Bro thanks for the fast reply. From what I'm understanding , should I want to add the Windows Store Photos app I can still do it right ?

If you like *any app* you can add it, they were simply removed, its like a clean ISO, feel free to install any Windows Store apps that you may or not find useful to j00 -
Sir, you are a savior. This OS out of the box is out of control and absolutely unacceptable. I can't get over the measures that need to be taken now.
What you've done is a great service to self respecting citizens all over the world.
Too many exhibitionists obvious don't mind Peeping Toms because I've encountered the all too familiar 'I've got nothing to hide' argument (which actually isn't an argument), far too much.
Curious has anyone noticed how the mouse bogs down (under telemetry load? lol) every now and then with the standard install.
Just eww. -

Thank you for the nice words my old friend.
I don't know if you've used the stock Windows 10 before, but the moment you install this, you will feel as if you're on a different OS. Everything is just so snappy it's unreal!Last edited: Jul 10, 2017Ashtrix, hmscott, TBoneSan and 1 other person like this. -
That's great news. Now I can download Ubuntu from the windows store and replace windows with it.

Anyone know a more permanent way to get my color or ICC profiles to stick better when launching full screen games? Creators Update broke this feature for me, usually I do nvidia control panel custom color settings... used to work fine... sigh... my screen is so dark cause i overclock from 75hz to 100hz you see
also, am doing a clean install soon, does your bloatware free edition still have windows defender or not? i want that crap gone

This issue is allegedly fixed in the next major Windows build, so you'll have to wait for that I'm afraid. In the meantime, I've been running my games in borderless full screen. For titles that don't specifically support it, you can use a program called Borderless Gaming to force it. This is actually the only way to get Resident Evil 4 Enhanced to work properly in full-screen mode with an NVIDIA GPU. -
Thanks for the update, looks like I will be waiting for the Fall Update before I do my next clean install then. Maybe @Phoenix will butcher that one for us too, make it nice and snappy? Please senpai? I snuggle long time

The problem is brand agnostic. I get it with certain games on my MSI.

I really meant @Lynx2017 PC config, a 5TB on a laptop, I haven't seen that and Audio chipset and speakers, frankly haven't heard any of it. So, I was wondering if it was Clevo or other custom PC like Falcon etc.
-
It is Clevo yes.
5TB HDD cost me $200 in america, its worlds first 5TB laptop hdd, released late last year. have had 0 issues with it. its been heaven having all that storage. my only regret was that I bought the 500gb Samsung 960 EVO, when for same price I could have bought a 1TB SSD. oh well, I will be selling it all summer of next year anyway when I go back to Desktop build. I just wanted to tinker/have fun with this hobby while traveling Europe/grad school. I can't afford to do to much, so having a gaming laptop was a must for me, so I don't get bored and such.
-
Is it p870dm3?
-
nope, p670hs-g - no worries, i decided to just use the zeffy github hack to get rid of Kaby Lake DRM, and am doing a clean install of win 7 ultimate N tonight... can't stand this crap anymore... might give win 10 another shot if phoenix guts the Fall Update for us and my color profiles stick after overclocking refresh rate through nvidia control panel ^^

I checked that 5TB HDD on Amazon and Newegg, it says it's 15mm, how did that fit in your laptop?
I don't think that would fit on most laptops would it? -
I had to do a little shoving, and raise the top SATA port a 2-3mm, didn't break anything, been solid for 8 months now no issues.

Nvidia informed me my color profile is not sticking because of game mode and night mode... anyway to remove those with this tool? Maybe I will make my own OS after Fall Update hits... game mode doesn't do crap anyway s I won't miss it.
-
Ask MSFT and they will shoot down Nvidia. Try Borderless Gaming Software. I dunno if it works but its worth a try.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/help/4018124/windows-10-update-history (and the link at bottom that sends to catalog to download each update on its own) Can we use that website to update the latest updates while leaving SHUTUP10 turned on? I wanted to get the new July updates for this bloatware free edition, and next month, and so on and so forth, that way I don't have to re-install or allow SHUTUP10 to allow Windows Updates
Not sure if it works, just curious if it will mess up anything if I try lol
@Phoenix -
You can update safely w/o any worries, AFAIK. OOSU 10 and other app settings will be reset only when you're upgrading from One Major/Minor OS to another. Other than that, no issues.Last edited: Jul 19, 2017

The problem with this tho is if you have windows 10 home edition and your nvidia driver is not the latest version, windows 10 will automatically update your nvidia driver as well.. I tend to update my nvidia driver to the latest 1st then disable O&O SHUTUP 10 then update windows 10 then enable O&O SHUTUP 10 again then uninstall the crap latest nvidia driver using ddu and install the nvidia driver that i want. Its abit of a process coz of the price dor having the home edition but if there is a way to update windows offline please add it in your guide @Phoenix THANKS...

Already have WU and BITS disabled and took a step further by disabling driver updates and MSFT MRT from downloading through WU using WinAero Tweaker. BTW, I took out the telemetry as well using Winaero tweaker.Last edited: Jul 20, 2017

I thought Phoneix and ShutUp10 already took care of telemetry?
-
I'm using Custom OS w/ everything stock and added tweaks out of the box.
-
Same, and I did the SecHealth regedit thing Phoenix said to do. Running great so far... i am using malwarebytes lifetime key for my protection, its the only program i trust for that stuff. everything is fantastic and smooth though. i don't think im going to re-install again until Phoenix guts the Fall Creators Update the same way. this is fantastic experience.Vasudev likes this.

I created my own version of W10 using NTLite and all bloat is present because sometimes those component removals breaks Visual Studio. So MSDN stock ISO with added tweaks using NTLite.
-
There is no need for that.
Simply take his edition.
Disable unnecessary (see Black Viper's recommendations) and voila.
The rest is deeply integrated into the registry, and takes quite some time to filter through.Vasudev likes this. -

Hello
I have installed windows 10 creator bloatware free V5.8.
I have a problem with windows update.
It blocked on the cumulative update KB4025342.
Update failed, and each day, there is a new download and a new failed installation.
'A security issue has been identified in a Microsoft sofware product ..."
I have tested manual installation, but it's the same.
Thanks for help.

Can anyone else comment on this if they have successfully installed the update?

Have you tried running Windows Update troubleshooter?
Another way is to stop Windows Update and BITS service, after that use Bleachbit w/ Update Uninstaller option ticked and run it, it will reset the update history and delete every failed downloaded msu packages.Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
After some tests.
Windows Update troubleshooter :
Detect data base error : Corrected
But without effect.
If I run Windows Update troubleshooter 2 times : Detect data base error : Corrected each time.
But update failed ...
Bleachbit :
Delete files in windows\softwaredistributions\download
KB4025342 Update failed.
But after that, windows update download automaticaly KB4032188 ... and update failed.
Windows 10 version is always 15063.447. (KB4022716)
I have tried a manual update of KB4025342. Failed
New cleaning with Bleachbit
windows update download KB4032188 ... and update failed.

I cant get the update to install either.
-
Did you try to update windows using online and offline package at the same time?
Have you rebooted the windows and tried deleting the Software Distribution folder entirely? -
I have rebooted each time.
When I try to update 'off line', I have stopped windows update service.
I did not try to delete the Software Distribution folder entirely.
I'm going to try. -
I have deleted the Software Distribution folder entirely. (With windows update service stopped)
Rebooted.
Stopped windows update service.
Off line installation of KB4025342.
Reboot ...
Installation failed.
Version is always .447 -
Start Windows Update service. Afterwards, open command prompt as admin and paste this command Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase and hit enter for the command to run

I think accumulation of older SxS and improper cleanup of these older assembly by Windows is the cause. Can you try Dism++ and select WinSxS cleanup, Windows Update history, WIndows Download Cache, Temp files. It will take 30 mins or more depending on the system specification.hmscott likes this.

Dism++ and select WinSxS cleanup : Error.

Unlucky !
-
Try sfc /scannow. It might not fix anything but I believe it will cleanup pending files.
If you have linux, try deleting files in WinSxS under folders named Pending Names or something. Don't delete the folder but its contents. It should take around 10-30 mins.hmscott likes this.
