LOL, yeah. And, we don't even know with 100% certainty that O&O ShutUp kills everything completely. But, it definitely feels better than using nothing. The only way to be certain would be to have no internet connection. These are digi-Nazis we are dealing with, so only a fool would think they will not always have hidden backdoor controls in place to have their way with us if they want to badly enough.toughasnails, hmscott and Papusan like this.

Yup... just like we learned in school as kids... Red means stop, and green means go.
Windows 10 without hacking to fix it as much as possible is just one smelly, nasty, gigantic red bucket-o-feces and a major no-go proposition. Even after it's fixed it is still kind of that way, but a little bit less repulsive. @D2 Ultima is having a barrel of monkeys trying to test something for me with UWP game filth.
No point in wasting money on malware protection when the OS itself is malware that hi-jacks everything it touches.
Then you look in the mirror after installing Windoze OS X and ask yourself...

do you guys know which settings to enable disable to allow windows 10 games such as gears of war 4 to be played? Mine keeps signing me out when I try to play
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Make sure you don't disable the Synchronization Settings. Set these back to RED:
-
Sweet thanks Phoenix. I'm gonna disable those later. I actually have everything enabled except "automatic windows updating 1 & 2" which was the one that was blocking me from gettig into gears of war
-
@Shoutoutjt
Most of the internet subjective information I see strongly suggests disabling all of those synchronization's - and to disable the main synchronization enable, as they are there to stop sending all that information to Microsoft.
Unless you want to have those settings enabled to synchronize between Windows devices?
If you only have one Windows 10 machine, there's no need for the synchronization - unless you are wanting to restore to a new build? Am I getting warm?
Do you want those on to keep settings between clean installs?
IDK, I am not comfortable with having all those tunings shared with Microsoft. It's not too much trouble for me to set them again on my own.
I can export my browsers state - Firefox, Chrome, Opera, others - independently of each other and Microsoft, which is all I really need.
Otherwise with Windows changing control panels so much I don't think I trust Microsoft to migrate and map dead settings to "new" settings without Microsoft "helping" in the translation - opening up further information data sharing to them.
I'd rather go through all the settings panels again myself anyway to see what's changed since the last time I went through it.
It took me a long time to allow Google syncing for these and other reasons, and I only do it for things that are tighter with the OS, again not my browser or passwords or other personal data.
I'd leave everything disabled that shares information with Microsoft.Last edited: May 11, 2017tonyr6, Vasudev, toughasnails and 2 others like this. -

No version ever had that issue and neither does this -
@0lok had the same issue as I did, it won't allow the 2 of 2 to be disabled and we had to use WUB to get this service turned off.
Apologies if I'm being a numpty but either a Windows Update stopped this working or O&O have done something as I only had that installed on my Win10 machine and couldn't stop that service.

Redstone 5 is so buggy that any update is welcome in the little hope that the idiots at Micro$h4ft might have fixed it -
I guess I have been lucky so far. I've got it set up on my desktop (triple booting) and it's got all of the cancer intact and so far so good. It has not been buggy at all and it performs better than 1607, 1709 and 1803. I still like Windows 7 best and 1607 better than 1803 or 1809, but no problems specific to 1809 yet.
And, I'm glad to see that BigMuscle now has Aeroglass released for v1809. I hate Windows 8.X and all versions of Windows 10 UI without Aeroglass... it is just so gosh-awful ugly in its natural state.Last edited: Dec 18, 2018Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
I have not found any solution for this. Windows Update Blocker v1.1 did not help as well. What I tend to do is that every boot on my laptop I always check O&O Shut up 10 all the time and make sure it is disabled. Like what @Mr. Fox said there are other solutions for this but you would need to be like him. Loads of knowledge about windows and a very computer savy person. I only use my laptop for gaming and browser which is why I have not encountered any problem or not knowledgeable enough to know there is a problem. I just keep reading here in the forum to get info from people like Mr fox, Papusan, Ultra Male and etc. if there is a huge mess from windows that would affect my daily usage of my laptop. If you find a solution, please do share. ^_^
-
Use NSudo, open services.msc with TrustedInstaller and all privileges enabled, then disable Windows Update and Windows Update Medic Service, Security Center and Background Intelligent Transfer. Then reboot. Ignore O&O ShutUp10 UI if it indicates that Windows Update is still enabled.

It's a feature
The whole TRASH is buggy. Both Windoze Crap X, in combination with O&O Shutup10 and Windows Update Killer (WUB).
You can check the "Automatic Windows Updates disabled (2 of 2)" box in O&O Shutup10 if you run Windows Update Killer in <Enabled> mode and same time remove the check box for "Automatic Windows Updates disabled (1 of 2)"... Afterward you can check both boxes without problems. Then will Windows Update Killer automatically switch from Enabled to Disabled. So long... everything work in O&O Shutup (all boxes checked). Aka all is happy
But once you click Enabled again in Windows update Killer so will the task "Automatic Windows Update disabled (2 of 2)" in O&O shutup screw up and you can't switch it back. Just live with it. Run it as it is + WUB.
Do my task above...
Once you run Windows Update Killer click <Enable>. Then disable afterwards... You are back to step one.
You should. Never be Micro$oft's or any others UNPAID guinea pig. Not a single reason have it enabled, bruh. Their apps is trash in same way as their patches.
Here we go. The way it has to be... How to use WUB
For you brother.
Only “enable if needed” in offline and not connected to internet.
Of course not. Read my post above.

I agree with you Papusan, users just accepting updates are being used as Guinea Pigs by these moron's who've lost their way - and I don't want anyone screwing up the PC and software I bought and paid for with my hard earned cash.
I'm sure with each update they open up yet another way to spy/take over control/or install more junk we don't want or need, and I'm not making it any easier for them. Every time there's an update we have to find a fix for it, or another way to disable whatever sneaky app or adverts they've slipped in....
Glad I mentioned this now, seems I'm not the only one it bothers!Last edited by a moderator: May 7, 2019Papusan, Mr. Fox, 0lok and 1 other person like this. -

Ha, maybe you guys should check my computer to see how, because Windows update does not work on it at all (I probably disabled it somehow, not sure how). I wanted to update to 1809 and update never worked, so I even downloaded MS program to check and fix the update. It did fix it for one update run and after that Win 10 update again no longer works on it. BTW as far as I know setting internet connection as metered stops the updates from happening (at least they don't show in history) even without O&O Shutup 10, so I use it for everything else, but updates.

Maybe NOT..
and learn some manners! saying things like "please" come a long way... -
Sorry, but I think you misunderstood my post, I really don't expect or ask anybody to check my computer, it was kind of a joke, that you guys are trying to stop the updates, often in vain and on my computer update simply doesn't work at all and I'm very happy about it, since I do updates manually, so you guys should check my computer, see how and set yours the same way, but again it was just a joke.
I know you're helping others set up their computers to the point of actually log in to their systems doing actual tinkering and that is absolutely amazing and you have my respect and admiration for that, but I do not ask or require any help of any kind. And, yes if I ever did ask for help, I would do so in proper manner, I hope.
