Mostly just touchpad issues, and after getting fingerprint drivers, the darn thing still wont work. O well.![]()

upper portion of screen (like around the title bar of a maximized window) flickers occasionally. At first I thought that it did this due to the changing wallpaper but I just watched my wallpaper change twice now and it hasn't done it.
At least it's not flickering a band across the taskbar like build 7000 -
Currently having issues with any music player...Winamp I love and tried using first but freezes and locksup while connecting to external music/hardrive..
iTunes wont even load now!! I try to start it and it just shows up in processes, but sometimes it works after i reboot... help? -
Windows sizes change erratically. One app opens in full screen, some apps in mini mode.

give this a try - i had same odd flicker issue on my dell studio but this seemed to fix it

Another small bug I noticed:
I have the following pinned programs to the taskbar (in order from left to right):
- Windows Explorer
- Windows Media Player
- Firefox
- Windows Live Messenger
Anyways, if Messenger is open and I click on Firefox to open a window (wasn't open at all before) and I minimize the FF window, my Messenger main window automatically maximizes to the desktop. Not a huge deal, it's just weird. -
I've updated to the latest Intel chipset/graphics drivers from Windows Update
and it's only made it worse, now the upper third of the edges/titlebar of windows flicker when maximized. -
Windows 7 has compatability issues with Daemon Tools and MCafee Security Center. Both do not install properly.

After a fresh install of Windows 7 RC 32bit on my Dell Inspiron 9400, I updated my X1400 drivers through windows update. After the restart, I get a black screen. It seemed to me that the system was not hung, so I plugged in my LCD monitor to the VGA out and had a picture. The drivers were installed fine and everything seemed to be working.... on the external monitor. I tried installing the latest AMD/ATI drivers (after mobility modding) and They too installed fine and gave me a picture on the external LCD. I tried everything possible in the Catalyst Control Center to get the 1920x1200 Panel to work (even by limiting the resolution to the same as my external LCD. I tried extending and cloning the display. I tried to find an inf file for my panel (LG/Philips LP171WU1 17" WUXGA), but there is none to be found. I ended up working my way backwards through ATI's drivers untill I found one that worked with my panel. Catalyst 8.1 works, but it's only a few months newer than the latest Dell driver (7.11).
I hope that MS fixes this so that others aren't left without a picture after installing this update.
I hope that the crew that maintain Mobility Modder can fix this issue as well.
If anyone has a solution for me, please reply. (please no "Contact Dell" or "Use latest Dell driver")
Thanks -
The flickering of on-screen elements is getting worse-this is a showstopper for me, and if it doesn't get corrected in the final product (I think it's crappy Intel graphics drivers) I won't be moving on to the final release.
Just now, my entire taskbar became a flickering, corrupted mess-the icons in the notification area disappeared except for the battery. Only running my mouse pointer rapidly across the entire taskbar multiple times brought everything back.
The same thing happened to the title bar in a maximized Firefox beta 4 window, the bar, along with part of the menu bar, became flickery and blurred, then eventually came back.
I can see the upper third of the perimeter of the screen doing this too, sometimes a horizontal line that spans the width of the screen appears as well.
Ah the joys of a beta -
I upgraded my Vista x(64) laptop to the Windows 7 RC (64bit). Most disappointing was that the 64 bit Internet Explorer 8 could not be set as the default browser. The 32 bit version of I.E. 8 would not connect to the internet, nor would Firefox 3. So, I could connect to the internet by opening I.E. 8 (64bit), but programs that opened the default browser got no internet connectivity. (default browser being either I.E. 8 32 bit or Firefox 3).
I did a clean install (no choice) of Windows 7 RC on my old Win XP Sony VAIO Desktop Pentium 4 32 bit with 1 gig memory. No problems. Runs good, runs fast. -
I dont know if its been said already, but, when loading (with the cursor and the spinny thing) it moves around by itself a couple pixels.
Maybe this was fixed in the RC though? Im about to install it. -
I got a huge problem. I need to stop gadgets from starting on start up. Any ideas?

found a bug...
if you have windows live messenger (and/or chat window(s)), and you open the on screen keyboard, it minimizes...
little , but annoying. -
When I click start--->Games, my harddrive all of a sudden runs nonstop, and my laptopr does nothing until I manually shut it off. Any ideas what could be happening?

Same issue as Vista for me. When you make the start menu links on the right into menus, then open a menu and then open a different one from the start menu, it shows an outline and not the actual menu. The menu works, but you just don't know what you are clicking on.

Maximising windows on FULL HD resolution via HDMI is choppy
.
Have had the same with : Build 7048, RC1, Latest RTM branch build.
I've tried every Nvidia driver out there and this does not change. On very high resolution, Aero becomes sloppy
.

Theres the event viewer throwing exceptions... (pic attached with stack trace).
the taskbar seems to leave a transparency residue if dragged around.... (left top right bottom, must right click and change it through properties instead.. - maybe it's just my custom theme) .
don't know if this is a problem or bug or not but it's bugging me.. stuff like msn won't minimize to system tray... and stays on the taskbar (taking up room).
edit: one more thing.. if you say.. had msn open but closed the view(closed - "minimized to system tray in vista and xp" - it's still down there on your taskbar though), and say you were running firefox maximized.. when you minimize firefox.. it opens up msn window for some reason.. instead of just bringing to desktop..Attached Files:

I don't know if it's a bug or it's built that way, but in the Library, changes you make are do not show until you refresh the directory. For instance, if you move a file from the Library to another location, that file will continue to be displayed in the Library until you close/open it back up again...

Not a big deal to most I'm sure, but Window Blinds doesn't work with W7.
I'm guessing it's not really a W7 issue but rather an issue WB needs to sort out. I hope. -
sorry if this is mentioned b4.
i am running win7 rc 64bit. when i load ie8 (both 32 and 64bit) for the first time after a reboot, i get the message "your last browser session closed unexpectedly, do you want to go to home page etc". however each subsequent time i load ie8 there is no problem. only the first load after a reboot. i have disabled all add-ons and still a problem?
anyone else with this? -

7-Zip x64 isn't compatible with 7600 (build 16385). I get a BSOD when trying to resize the window.
Hopefully they come out with a newer version. -
Does anyone else get Norton 2010 beta displaying silent mdoe has been turned off everytime they exit a full screen app? It could be abug for norotn or Windows, but Going to post it anyway.
And also, if you mouse over the icons on the system bar, has anyone noticed that the icon is lit as if the mouse is still on the icon (i.e. white dot under unopened icons or color on opened ones if that where your mouse last was on the taskbar.)
EDIT: The bug went away, without a reboot even. What I also noticed when I had the bug though, was Aero Peek didn't work unless you clicked the icon. -

When you do Win+tab, WMP 12 reverts back to normal screen size from full screen mode. In Vista WMP remains in full screen mode.

I have a start menu bug where only half the menu is shown. -

Anyone getting any issues playing Steam games in Windows 7? If I play CS:S, it will sometimes crash if I try to play a server (before opening up the game).
No issues in Windows XP. -
