NOTE: After installing Windows, launch REGEDIT and search for Windows.SecHealth then delete all the registry entries to prevent recurring even log view errors pertaining to the removed Windows Defender

Thanks a lot man, I went to option 6 > then 3 (Rebuild source image) and now the ISO is only 3.7GB

@Mr. Fox -
And, there are LOTS of them. Using a tool like RegOrganizer makes quick work of it... search, then two clicks to kill them all.

RegOrganiser and their uninstall tool is a wonderful tool.Mr. Fox likes this.

Yes, indeed. Brother @j95 turned me onto it. It's excellent. So are FileMenuTools and NSudo. All excellent items to have in your digital tool box. If you run RegOrganizer using NSudo with TrustedInstaller rights you can pretty much remove whatever you want to with relative ease. I use it to rid my system of all the obscure traces of Micro$lop OneDrive/SkyDrive Pro/GROOVE virus filth, and that's another one that likes to lurk in the darkest shadows and crevices of your Windows OS X registry.Last edited: Jun 29, 2017

i will use your iso to remove all that is possible with the tool and upload it

The tool is great. It's the damned Windows Updates that does the most damage. You've got to disable that filth and keep it disabled. Sometime it only takes a few minutes for the cancer to metastasize if you re-enable it. I've had OneDrive cancer re-inserted multiple times after having removed it from the ISO, then removed it again later, and the virus keeps coming back.

Only delete one key in reghive software in install.wim, number 3:
SFC/ScanHealth and clean remove inbox appx package without mum (example SecHealthUI):
1. Remove all package files in system (MSMG yes)
2. Remove all package files in WinSxS (MSMG no => files for recovery package)
3. Remove install key in reghive software (MSMG no => even log problem?, install attempt?)
4. Remove package key in reghive software for WinSxS (MSMG no => recovery attempt?, SFC/ScanHealth problem?)
5. Remove package key in reghive components for WinSxS (MSMG no => recovery attempt?, SFC/ScanHealth problem?) -

I'm confused, can you please post step by step how to do this after removing the stuff that I want from the ISO? -

Do it. I see so many leftover Registries from onedrive etc. I'll wait to update to this.
Anything new other than the Cumulative update for 5.8? -

With your bloatware free edition, we just use RUFUS to make an ISO, plug into computer, and make it all nice and shiny clean no ifs ands or buts?!
(ie: the giant youtube video with MSMG is no longer necessary?) -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Exactly, just customize Windows to your liking and sail away after installing your preferred Antivirus. I recommend Emsisoft Anti-Malware OR ESET NOD32. They're the lightest I've tested and the only ones which don't mess up your system.
-
Thanks!
I'm going to use the premade one as a "safe setup" and then I'm gonna follow your video and your wisdom to make my own (ie: read swimming book, then swim)

Sure, should you need any help, please feel free to ask about any concern. -
is the .net framework and dx9.0c in the iso, or do we users still have to integrate it manually in your premade build?
PS: HIDev for the win! I just bought my alienware from them (and there's a 960 PRO waiting for it)Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Nothing is integrated but the latest Windows Update to prevent any errors.
I just installed the .NET Framework 3.5 manually after installing Windows:

Welcome to the HIDevolution Gaming Team. Remember, since we're on the same time, you can let me know any time if you want me to login to your machine using TeamViewer for any final touches/tweaks. -
thanks!
once I get the new baby I'll let you go and see what it looks like. I kinda miss WinXP Lite (and did I ever make good use of it).
I think I'm going to do my first install using the premade, and then run from that, but keep the "custom one" as a sandbox so I can tweak and learn. The only thing I may add beyond the usual programs and whatnot is the Samsung NVMe driver - that 960 PRO has to be able to exploit the lanes.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

well, in preparation for your new machine, I guess it's time to fix your signature

(ok, so i'm confused by your wording)
in essence, that download from today I don't need the 700MB update; it's built in and I just plug n play.

@Phoenix I was curious about the normal windows 10 lock screen, normally it rotates through various images every day. Is it safe to assume that was part of the telemetry or other things you had removed from this ISO?
-
It's disabled because it's a channel for ad distribution. Sometimes instead of a cute photo, you get advertisements for Xbox games and so on.
-
I've never seen an ad or game on the lock screen like that before. It's not a big deal, but it was one of the few small features I liked or didn't mind about Windows 10, curious if there may be a way to re-enable this one feature while leaving everything else removed and or disabled instead of having just a blank blue screen. I mean it's not the end of the world and I supposed I can always grab a few images from google or bing and make a slideshow myself but there were some nice photos that come up there heh.

1) I don't have a password and never used hte lock screen
2) By default, the lock screen has the spotlight background which gives you ads, so you wanna disable that and set it to a static image -
I don't have a password and have it actually locked, but if you let the pc go to sleep and wake it up or whatever, default 10 gives you random images of space or nature and **** where as on this version it's just a blank blue screen until I hit enter and log in. I was just curious if this one specific feature could be re-enabled aside from setting my own image no big deal.

is this windows pro x64?

Comes with both Home and Pro Retail versions. And you can use FireFox or Chrome or Maxthon etc.

I advice you not to install this edition of Windows and use the regular install if you're asking such a question. No offense meant but this is meant for really advanced users and I wouldn't want you installing it then not knowing how to do this or that or why is this or that missing. -
@vb b was asking if he/she can use another browser instead of IE or edge.

Phoenix,
Did you, by any chance, add the packages posted by moderate from MDL to your bloat-free ISO? I see you were active there...

Hi Phoenix, great work, can you explain how can I add spanish language to your iso?
And can you say me the advance windows components you remove?
Thanks. -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
you'd have to create your own ISO then, the instructions are in the original post of this thread, but you will need to download the language pack and use the MSMG Toolkit to integrate it, for more guidance / help, visit this thread (you have to be a member) >>>>>>>>> MSMG ToolKit
I am not providing any guidance on how to use the MSMG toolkit other than what's provided in the video in the original post as this is beyond the scope of this thread. Best ask in their own forum where the author himself can help you or other users.
As for what was removed, check the original post, everything is mentioned there.Last edited: Jul 8, 2017 -
Amazing! Though I have a question (apologies in advance if this question has already been answered within the 55 pages this thread currently has)
If I have chosen to disable Windows Defender via the ISO tool, I would assume I no longer need tools such as AutoRuns to disable Windows Defender related stuff? Windows Defender is already gone entirely, right? -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
Correct, but the only thing you would then have to do after you have installed Windows is, run REGEDIT, then search for SecHealth
Then delete the entries, press F3 to search for the next, and so on. If for any reason any of those entries does not allow you to delete it, simply take ownership by setting the owner in the permissions to everyone, then add everyone to the security tab and give the everyone group full permissions, then try to delete that entry again.
Doing this, will prevent any event log errors from appearing where it is trying to start Windows Defender or its services and failing since it's not there. Then you won't have any event log errors pertaining to Windows Defender anymore.DrawingDrag0ns, Support.2@XOTIC PC, Aroc and 2 others like this. -
Phoenix,
your OS guide and clean windows is a GODSEND!
do I still need to use http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/windows-10-tweaks-and-fixes-index-post-1.779394/ (the tweaks and tips guide) on a Phoenix'd ISO?Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -

Thank you for the nice comment my friend.
Yes you will need to use some of those tweaks, as stated, they are tweaks. Consider them as polishing up your nice car which is already clean and many of them are just preferences.
But just to give you an idea, since the Photos app from the Windows Store is not there, you will no longer need to use the reg file to have the classic Windows Photo Viewer app as your default image viewer. Simply go to PC Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Photo Viewer, change it to PAINT then back to Windows Photo Viewer and that should do the trick to have all images open in the Windows Photo viewer, just as an example. -
Bro @Phoenix , thanks for this awesome ISO. I'm looking forward to finally installing it tonight.
Does the current ISO allow access to 1) Store apps (sorry - it's Forza's fault)
2) Standard W10 picture viewer (not sure if it even has a name)
Out of the box. If I want to add either do I need to redo the ISO and add them in. Or can I just go and download them from the Windows store?
Thanks in advance brohmscott likes this. -
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
1) The store app is there, so feel free to install any Micro$h4t garbage from there at your will (no pun intended)
2) The Xbox app wasn't removed as it is necessary for the Gaming Mode Placebo Feature to work
3) Since the Windows Store Photos App was removed, just as stated above, now the classic Windows Photo Viewer App works even without the need for any reg tweaks. It is much better, is able to view any image files, and is easier to use when you want to print stuff, highlight all the pics you want, right click on any of them, hit print, choose the layout and you're set
