    I'm happy with current driver. The changelog specifically states that games mentioned in the log will see huge improvement on hd 620 and above.
    Unless you work on CV and deep learning techniques using intel gpu/cpu/MIC you won't notice anything major.

    @Phoenix I just wanted to know if it is usually fine to install the latest Chipset, Audio, LAN/WLAN, GPU, etc. drivers from Intel, Realtek, NVIDIA, etc. website and not from the Clevo, MSI, ASUS, etc. websites? Since they often have old drivers and do not update them as much.

    only install the suite if you are using RAID to manage the performance options and disable power management

    Also, be wary of these new IRST Drivers the last update fuxored up my system, I now just use the latest provided by MSI as its tested to work on my laptop so proceed with caution.

    these new IRST Drivers are more optimized for Optane bro

    As I should say it by myself. The only important Intel driver is Intel MEI driver!! There is less and less old spinning HDD in laptops today and not many use raid setup. Who wants to go back to the old days? :rolleyes: @Vasudev :eek:

    I can hardly get advertised battery on gaming just 1 hr. Those are conditions where your CPu is in passive mode and using least power with wifi turned off and connection to internet is through Ethernet and 30-50% brightness. I did achieve that kind of battery life on my PC, close to 9-10 hrs on 92Wh.

    But board manufacturers and Intel have stated they have HD gfx.
    So what do you do when you need longer battery runtimes when there's power outage?

    The iGPU is disconnected on all LGA laptops(Clevo and Msi Barbones). Expect lower battery life. Its a DTR. Not a Jokebook.

    Well that sucks.
    I thought it had dual GPUs that can be switched like older AW m17x.
    I don't like GSYNC which doesn't work most of the times due to crappy nvidia drivers.

    I have not the need to use an iGPU :rolleyes: Luckily with my MSI taptop, I can switch to either dedicated or integrated GPU and not both at the same time so I won't have to sit and wonder if my benchmark or game is actually using my nVIDIA GPU

    Intel GPU = no GSYNC brah :eek:

    I never ever use the Intel GPU. That's why for machines with Optimus they can't have GSYNC because the Intel GPU is active at the same time

    That's nice to know. It means FreeSync 2 will be working on 8th gen BGA chips. Ever wondered if ngreedia would be willing to switch to Freesync based on compulsion of ODM vendors?

    Clearly Nvidia will dominate the high end and enthusiast market for years to come. But AMD can dominate or overtake nvidia in mid range and budget oriented GPU.
    I really want GSYNC to go away for good and opt for Freesync.
    I think ASUS gave him ATI driver which is ancient. That explains, why Freesync doesn't work at all. :)

    I think it's rather opposite. New drivers from AMD for laptops is ****y :D Not the first time. The only one who work is the one who was shipped with the laptop :rolleyes: And all know how clever OEM's is to make ready working NEW drivers.
