I too think 500 posts is too steep. Perhaps 250?
Well, even if you're not on the team, you can still ask us for questions/help/suggestions.

I am pretty active on NBR but I dont have 500 posts. I think it should be solely based off activity not posts.
-
I have been misunderstood (or I've said it wrong). I will not remove everyone that doesn't have 500 posts, but I will remove non-active members in the first place, then we'll see what's what.
|crash|, it's bit too much, I was just throwing a number.
ThunderCat69, unfortunately activity = posts (excluding reading the forums). You have posts, no worries.
I wouldn't mind someone posting once a day or once a week, but I am sure that I have some inactive members on that list. I will have to remove them, as I have been told that everyone can join the club. I want to be polite in taking these actions, without anyone feeling "weird" about it. It's not all very serious though....

Hey, is there an official sig banner that we can use? I noticed a couple of posters have one, but it seems as if maybe those are specific to the user. I certainly don't want to leech someone's personal sig banner.

Yeah I realize Ram is only a "container" however I figured that because Vista is such a resource hog, and since I have a video card that shares Ram with the processor........and since Crysis (for example) is a high end game........that increasing the available memory for graphics use would allow me to run higher settings than I've been running in the game itself as it would have more access to that container........obviously since I can't run max settings, and it's not processor related, I must need more GPU memory access no? The end result is that I saw no improvement.
-
I made some which everybody can use. Check on my sig.
FTB was ment to put all that into his first post but seems like he has forgotten -
Nice Destiny, thanks for those. I saw a couple of those in use, but didn't know whether they'd just made them for themselves. Good work.
-
At some stage people were saying that they are slightly too big. I didnt get a chance to change they yet, so when I do, FTB needs to put them in the first post I guess.
-
-
Yep, sure
-
I will put that post in my first one.
-
I'd like to be part of the team as well. I've been using XP x64 for 2 years and have a Vista x64 Sager NP9262 on the way.
-
-
tsuzukab, you only have ten posts. I am afraid it's a no go for now.
-
-
So what are you saying is that by adding everyone, no matter the activity, we gain what (not talking about anyone in particular)?
Not everyone wants to be active, but instead just want their name on that list, even though they're not gaining anything in particular. -
I don't know what purpose "The List" solves in the first place.
For example, if you took my name off "The List", I couldn't care less. I'd help out users regardless, as per my knowledge, whether or not my username is in the first post of a thread. So....?
-
That's not the point. The point is that I'm not sober and not willing to get into philosophy right now.
The idea is to have a team and what's the point of having a team without members? I don't want to play soccer all by myself, do you? What's the point in having inactive users? That's all I'm saying, nothing else...
I have said I will remove non-active users (no posts for a long time, once a month posters, etc.), not everyone with a low post count. Posts don't mean that you're a great user, they just mean that you have activity and from my point of view that accounts for at least 10% of what a user is. Like I've said...no need to get technical. I don't want to get replies saying that I add everyone to the list (probably made some mistakes).
There is a point in everything...and if you want to go on that path, please don't as I am good at talking a lot of non-sense stuff.
PS: Everyone's welcomed as long as they have activity on the forum. The more the better. I am not gaining anything if there are more people on the list I have on the first post, but in case something occurs (like Les trying to make a point on Dell's ideas site) it's better to have someone to help make a point. -
All I can say is before I took the leap into uncharted waters with Ultimate 64, I knew nothing about 64-based PCs. When I stumbled across the x64 team, I learned alot of about this OS and any question that I had about it was answered. Good thing I did find this thread or else I would not have realized that Ultimate 64 is the best Vista OS. I could not be more pleased with Vista x64.
-
I'm happy with all of us being an active and supportive team together.
I hate x86 (I'm very subjective right now) and always try to push x64 forwards in everyone's computer. I guess my friends think I'm a geek, but at least I know what's best. -
I'm having a problem when I try to put windows to sleep under high performance mode. It doesn't work when I close the lid or manually clicking the sleep button. It works fine under balanced and power saver modes.
M1330
Vista x64 Home Premium
Nvidia 8400GS v156.69 (from windows update)
Mtron 7025
Thanks
EDIT - Figured it out. It was the multimedia settings under advanced power settings that were not letting the system to go sleep. -
I am afraid I have a bigger problem (not related to the OS): I have to reset the BIOS after every "sleep" if I want to use the computer again. It's apparently a BIOS/hardware issue that the manufacturer can't replicate.
I always modify those power management schemes after I install Windows. I hate the way they want me to use my own computer. -
awais, you need to check the behaviour of the system in power options for high performance mode. It probably has it set not to go to sleep when on High Performance and that's it.
-
I'd like to join the x64 team...
-
-
For sure I would like to join. I want to put the banner in my signature, but I haven't gotten a response from Fade to Black, so I don't want to overstep anything.
-
-
-
Fade, what system are you running?
-
I have added both of you, Friar_Tuck and KGann. I was away from home today (my cousing had a laptop problem, so had to visit him).
For now I have a custom desktop, X2 4000+, X1950 Pro (Sapphire), 2GB (Geil), MSI K9N Neo V3 (the problem maker) and 200GB SATA (WD). Updating the BIOS has caused me another problem (the BIOS couldn't remember the settings after boot, so had to downgrade). -
I've been running x64 xp pro for a while now, and I have to say I like it a lot for then 32bit after I got used to the drivers and their slightly crippled functions (printer). If you tell me what I have to do, I would like to join your team.

Be an active member, that's all
.
-
We should have almost like a hazing session for new members!
-
...That would be fun...I say we all load up a humongous CS:S server, and they have to defeat us with only knives, or oversized-Tuna fish.
-
-
Over-Sized Tuna Fish is code for "UMP" =D -
Thanks Fade To Black, hopefully I can be of some assistance.

I haven't ran into any compatibility issues yet, although Nvidia drivers are a little tricky to install.
-
Hey thanks guys rep for you

64bit vista_ is nice so far! The only thing I am missing out on is the ability to change the color of my lights and integrated/dedicated switch, so I decided to dual boot with xp
