Actually i'm very impressed with the real time search feature of the latest Opera. I typed in my user name in the address bar that I go by on other forums and it pulled up the query search in the address bar.

I stand corrected as Firefox does something similar but Opera's appears to be a more powerful version of it.

I do like the new look and it is much faster than FF2. I just wish their were more Themes available. Oh well the default theme looks nice for now.

The add-ons in use on my PC are documented here. AdBlockPlus by itself tips the scales to Firefox (over Opera) for me.

Where do I go to change (or download maybe) a theme/skin for FireFox?
I'd like something black or dark coloured but keeping with the layout and look they have going on FF3.

That's weird because I find just the opposite. There are several sites where Opera doesn't open an ad window but tells you it did whereas FF3 opens the ad window.

Try these two. In The Dark is what I am using, and although it does not exactly replicate the buttons of FF3, it does incorporate the new three button keyhole navigation (Back, Forward, Recent) control.

Currently, there are no black (or dark for that matter) themes that preserve the original layout (buttons) of the default Firefox 3.

I can't post much by way of commentary on FF3 since I haven't used it much yet. However, many people have complained about FF2, but I never really understood why. Fortunately, I never really experienced a lot of the issues that people mentioned when talking about FF2's problems. I look forward to toying with FF3 to see what it's all about.

My wife and I like to watch streaming tv shows from ABC using the Full Episode player.
    http://abc.go.com/player/

Unfortunately, the player only works with FF version 2.0.0.14 at the moment. I have downloaded FF 3.0, but will hold off upgrading until this is fixed.

    * The Full Episode player works now!

Who cares how much memory is used, as long as it doesn't crash and it's fast, I have so much problem with IE that I'm enjoying FF3 right now.

People care about RAM usage so much in NBR. It's what all the tweaking guides are about. FF 3 still loads some web pages load far slower than IE 7 and sometimes render incorrectly too. But I agree that FF 3 is faster than IE 7.

Anyway what problem did you have in IE?

Is FF3 faster than IE7 or not?

    1. It can't open CNN videos
    2. Sometimes crashes
    3. Very slow
    4. The pages icons get mixed out
    5. Etc.

On videos not loading, the first thing to check is your Ad Blocker like AdBocker Plus. Disable it for that site or that page.

Another thing that sometimes causes loading problems is having Third Party Cookies Accepted not being checked.

I do not accept 3rd party cookies and that does create a problem on some sites. I have also found a number of videos that will not load while using AdBlocker Plus. I just have the AdBlocker icon permanently showing on the activity bar at the bottom right hand corner which makes it easy to right-click and add an exception for that site.

I've had the opportunity to use IE7 for a very short time until FF3 got officially released yesterday. Why? I wanted to have a clean install of FF3 so I deleted RC3 and used the monstrosity that is IE to make myself realize just how better Firefox is. Trust me, that thing isn't worth it's "browser" title; yesterday, you could just see me waiting for tabs to open (there were 2 or 3 at a time), randomly switching them in agony to see which one will get there first. It was horrible.

I haven't experienced a single crash in FF3, not even in the RCs.

I wouldn't go that far... The tabs in IE7 were quick and comparable to FF2. In fact I thought I read that FF was faster at launching the web browser but IE7 was faster with the tabs. Though I can't remember the source or confirm if it was true.

I never saw what was so great about FF2, except the add-ons. IE7 was very comparable to FF2 so I just used IE7. Now I'm testing out FF3 and we'll see what I think about it.

Oh well, maybe you're right, but I'd be darned if FF 3 isn't faster than IE7. Trust me, I've tried them both in a time span of a day, and Firefox is faster IMHO.

I've been using FF3 since Beta 5 and it has only crashed 1 or 2 times. Hopefully that was a one-time thing. :)

BTW does anybody have issues with FF3 and Facebook? Everything will be working fine, but every now and then when I click on a link within Facebook (home, somebody else's profile, etc), the page won't load and FF says "stopped" in the bottom left corner. No links work at that point. To fix it I have to open the link in a new tab and then everything works fine for a while.

    Has anybody else noticed this?

I like the fullscreen in FF3. The one or two times I actually want to use it I want it to take up the full screen. FF3's menu bar is so small anyways, on my high-res screen it takes up so little space that there is no need to use fullscreen for regular use.

I don't mind it taking up the whole screen; in fact, I like it. What bothers me is that when I hit Alt+B, for example, the menu doesn't pop down, but If I move around with the arrow keys, I can blindly open my bookmarks.

I'm thinking FF3 doesn't handle those intense pages well or the hosts need to update their pages, I'm leaning towards the latter.

So, Hotmail is telling me that an error occured during login and am forced to use the classic version.

It's telling me to clear my cache and cookies then try again...I've done this, login, and the same thing. What gives? Hotmail works fine in IE7.

Here is the message I get: "You are temporarily on the classic version of Windows Live Hotmail due to an error encountered during login. Before trying again, please clear your cache and cookies."

Either Microsoft needs to update their site, FF3 handles the page incorrectly or there's something wrong with our computers.

    Must be.

I'd be willing to put my money on the first theory. Of course FF3 could be just rendering it wrong. Parts of the Dell site are rendered inaccurately under FF3.

    Who knows?

I just wish web developers would all use the same standards.
