Although I think that it is highly unlikely, but we can just hope that Sony USA comes up with some decent offers when they clear out their VAIO Z12 models once the VAIO Z13 models are officially available for sale in their online store.![]()

According to this post, it looks like it's finally sold out.
EDIT: Just tried it myself and as long as you pick items that are in stock, it will get you to the checkout ok with shipping date Oct 8th. The pages before the checkout says, "Estimated Ship Date Shipping Date is unknown" -
-
Yeah, but for consumers like myself who specifically need the 512GB SSD, the CTO discounted versions are much more valuable.

I sent an Email about their new prices and they replied me:
"Yes the prices were dropped. However we do not have stock of these any more.. You will have to configure the Z1390."
They don't have stock of these any more? So how can we buy them?? -
-
wow 1090.00$, plus what ever else discounts you can get is amazing . This is with raid ssd, lol! To bad im in the states and dont have the cash any way lol. Please post reviews, pictures when everyone gets there new machines for us to gawd over if you can.
-
$1090 ? It is CAN$1220 (US$1195) + shipping/tax
-
You could downgrade a couple things to get it down to $1090.
-
The base price just went up from $1220 to $1370.
The 1080p upgrade went from 570 to 700-something (not that it matters, just an observation). -
Bit the bullet!
Placed my order a few days ago before all this buggy stuff started happening on the website.
Apparently when you select "Add to Cart", it just brings you back to the website homepage now.
Estimated ship date is OCT8, *fingers crossed* -
Heard that the Adobe bundle will not be restored using the restore partition and that we needed to back this up separately? Could this be true?
Thanks in advance to the Z series owners who can confirm this.
EDIT: Found this on NBR:

I'm using a Z12 with the Win 7 Home Premium option. Did a full restore using the restore disks I burnt and everything was there. Was exactly the same as the factory default setup where I received it as far as I could tell.
-
Just and update. I got my shipping notification about 15 hours ago and I should have my new Z12 CTO in 2 days. It's a hot deal in my books. -
Does anyone have their order status as "processing." I ordered on the 24th and it is estimated to ship on the 8th
-
-
I am thinking about getting this deal. I have a friend in Quebec that can purchase and ship to me, but my concern is on the warranty support. I have tried calling Sony Canada and Sony USA, and I cannot get a straight answer.
Is this something I should be worried about? -
-
350$ for upgrade from 2x64GB SSD to 2x128GB SSD. Is it worth?
-
-
Looks like it was a better deal before the price hike to $1370. I just spec'd out the z12 I currently have with this CTO and it comes out to the same price, maybe $50 cheaper and then with the $300 trade in rebate I am getting, it ends up being more expensive.
-
It's still, however, the best laptop screen you can get on a 13" or less.
I just ordered one. A bit hesitant as it will only run Linux, and also because Sony has actively antagonized me in the past (rootkits, removing Linux from PS3s, etc.) However, for the price, there's no competition -- lightweight, 1600x900 bright screen, SSD drives, $1300 CDN. It's really the screen that got me, even if you have to go through *mad hacks* to get it to work in Linux -
Just check again. can't add to cart anymore.
-
Wow, really? Try changing different options, maybe there's just a certain part that's out of stock?
Mine went through today at 5pm EST -
Just tried myself. Doesn't work.
-
Good luck. -
Lower price is back this morning for the Z12 and Z13 CTO
however, we can't add the Z12 to the cart -
Bah, I already have a Z122GX/B, but at CAD$1220 I wanna buy another! >.<
-
.
Is there any body know Sony have global warranty. I have a T400 and when i travel, i can ask for warranty in many country. -
I was looking at getting the Z12 myself. I also was surprised that it was roughly $1200 (on the Sony Canadian web site) compared to $1899 at retailers.
Then I noticed the 150,000 (or so) Sony points link near the laptop. Sorry I didn't read the other pages and might have been mentioned but it looks like you need these redeemable Sony points to get the $1200 deal. I hope I'm wrong ... what a nice machine! -
You can use them to buy any other laptop, just take a look. -
-
I just phoned sony and they said there is delays and there will not be any updates untill the 11th or 12th.

Post on the Sony Style Facebook page earlier today.

Can Sony price match the Canadian price in the US? Or at least the sale price for the Z12 on the Microsoft Store website that expired a week ago?
-
Patiently waiting...
EDIT: Oh, and if you actually meant to pose that as a question, the answer is no; they only have room to move 5-10%, and the 10% discount only applies with an extended warranty. -
-
-
When did Canadians start getting better computer deals than mainland US? What is that all about? The world has been turned on its head.

99% of the time Canadians get shafted and have to pay 10-40% more for the same electronics stuff than ppl from US. And US is like less than an hour away from me by car.
The one time we get a better deal, the Americans suddenly get jealous. ;D -
-
Anyway, I humbly think it's about our northern neighbors get some "decent" deals because we almost always hear them complain about "the exorbitant prices" they're paying for consumer electronics compared to what we're paying here in the US.

BTW, we have better beer. -
