never used it so he could be right.

It seems unlikely to me that it would leave marks on a black or carbon TZ though. The finish seems good.

The fit is exactly right. It should not be any smaller or it would be a problem.
