okie dokey. got a few hours this morning before work so time to do a little more folding. SMP set to 2 to ensure GPU loaded at 100%. GPU set to 830mhz on the core!!! Looks like I will earn 511 points in 2 hours
I have found in game 810/950mhz although not stable gave same performance as 830/900 which was 100% stable so I am going to leave the memory at stock from now on. 2GB GDDR5 at 900mhz I doubt will ever bottleneck. -

Nice! Looks like more and more people are trickling in
Wish they would speak up here so we know whos who
I think it's pretty obvious who I am
How is it that Courtathor has 5 WU and 0 pts? Missed deadlines? Incomplete WUs?
-
-
Yea, I just looked at Johnksss profile. Looks like he quit folding in June, but he had 343,533 pts with 709 WU. Compare that to our ratios and were doing great! He hangs out in the M18x section a lot. Particularly the benchmarking thread.

Yea, I'm not sure we can get him, but I would love to!

GPU is running circles around my CPU. Kinda sucks that I only have one GPU!
-
Yea. Maybe stick a 5870 in the slot. Don't really need crossfire to work. Even crossfire disabled it will run both gpu's. I wonder how that would turn out or just BSOD. I really need to edit the firepro drivers and get them installed.
Hmm. Since gpu clucks dont need to have synced clocks, i wonder if you could crossfire a 6990 and 5870...someone needs to try it! -
TurbodTalon Notebook Virtuoso
All of my 5870s were fried before I even got my 6990, so I don't even have one to try. I wish I still had my PS3. I could run an instance on there too. What is it that actually determines how many points you'll receive per WU?
-
I think at Stanford they determine. They bench WU before release. Also based on how quick you return the completed Wu.
Bigger Wu get more points -

I am outta the team for now. Something wrong with my laptop! Won't boot past the windows boot logo
-
Jason -
Who is courtauthor on our team? He has 15 Wu and 0 points. We need to help him out and figure out what's going on and get some points for him.
Who are you??? -
I just need the device ID of your GPU as well as the place you got your Firepro drivers from so that I can modify the driver and make sure it is the same version as the ones you have.
-
Awesome. Ill get that to you tomorrow. How do I get the device Id?. also got the drivers from Dell.com for the m6600. Unless AMD May javelin better ones. But I didn't see any, not that i looked too hard.

Changed my sig for the day
Tonight I'll revert back to the holiday spiritThought it would help with promoting the F@h team.

Sounds good, so the AMD Drivers are newer than Dells? Makes sense as Dell is always way behind. Maybe during lunch I will grab my phone and remote into my 17x R2 and get the device ID.

Congrats to Chief for over 200 WU! -
-
Nice, even if its Firepro M8900? That would be awesome.
-
Theoretically it should work with all Firepro cards, since it would be a pain for AMD to create separate drivers for different cards. I could try, and if things go south just use the last known good configuration
if things go north, I can release it for HD6990 users if they want to use it

I was looking at the folding stuff, but forgot how to actually get it to run on everything. lol
-
If you instal Client V7 (OP) It should just pick up everything automatically. GPU0, GPU1 and SMP1 Than there are a list of options to make it download the next WU when the current WU hits a certain percentage. The options are on the original post if you want to tweak.
-
John,
with THOSE 2 cards, the 2960xm, and v7, that thing will fold unbelievably well, and we need all the points we can get! (Or you end up like me, 90 workunits and a 50k score)
Jason -
Cant seem to get it to run on my gpus. And cpu says it will take 9 hours and 8 minutes to complete. @4.0 ghz 4c/8t
-
9 hr for the CPU isn't too bad. Takes my SU7300 @1.6GHz 2c/2t 5+ days
Have you added the GPU slots? You may have to do that manually.
Advanced Setup (CPU+GPU or multiple GPUs)
1) Now we set up the client to take advantage of any remaining hardware. First we change from "Novice Mode" to "Expert Mode". Simply click the drop down arrow next to "Novice" and choose "Expert".
You now have access to a lot more information, which is explained in more detail in the second post of this guide. For now, ignore it, and we'll set up the GPUs.
2) Click the "Configure" button in the top left of the client. Then go to the "Slots" tab. Now, you can add an additional client. Assuming you set up with the SMP client initially, you can now add as many GPUs as you have available.
3) Click the "Add" button, and you are brought to a screen where you can add further clients. For the GPU, simply select the " GPU ID" box. For the ID, you can either manually set the GPU to ID 1, 2, etc. Or, for ease, you can leave it at -1, and the client will figure it out itself. Click "OK" to add the client.
For now, ignore the "Extra slot options" section.
4) Repeat this for however many GPUs you have. Congratulations! you've just set your computer up for Folding@home.
Now, you can leave the client on "Expert Mode", or switch it back to "Novice Mode", since it looks a bit sleeker".
The next post explains how to enabled -bigadv for CPUs with 8+ threads.. If you don't want to worry about that, the client is basically set up, so you can skip on to the 4th post, and see how to configure HFM to actually monitor your client's status and performance. -

John, try running 6.41 if the GPUs aren't being picked up by v7. That's what I'm doing with my 560m and it has helped it produce about 9k pts / day.
Jason -
Says gpu0 not found
-
-
John, have you tried GPU3 (v6.41) of folding that's in the homepage?
Jason -
Yeah, that's what it's running now.
Just trying to remember how to run both gpus though -
John, should be able to put in a slot gpu0 and gpu1. I guess I lucked out and it just started both of mine automatically, along with the CPU.
Are you using v6.41? or 7? -
I was trying to use 7 but it wouldn't setup up the gpus right. So I tryed 6.4 and it works for at least one gpu.
-
Nice, and if it works for one, it should at least work for two if you add another slot for GPU1. Though I havn't messed with 6.4 so hard to say.
-
Should I be using a different version if I want to use the GPU (see sig)?
-
Yea, check the OP and try V6.4 or add a GPU slot. Go into config. I posted a link on the last page (spoiler) that shows how to add a slot. If that doesn't work try V6.4 GPUs fold much more efficiently and gather more points. I think the PS3 CPU though is even faster at Floating Point calculations used in F@h.
