@thomackc.dk: can you explain me how can i put the last intel drivers in 260.99 installation pack?

PS. about 262.99 on nvidia site is described like a driver only for GTX 580... so our gt330 isn't supported!!!

    To answer your questions.

    - You can download the Intel HD Graphics drivers from intel (either exe or zip i think), you'll have to extract it (one of the two)
    - look in the ''graphics'' folder.
    - Copy all those files to the downloaded hybrid graphics driver from thomackc.dk in the ''Display.Driver'' folder and overwrite all files. - Uninstall/reinstall drivers and you're updated.

And last but not least to answer the 2nd question. The inf file is modded for GT330 support, so it will work fine.

You do realize that most of the custom driver do not have many gpus supported nativly right? it means nothing, supported just means what the inf file comes with as default, thats why the modded drivers install on everything. If the 330m was really not supported we couldn't install them.

so point is, 262.99 is the latest working drivers for 330m

And the "lastest" intel drivers I think is actually not newer than the ones we have, at least I get an error saying my intel HD graphics drivers are newer when trying to install them. Also people have reported errors where the intel drivers overwrite the nvidia and leave you with nothing funcional. Id leave it and wait until it's really needed :)

Well, problem solved. Here's the solution, in case the next guy wants to know. After trying several USB-to-DVI adapters, it looks like a non-DisplayLink solution does the trick. I used Tritton's UV200, and now have a 3rd display at 1600x1200x32. I tried two DisplayLink adapters with 5 versions of DisplayLink drivers each... and the Z just hangs on restart in every case.

And DisplayLink has the audacity to trash on their website, SIIG, Tritton, and Samsung for using "non-DisplayLink, inferior solutions". Is this sorry excuse for a company publicly traded? If so, I would love to use the charts on all 3 monitors to short the living daylights out of this bag of excrement.

Reports of my death have been exaggerated..

Been having a really difficult time lately and had to re-prioritize things in my life. I have been able to make a little time however to get back to my favorite hobby.

I have a TON of catching up to do so bear with me.

welcome back Nautis, good to see you are still around.

Btw im downloading the new Developer drivers 263.06 now and will be uploading a hybrid version of them if they work and seem stable.

    EDIT:

263.06 installed fine, same as the other latest ones. I will do a bit of testing mainly with starcraft 2 before uploading.

Intel keeps a pretty good track of changes/fixes.
Production Version 15.17.12.64.2226 Release Notes (HTML)

Most important would be "DXVA decode doesn't operate correctly."

The aliens that I was abducted by forced me to tell everyone one that. ;) (Don't I wish. :( ) I am glad thomaskc.dk and others have picked up the ball and continued the mission. Its really the best thing that could happen so y'all don't have to rely on mr. disappear. The more people working on this stuff the better IMHO. We are pretty much on our own with this Hybrid Graphics stuff (we do need to thank Nvidia for continuing support in their drivers though.)

It most likely has to do with the date or version number for whatever reason (both of which can be changed in the DriverVer section of the INF). I havent gotten a chance to look at your driver package yet but my guess would be that it is comparing the Intel driver Date/Ver vs the Nvidia Date/Ver. For whatever reason the official Hybrid Graphics drivers just use the DriverVer string for Nvidia for both Intel and Nvidia drivers. This can be remedied by adding the Intel DriverVer under the appropriate Intel section.

    For Example:
    [iCNT0]
    DriverVer=10/15/2010,8.15.10.2226

    [iILKM0]
    DriverVer=10/15/2010,8.15.10.2226

If there is nothing noticed with the new Intel drivers I would say sticking with what works is fine. It is all personal preference really.

Does anyone know what to do. I keep getting low fps in WoW (5- 20 - 30) instead of 60 like I sometimes get at places. Shouldn't the 330M easiliy run WoW? If so, why do I get those low fps? I even use EVGA precision at max settings(the laptop can run before it gets unstable)

They are on performance in windows and in Sony Power management. Also the settings are on max so that it won't slow down the GPU/CPU.
Like I showed before in this thread, this is my System information of Nvidia. My settings were different then his and I didnt have it overclocked. Now that I do, nothing really changed and I did click on apply and such. Im not really using the GPU atm because of other things but I'm just showing the settings I have.

I'm pretty sure its because you have overclocked way too much ! Your graphics card probably fail and crash leaving you with no nvidia acceleration. You should try and run it without overclocking and see! 715 on the core is VERY high and far from the stable I can get.

Ah k hopefully I didn't make it very bad :( Is there a way to see it other then looking at performance? Its difficult to check the stability of the overclocking if the thing you are saying is true.

I got a new hard drive with fresh install so everything is from scratch. I am just running the standard Intel drivers  (Scary I know). The last ones I built were the last I sent to a few people for testing. That is part of the reason I need to play catch up, there have been quite a few new releases since then.

Preview in the attachment of what I am working towards.

The 263.06 drivers I have had running fine on top of the current intels 2022 but it would be good to have you release a new package with updated inf files and so on, because im sure mine is a bit messy even though they work.

EDIT: I just saw, Nautis if possible, the 263.09 drivers are already out! which means .06 is pointless haha it's silly how fast the beta drivers are released.

You guys clearly seem to be leading the charge in enhancing this hybid graphics scheme. Thanks for sharing all your info here.

I have a Sony Z570N, and ever since I upgraded from Vista Business (32 bit) to Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) the hybrid graphics does not seem to be working correctly.

Everything appears to work, and the system does report the different graphics have been activated, but my battery life doesn't change.

I also saw another report that said: "...switching to STAMINA mode puts the entire VAIO Z in power-saving mode." I don't think that is happening for me.

Any ideas? Should I try one of your unoffical drivers? Which is the most current? The link to the most curent unoffical driver on the first page of this thread doesn't work anymore.

    Thanks for any help!

Probably the program uses the video card, so you must shut it down before switching.

I'm using the same settings as thomaskc.dk and everything runs smoothly, even Medal of Honor at max details (ok, no big deal but still...). These settings are:

    • Core Clock: 615
    • Shader Clock: 1353
    • Memory Clock: 815

It gets pretty hot but nothing ever happened.

Has anyone found any official releases of Hybrid Graphics drivers newer than 260?

The the important part of that screenshot is the separate Intel and Nvidia Graphics driver installation. Basically what I am attempting to do is to make the Intel driver install as its own separate module. This would bring many benefits over the way it is now.

    - New Intel drivers could be released as a module.
    - No more signing. (something I have been trying for a long time)
    - Easier Updating.

    -

I am excited to see more people trying their hand at modding these so I will try to provide as much help as possible.
It seems most people have the file part of the process down pretty well the INF is understandably a little more complicated. Keep in mind the new Installer (Nvidia Installer 2 aka. NVI2) is a lot more fickle than the old installer, the benefit to the new installer is its modular capability. With the new installer it is easier to keep the INF the same name as one that was already in the package as renaming the INF will cause file not found errors unless other files are modified.

A standard Nvidia Hybrid Graphics driver has four main components:
    -Standard Nvidia graphics driver files
    -Standard Intel graphics driver files
-The nvbridge_int.kmd file (The only file not found with most standard Nvidia drivers)
    -Specialized Hybrid Graphics INF.

The Nvidia and Intel drivers are standard driver files with the exception of the nvbridge_int.kmd file. The nvbridge_int.kmd can usually be found with official Hybrid Graphics driver releases they are also included in the drivers posted on Windows Update (for these check the Windows Update Catalog).

The Install Information File (INF) for Hybrid Graphics is a combined version of both Nvidia and Intel INFs with a few lines specific to Hybrid Graphics.

With a standard Hybrid Graphics driver package and the new installer, all of these files (nvidia drivers, intel drivers, nvbridge_int.kmd, hybrid graphics inf) should be in the /Display.Driver/ folder.

Yeah sounds about perfect huh. Now If I can only get it working.

I have been hammering away at it when I have time but it tends to like to F.U.B.A.R. my notebook so it has been a difficult thing. The new installer is very finicky and really wasn't meant to work this way, so that is another hurdle. I have some pretty huge goals and wont really be satisfied until I can get things working the way I want it.

Goals I would love to have working.
Step 1: This Installer without the need to sign the drivers and to make things more modular by splitting the Intel drivers into its own module.
Step 2: My "Hybrid Graphics Toolkit - User Edition" which would essentially build the driver and mod the INF(s) on it own. (I have my own version of this utility right now which "helps me" mod these drivers. *won't release due to potential legal issues, sorry.)
Step 3: Build a Universal Installer/Driver that covers as much of Nvidias product line as possible (Universal Standard/Notebook/Quadro/Tegra + Optimus + Hybrid Graphics + DIY ViDock).
    Step 4: World Domination?

Anyways, yes I am a crazy mofo. While all of that sounds extremely complicated and for the most part is, it should all be doable ('cept maybe the world domination part.) When should you guys expect it? Possibly never, but it keeps me modding. *Sigh* in a perfect world.

    Downloading now!

On a side note, I was thinking of selling my Z13 with i5 2.53 to get a Z13 with 2.8 i7. I have looked everywhere for comparison benchmarks without luck.

Will the i7 perform better with games like COD BO or Star Craft? And if yes, are we talking 10+ FPS better?

Thanks for all of your efforts!

    Update:

These new drivers work extremely well with COD BO!

    Again, Many Thanks!

i stated that it was from original v460, how can you install it without modifying the inf?
here you must make your own inf, you can use sony vaio vpcz1 190.24 if you want but you cant use 189.99 from mine...

btw what are new in 263.09 or 263.06? i am having a little bit problem with 260.99 with 2226 but not with 260.99 with 2202.

I don't know exactly, but considering that most games rely more on the VGA than on the processor, only 0,3 Ghz more won't make any substantial difference, and I'm quite sure not 10 fps.

Dear gurus, please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried to install different Optimus drivers I found on this forum, but I'm always getting Code 43 for the integrated nvidia video card. The last thing I've tried was 258.96 with the inf file applied from UO_258.96_32-64bit_INFs.zip. Always same issue. I've exactly followed to the "how-tos" but no luck for me. I have Vaio Z13, GT330M / Intel HD (drv ver 2226 for Intel). Thank you!

Installed just now, everything works well! Thanks again!

My VGA temperature is about 60°C in idle, is thath normal? I didn't check but I think it goes around 80°C under heavy load. I haven't had any problem so far, but I'm wondering if it's going to cause any damage to the video card.

    Glad I could help.

That is perfectly normal. Im on a cooling pad for my laptop and I have idle around 45 and max load around 75-80 depending. No reason to worry. :) (gpu wont take damage before it hits like 120 degrees, and you computer will probably shut down way before that.)

Btw I have my gpu overclocked to

    core: 620
    shader: 1364
    mem: 820

    with those temps.
