Can anyone advise where the community build Sony Vaio Z Hybrid Graphics Drivers can be downloaded from? The links earlier in this thread no longer work. Thanks.

I was thanking too early, as the Intel driver in that Andrew's package is some latter one, which doesn't work with VGN-Z. Anyway I got it working...first installed Nvidia driver from Andrew's package, then installed Intel driver from Nautis's package...and at the end I applied these registry hacks. It working well for now :) Ah one downside...CUDA seems not to be working...

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Hybrid]
    "DeepIdleTimer"=dword:00000000
    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\nvlddmkm]
    "EnableGoldOnHybrid"=dword:00000001

Are there any plans to release a new driver set for VGN-Z? :)

For which Z version do you need it?

Thank you for your suggestion, it's very useful.
I have to set the switch to STAMINA to be able to install the drivers from Andrew's package.
Now I'll try to install the Intel driver from Nautis's package as you have done.

I think that will never be a new driver set for VGN-Z :( Anyone want to buy my new unsupported old VGN-Z21 ??

That means VPC-Z1 right? These should work for you I believe :)

Interesting, I installed both in Speed mode. Not with installer, but by updating drivers in Device Manager. $100 would be enough? :D

Do the links above work with the Z1 series?
The samurai link doesn't work (I can't get the file to download) and the other files are for the VGNZ.

Would some kind person please post the stable Z1 files again? signed version.

current i am using windows 7 driver which all of them work perfectly, and community drivers for graphics 26314-2266

Thought I'd post this here as well, concerning using WQHD external monitors with a VAIO Z (via HDMI) and either the 2266 or 2281 drivers offered here. I've managed to obtain 2560x1440 with my "DoubleSight" brand monitor with this simple method shown in the image I've attached.

    View attachment 76523

Using NVIDIA Control Panel, create a custom resolution at 2560x1440 (rest left default, CVT reduced blank, 60hz, progresive). Sometimes it'll take when I hit OK. If not, I change it through Control Panel > Display > Screen Resolution, then click Advanced Settings > List All Modes, and finally select the mode I made. Done! Only caveat seems to be that I have to revert back to a standard 1080p resolution before I unplug my HDMI-to-HDMI cable or when I plug back in I'll get no signal. If I forget, I have to do a clean install of the driver to get it back. If anyone knows an easier way to clear out driver profiles (default settings), please let me know. Could just be my setup, not sure.

It's annoying to remember to change each time, but it's a small price to pay I guess. I wanted to know if there's a way to do this better, so I don't have to do a clean reinstall at times to get it working again.

Plus, when I use anything other than my custom resolution I lose a good chunk of my resolution. I'm not sure whether that's called 'overscanning' or 'underscanning', but I can't get that setting in the NVIDIA control panel to commit to either option. It either resets to auto-select (which does nothing) or it may stick to Underscan, which still doesn't help. I mention this because even when I'm running WQHD fine, but then I run a game full-screen, it'll revert back to 1080p (1920x1080) which as before, gets cut off.

Also, I can't seem to get HDMI-audio working no matter what I try--anyone else have that issue?

-Thanks for your time (and the drivers!)

Hi! I'm new to the forum and very glad to find this thread.

I was looking for drivers to update my Vaio Z90s (custom fr jpn) with 9300m gs.
    card id VEN_10DE&DEV_06E5&SUBSYS_9025104D
    intel's VEN_8086&DEV_2A42&SUBSYS_9025104D

I wanted to try the hybrid drivers listed but I'm using Vista 32 bit instead of Win7... do the ones listed above work for Vista 32? Or can anyone point me to the link to download/install?

also I read that it might be needed to update the Bios but I wasn't certain if I need to. My laptop is pretty much only updated with official drivers...

    Any help is really appreciated.

Thanks for the drivers! I just bought my VPCZ133 second-hand, and it came wiped without most of the drivers or the original operating system. I'm using the NVIDIA 26314 Intel 2266 signed that was posted by Andrew for 64bit Windows 7.

Works like a charm, but I have to turn the system off in order to switch the graphics. Am I missing a feature? I have Vaio control center installed, but I don't see any features in there to switch the graphics.

It's not that big of a deal if I can't figure it out, since I plan to stay in high performance most of the time anyway, but I figured I'd see if there was a simple fix.

    Hello to everyone.

    I have an VGN-z11Xn_B laptop. (9300gs)
    I did a fresh install of windows 7 64bit.

I cannot manage though to get hybrid card solution to work.
First i downloaded drivers with Driver Genius but no luck.

Then i try the solution and link displayed in the first post here
Hybrid Graphics Master Set Drivers - Nautis1100 Hybrid and Optimus Drivers - LaptopVideo2Go Forums

but i was stuck with this screen http://www.nautisiandesigns.com/drivers/testing/Half-n-Half-03.jpg

Then i tried contacting sony to help but they directed me towards the recovery partition which i have previously deleted.

Then i tried the original sony drivers from the first post here (190.24 (8.16.11.9024) 2021 ) but laptop got stuck while shutting down after install and i got to shut it down manually.

After reboot i got stuck in the image shown above, again.

    Any solutions to this ?
I'm willing to do a clean install again if i messed up the drivers.

    Thanx to everyone !

There is a post inside this thread which version you need. And there is a way to force tha installation of a bios. Try <biosupdater>.exe /? Maybe it shows the right parameter. It could also be mentioned inside the bios hacking thread - try searching around. The fancy lines relies on the bios version.

Yes - you need a newer version of the sony shared library and one or two other packages. I think the versions are mentioned in this thread as well. Not 100% sure.

Does anyone have a decent mirror for Nvidia 263.14 (8.17.12.6314) - Intel 2266 (8.15.10.2266) - OS Windows 7 & Windows Vista? The Netload one that is linked to at the bottom of Andrew08's post is pretty much impossible to use.

Hey guys. I have a VPCZ1290X. I was wondering what driver set would work best for me. It's a hybrid setup using the speed/stamina/auto switch. I am beyond frusterated with Sony and hoping to find some kind of solution. I'm running Windows 7 64bit.

First of all I want to give big thanks to Andrew, Nautiz and everyone who helped on this project.

I've been going nuts from lack of Sony's driver's support. I have some experience with computers and tried to update the nvidia drivers by modifying the inf myself, but then I came accross the fact the intel/nvidia hybrid drivers are integrated.
Anyways, to make a long story short: I found this post some days ago and thought I would give it a try.

Since I haven't been following this thread from the start I had some problems installing the drivers provided by Schimmel. I followed the installation instructions given by Andrew and the driver signing walkthrough from nautiz. It was a bit confusing and I was unable to install the drivers. In the end with some trail and error I managed to get it installed.
I thought I would write a detailed fool-proof installation instruction in case someone else is struggling as well:

I'm using my original drivers that came installed with the laptop
    1. Download Schimmel's torrent and download the driver
    2. Follow Nautiz instructions on Driver Signing & Test Mode for Community Built 64bit Drivers
    3. Enable Test mode and reboot
    4. Express install the new drivers, windows will pop up a warning about unsigned drivers installation and asks you to proceed or abort. Proceed and reboot after the installation is complete. (clean install will not work, nor uninstalling the original drivers first because Windows will not be able to find the nvidia card)
    5. After rebooting, windows should have loaded the new display drivers. Check it by going to your Computer's Device Settings and look up the Driver Details of your GT330M and Intel display adapters.

The way I installed showed the drivers not digitally signed. So I assumed the driver's Schimmel provided were unsigned. I also wasn't able to sign them with the tool.
If Schimmel's driver's aren't the signed drivers, please PM me and I will try to help distributing the signed drivers on my webserver based in Shanghai Mainland China. Only got 6Mbit upstream and don't know how fast the connection will be to other countries like the USA or Europe.
One more thing, I am forced to stay in test mode to be able to use these drivers since I am unable to sign the drivers with the tool.

If I did anything wrong please correct me, I have read the instructions thouroughly and tried to look for other solutions but this thread has over 300 pages.

    Once again, thanks again everyone!

As far as I know, you have to stay in test mode but there is an option to get rid of the text on the desktop that says that you are in test mode.

I had the impression that the drivers were signed from the first page(hence the *signed indication).

Yeah, I've checked out that blogspot website but I thought it only supports windows build 7000 or less. I updated SP1 etc, so it says 7600. It's ok, I don't really mind

I want to install an hybrid graphic driver, but i have the modified BIOS.

The setup quits with an error after some seconds of installation...
I've not changed the win8 "Intel HD Graphics" to "vga", and i don't know how to do without "turn off" my monitor :D

Any tips? i can't use my PC!!!

I'm on Windows 8 as well.

What I had to do was: Start, type advanced startup options, go to settings and click it. Go to the bottom and click restart, click troubleshoot, advanced startup options, let it restart and select disable driver signing. After Windows loads, install the driver and it should work after that. Something like that.

I'm not sure if it's still disabled, but it seems to still work after restarting.

Disabled test mode and windows lost the drivers. But managed to install the drivers again with test mode disabled and all working now.
I double checked the display adapters under device manager and the driver details still say it's unsigned, but hell... at least it works and windows loaded the drivers so I'm happy :)

Thanks again Andrew, Nautiz and the gang

    Hey everyone,

I have a Sony Vaio VPC Z11 latop (2010). I hoped for quite a while that Sony would release drivers for this laptop, something I would have expected given the price and quality of this laptop. Nevertheless this has, unfortunately, never happened.
After a while I decided to google this issue and I stumbled on to this forum and it's array of threads on this subject.

After reading many of the 345 pages this thread consists of, I have a feeling I understand what I should do to install these community builed drivers.

I am running Windows 7 x64, with SP1. I have downloaded the driver from the torrent of schimmel23, filename:
    Nvidia 26314 - Intel 2266 signed.rar

As this is a stable and signed version of the drivers, I think I should follow the following procedure (minor spell errors may occur due to the fact that my OS is in a different language):

    1. Set laptop to speed mode.

    2. Go to config screen -> remove or edit programs -> double click
    NVIDIA Drivers. Select:
    Remove all drivers except Screen.

    3. Restart computer and set to Speed mode.

    4. Run setup of Nvidia 26314 - Intel 2266 signed.rar

    5. Restart laptop.

Is this the correct procedure to follow to install these drivers?

As this is a signed version of the drivers, I think test mode is not necessary to install the drivers, correct?

I have read that after installing this driver it is not possible to use the ' auto' mode for automatic switching of GPU's from GT330M to Intel GPU and vice versa, correct?

I have also read that it is only possible to switch from GT330M to Intel GPU by turning of the laptop, turn the switch to stamina and then turn on the laptop, correct? (and vice versa).

Thank you for answering my questions. I hope that this text will be helpfull to others also searching for guidance in installing these drivers.

    Sam. :)

    Hi all,

I've got a problem with the new Mercury Engine on Adobe Premiere CS6 and the version of the installed Cuda drivers. I use the 263.14-2281 video drivers from Andrew08 (big thanx man!) which include the Cuda driver v.3.2.1. My guess is that I've got to update the Cuda driver above v.4. Any ideas on how to deal with that?

As you already hacked your BIOS, I'd suggest to uninstall the outdated hybrid drivers and set VGA switching policy to static (in advanced menu in BIOS). The hybrid graphics switch then activates only the Intel HD or NVidia GPU until you reboot. Then you can install the latest Intel/NVidia drivers (NVidia needs two lines of the .inf file changed - more info here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/602497-latest-vpc-z1-330m-drivers-bios-hack-people.html). The newer NVidia drivers should support CS6.

I believe this is the only way to get it work since there is no support and no further development of hybrid drivers anymore.

I was wondering, since I'm on the lookout for a new monitor, does the Z13 with the nVidia 26314 - Intel 2281 support 1920x1200 @ 60Hz over HDMI or am I limited to 1920x1080? I don't really have the opportunity to test it out...

I´m confused about the following thing: i´ve connected an vga monitor to the dock´s vga port. In windows, my setting is the extension from the desktop to this external monitor. is this mode using the intel hd 3000 chip and NOT the ati?

I installed Nvidia 26314 - Intel 2266 or Intel 2281 signed driver as instructed.

First I boot pc in speed mode
    remove sony driver
    restart the pc
    install the signed driver

but in device manager this driver still showing that this driver is not signed. What shud I do to make it signed.
