Re-inserted the NVIDIA GTS 250 into the home server and configured the client to start folding at login time (not at boot time unfortunately due to the UNSTABLE_MACHINE errors). It's a little annoying that I have to login locally then lock it after a reboot - but I'll have to live with it...and the extra fan noise. :(

On the bright side, I expect to gain an additional 6000-7000 points/day now.

    Yeppers! Keep it up everyone!
I think I got a pretty good idea of what I can expect from my computers today, they got more that 50 000 points, that's pretty good!

I might be able to add my laptop to the ''folders'' soon, if I can find that frigging Asus Transformer Prime. I would then only bring the tablet to school and my laptop could be quietly folding at home (lame pun totally intended).

Nice Gaz, definately pulling a good lead. Hopefully I can close it soon :p

For some reason, everytime I come back to my R2 I'm getting an error that one of the clients has failed. Normally it's one of the GPU's and sometimes it's the CPU. This takes one of the clients offline till I get to my system and close out the notification. It's killing my point scoring :( I'll have to reinstall F@h tonight to see if that helps. I should be averaging almost 20K/day. I need it to work right since I'm going out of town for the weekend too.

How do I check my realtime stats?

I don't think there's any "real-time" stats to measure. You get a WU, work on it and if it works then you get points (or you get 0 if it fails). Since there's no middle-ground between success/fail, points are only added after a successful WU.

You could perhaps measure your average points per WU (or hour, whatever you want to compare against), but you'll have to do that manually.

All depends on the hardware. On the original post you can look at the differant stat boards, and that should give you an idea. Check those. I should be averaging about 20K/Day but having issues right now with several clients crashing. If I can get that worked out I should be at about 20K/d but for now I'm averaging around 12K/day.

Definitely depends on your hardware. On top of that, it'll be difficult to measure if you constantly connect/disconnect like I have to. Only folding with my W520 and I have to take it to class two times a day, plus wherever else I need my laptop.

I'm hoping to build a F@H desktop with a Sempron and maybe some mid-class nVidia card, but that won't be for awhile. In the meantime, I'm hoping to get a small laptop and leave the W520 at the dorm to fold 24/7.

    Yea, I want to build a desktop as well. Currenly all I have though is an Intel DX38BT motherboard and a few CPUs for it. Q8300, Pentium 4 2.8Ghz, Pentium 4 HT 531 - 3.0GHz , Pentium 4 HT 571 - 3.8GHz.

Anyone have an idea whic the best CPU is? I'm guessing the Core 2 Quad? I'm not even sure the pentium 4 cpus are compatible with the Mobo. Whats the best CPU I can stick in the motherboard?

I see. I checked and I am estimating I can get up in the 10k range at least.

Yeah that would be cool. Unfortunately I don't have any spare desktop parts.

QX9770 is the best but expensive. Otherwise QX9650 or Q9650 which is hard to find.

    I noticed this:

    Bartlett's contributions to Folding@home

I have been running FAH Control beta 7 on my GPU and CPU for about 5 hours. My score is 89.

Now yesterday I ran the FAH 6.34 SMP and got a much higher score after only 10 hours at 875:

    Prophet's contributions to Folding@home

Am I doing something wrong or do you only get credit for WUs after they are complete and not while they are going?

    ahah Same here man! :p

My output has taken a massive nose dive over the last few days it seems. I've been out of town since Sunday and won't be back for a couple more days so I won't be able to check what exactly has gone wrong.

Most likely either someone has kicked out the PSU again or turned off power somewhere ;) lol :(

Awesome stuff guys though. Theres quite a few of us big hitters now I see which is great! :D

8 million in such a short amount of time  Amazing!

Yea, my folding is taking a hit. Everytime I come back I see that a client has failed. It get the pop up fah.exe has quit or quit responding or come jazz. When I click close program, it restarts the client. It's getting agrevating. And it mostly seems to happen on my slave GPU. I'm praying it's not a bad GPU. Shouldn't be as temps never break 70*C. Not to mention they are undervolted. I'm going to reflash my GPU's tonight with the 6990vbios, rather than the M8900 vbios I currently have on them. I uninstalled/reinstalled F@h lastnight, but can't seem to keep it going. Not sure whats going on.

    Nice!!

Joined in on the team effort. :3

Finally stressing both my i7 2720QM and my HD 6970m @ 710 MHz Core and 1000 MHz Memory.
My notebook is now acting as a heater for my room. lol

I could even get my PS3 along the ride but im unsure on how effective it would be.

    Welcome to the team! :D
PS3 are not very effective indeed, Johnny T and my both tried and our PS3 got 251 credits after completing a ~6 hours WU.
My graphic card goes through a 1300 credits WU in about 60 minutes..

    It's on my M17x R2. I'm using the latest V7 beta. :(

Any ideas? Going to post it on the F@h support forums.

Im using AMD Catalyst 12.2 Preview and it seems its fully utilizing OpenCL on my GPU.
I checked temp. sensors and im at 90c on both CPU & GPU.
My i7 2720QM maintains its maximum turbo clock of 2,6GHz on all 8 threads.

    Hey DR man,

I was just wondering if your R2 CPU was OC at all? Like in the bios or through TS whilst during folding?

I would give setting the BIOS back to default settings with no CPU OC (not even the nice little 5% boost) then test folding for a few days to see if it keeps on crashing the client. I know its weird since it is pointing to the fact that your GPU client side has failed or corrupted however I had a similar issue last time a couple weeks back. However mine was just BSODs non stop really until I took the CPU OC off. I would also driver sweep your GPU drivers and try a fresh set again just in case.
Let us know how you go man.

    Cheers. :)

I may switch to 12.2 to after researching to see if there are any crossfire issues. Currently I'm running 11.10 drivers.

Have you considered repasting your system to try and drop temps a little? My 6990s are at a 1.0v and stock clocks and sit around 70* tops. CPU is around 80* tops with a 5% OC and added 75mV.

Maintaining the stock multiplier is awesome though. Should do pretty well. What is it averaging as far as PPD? Around 8K?

Well I finally took some action on it. I left the CPU at 5% OC with the +75mV in the bios. But I upped the memory voltage to 1.6v. That didn't help as it crashed after 5 min. of folding. It was suggested in the F@h support forums. So I decided to remove the M8900 Firepro vbios, and use the standard 6990M Vbios. This seems to have done the trick. It has been folding for about 9-10 hours with no crashes, where as one client would crash inside 20-30 min. Also I would come back and just as you said Chief, my system will have recovered from a BSOD. But now with the 6990M vbios it seems to be working. So it looks like I'm good to go out of town again this weekend and get some good folding done on a consistant level. I kept everything the same as far as clocks (stock) and voltage (1.0v underclocked from 1.1v) so it seems it was just a vbios issue. I hope I don't see any more crashes.

Thats brilliant man! Great to hear.
Hopefully theres no more BSODs or client crashes.
Now I need to get my folding back on track. I've lost a couple of systems but hopefully the M18x power can make up for the loss. I also found out why my folding output had dropped for the past few days. There was no power in the house due to the thunderstorms. I'll have to get them back up and running when I return from my trip.

 Man look at Thierry :D Henry go go go ey!!! Pedal to the Metal! :p

Also TOP 900 here we come oles!

    Cheers. :)
