Only way I could get the gadgets to open was to move the UAC slider up a notch because I keep mine disabled because it causes Rivatuner & Coretemp not to start up properly on boot.

Why is there even a sticky thread for this? Isn't W7 a beta anyway???
Shouldn't W7 users (re: masochists) be submitting comments to Microsoft (if they are even accepting them at this time)?

    Newsflash: Beta = Buggy.

You're right. It's totally stupid to talk about what we find and ask if there are possible fixes or workarounds.

@ Signal2Noise: W7 is a beta. This is a forum. It is here for like minded people to share thoughts and problems. With this particular thread it is for people to share there experiences not necessarily to find a fix for these problems, more of a way to express what you see. Kind of like having a chat :)

I'm still getting graphics corruption issues (flickering, thick, moving line) across the taskbar and window "chrome" even with the updated Intel X3100 drivers pushed via. Windows Update. :(

    Feedback has been sent. :)

Usually when I'm in Firefox browsing webpages, but happens occasionally in other programs like IE as well. This never occurs under Windows Vista, so I'm assuming it's driver related.

This is not exactly a W7 bug, but a CCleaner bug, i think. CCleaner finds 127 invalid registry entries each time. Not a big deal, but anyway..

CCleaner works fine on my system. Maybe you have been installing/uninstalling lots of programs. Or maybe you have a problem with your install that causes your registry to find invalid entries all the time. CCleaner has yet to cause me any problems, or have lots of repetetive invalid entries in all the OSes I have used.

I`m sorry to post about this , it would take too much to read all the answers..
Did anyone get any laptopvideo2go drivers to show the Nvidia Control Panel? 3 different drivers and nothing so far...

And all games when trying to run them from installed XP partition give out errors, like:
    "side-by-side configuration is incorrect" or
    some dll is missing ...

    181.22 worked for me.

On another note, my old Dell M140 had terrible display distortions for a while and I couldn't figure out why. I finally realized that Windows 7 managed to somehow update the Intel 915 drivers, which do not exist for Vista so therefore can't possibly work for 7. I disabled the drivers and reverted to standard VGA adapter. Worked like a charm!

What printer on X64? I posted how to print on X64 from a printer shared on XP for (I believe) an HP printer. Same thing should work on Win 7. I don't know where it is, but you can do a quick scan of all my posts if you'd like.

Yes, well...W7 says I don't have the right printer on my XP Machine. Same with Vista. So, hooking up the printer to my W7 laptop, install W7 drivers will not be okay because my USB001 port will be on the laptop and not on my PRESCOTT, which has XP.

I appreciate input, but people, read what I post. I find the HP printer, I am not 3 years old, it does not work because the HP printer has ...an XP driver and Vista and W7 won't install such a thing.

You might want to read my post. It has been a while since I posted a link to the fix so HP printers installed and shared on an XP machine will install and work on Vista x64, so it might not work for you. However, in the future please mind the tone of your reply. Don't assume that I am a three year old that doesn't understand what you are looking for.

When you explain your posts with a lot of detail, and I come up with a solution that makes you look like a moron and has no connection to the issue at hand, you will snap the same way I snapped.

Winrar is not integrated into the system, I have to manually extract the files.
I can`t instal any chipset drivers.
RMClock is not compatible , although it was working fine on Vista 64.
NOD32 is also giving me a hard time..

    Darn it...

RMClock works fine if you download the 64-bit drivers in the Undervolting Guide.

HDTune gave me a CPU Usage of -1.0% just now. Could be a bug in it too, but I know Win7 isn't quite the ace student in the stats department (it told me I had over 100% disk usage once, too).

I have this issue as well in W7 64. I cannot update the drivers. The install will not get passed detecting. Sometimes I can get it to finish but the drivers don't actually install.

Is there a way to forcibly delete the old (original) drivers and force new ones? When I try to force updated drivers it tells me my drivers are up to date and doesn't let me change them. Grr

No Issue with RMClock on 7000, 7022 (both x86) or 7048 (x64). Winrar integrates fine with all (have you tried winrar>options>settings>integration>context menu and selecting the items you want?) and lastly the 7048 found all, i repeat all, of the drivers for my hardware including the chipset.

    What chipset do you have?

This may very likely solve your problem:

    http://icrontic.com/news/intel-chipset-drivers-for-windows-7-have-arrived

You may not be able to get them to install automatically since you already have chipset drivers installed. To force an install, unzip the above to C: and rename the directory something easy like "chipset". Then press the windows button, type "cmd", right-click on "cmd", and select "run as administrator". With the command prompt window open, browse to the directory you created with the setup.exe file in it, and type:

    setup.exe -overall -overide

My disk performance is way improved with the Intel chipset drivers.

I'm having one strange problem with the latest 7057 build (but I also had it in 7048).

Upon doing a new install I noticed that when I go to change the library location(s) that the 2 default library locations for any library (documents, music, video, pictures) are listed as "unresponsive". When I change the library locations to anything else they are then listed as "unsupported" but don't seem to have any problems with functionality. The libraries are listed as "unsupported" regardless of where the library location is; it doesn't matter if the library is on the C: drive or an external HDD.

Anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks JackBoot, repping you. Using these Intel chipset drivers definitely gave my laptop more pep.

Regarding your other post, I tried to change/add a location as you described and also had a problem. In my case, Win7 notified me of a problem and then said it was going to reboot. So I also had a problem with that.

Good to hear the chipset drivers worked for you!

Sounds like the library has a bug in latest builds. I had the problem in 7048 as well as the newest available 7057.

Do you report that bug anywhere?

To be clear, the library is working for me - it just lists the locations as either "unresponsive" or "unsupported".

7057 does not have the "report a bug" links to send info to MS so I haven't reported it myself. I guess I'm assuming that they are aware :D

-Logitech SetPoint won't let me set "SetPoint" implementation, OS Implementation overrides
-ATI's Catalyst Control Center will not open for me

Those are my 2 biggest bugs so far. I disabled UAC and allowed unsigned drivers pretty early on so all my other programs are functioning. Since installing the Catalyst 9.3's I've had far fewer crashes, I think my GPU driver was causing a lot of gaming problems.

bleh, i just encountered the System Events Notification Service bug, where everything resets to the most basic theme/appearance, and the more advanced options are grayed out. not sure how to resolve it, but it somehow fixed after i waited some 10-15 minutes for it to shut down after reinstalling my audio driver.

LCD brightness cannot be controlled unless Ambient Light Sensor is enabled. This bug was on builds 7048 and 7077 also. Tried both x86 and 64-bit, same results. Everything was working correctly in Vista x64.
