well so far everything is going smooth for me, high performance is on, fully re-done everything... all fresh drivers. I will let you know if I run into any issues while gaming.

 

I can confirm that you still need to use these old drivers in RS3 bloatware free addition, my color profile is not sticking with latest Nvidia drivers. looks like 378.92 for life. sad.

 

after install im missing windows driver foundation im on home edition. is it ok if its missing from services? also missing gpedit msc

Being easy to fix does not excuse the behavior. It is symptomatic of a far more grievous underlying problem. Because Micro$loth is run by imbeciles and that is just one more example of their idiocy. We need to all make a big deal of their stupidity and create a hostile environment for them. Maybe then they will pull their head out. Better to motivate them by fear of losing market share than leave them to be guided by their own stupidity. We have lots of examples that the latter is only effective with yes men and Redmond Kool-Aid drinkers.

It really begs the question if their lofty market share goals are for real. When they do stupid stuff on purpose to make Windoze OS X such a suckfest, it is harder to take them seriously.

So just fyi to everyone overclocking from 75hz to 100hz, we are screwed.

I just went to play Battlefront 2 free beta this weekend, says sorry you must install newer drivers, 378.92 is not compatible for this game... wow... I have no words anymore man... PC gaming is worse than ever, this is such utter crap. So basically I have to jet out 3 grand for a 120hz laptop screen if I want the proper gamma AND high refresh. ugh... well lesson learned, stop buying monitors if you plan to overclock them, the gamma correction process has wasted so much of my life between this crap and the QNIX 1440p 60hz to 110hz OC days... time to stop being a poor peasant boy and just buy better gear. Think I will roll with a 165hz 1440p or wait for CES 2017 to see if any 240hz 27" 1440p are coming. going to skip 4k and ultrawide i think. 1440p 27" just seems to be the sweet spot for everything I do. ultrawide is great in some games though I do admit.

 

That's really sad, but that sounds more to me like a Micro$haft RS3 piece of crap problem. If it worked on RS2 and now it's broken on RS3, there you go. no no you misunderstand, we had to use the old drivers on RS2 as well, Anneversary edition we did not though. Nvidia drivers stopped enforcing color profiles in RS2 after 378.92 and RS3 is no different, but some games, Star Wars Battlefront 2 beta this weekend require newer drivers for it to work, which is separate from all of that... but well not really, it all comes back to Win 10 is just a piece of utter crap, that we can agree on. we can't even go back to Win 7 or 8.1 either unless willing to do the DRM hack, ugh, its just so frustrating.

I just installed latest drivers, using Color Profile Keeper now to enforce gamma, doesn't work for every game, but most games, but at least I can play the new star wars beta this weekend, I am curious to see if the combat in this game is utter crap like the first game.

I have 2 questions though. I am dual booting Windows 7 on multiple machines and have zero issues with it. The first question is, why can't you go back to Windows 7? My second question is, what is the DRM hack you mention? I am not using it and everything works flawlessly.

NVIDIA Control Panel also is missing the feature option to use the 'highest available' refresh rate with newer drivers. You can force it using NVIDIA Inspector driver profile tweaks.

kaby lake and above has DRM with windows 10... Microsoft released a patch not allowing windows updates for windows 7 and windows 8 if your using kaby lake or coffee lake or ryzen. I am guessing you use custom win 7 install, and leave auto updates turned off? prob use something like WSUS offline updater to install your updates?

Oh yeah, that. I completely forgot about that bullcrap. It does not affect me for the reasons you mention. I stopped allowing Micro$loth to control my updates about 5 or 6 years ago, and shortly thereafter stopped using their cancer updates. For the most part I have no use for them. I am not concerned about the security hype and generally only use those that are required by third-party software and drivers (i.e. Kernel Mode Driver Framework). I forgot about that nonsense. WSUS is good and so is Simplix W7 pack.

Having only tried W10 once due to hating it with every fibre of my being and then purging it from everything I could, reading the last few pages really makes me look forward to being forced to use it when my Ryzen comes... Also, if RS3 is such a terrible turd, is there any chance of getting the RS2 version of Bloatware Free/is there any reason to actually get the RS3 version?

 

I've deleted the RS2 Bloatware Free Edition so now you have to use this. But don't worry, all the bad stuff can be sorted.

RS3 now has a 3D Objects folder under the user library even if you don't have or have uninstalled all apps that have to do with 3D Objects. Here's the fix:

I have an ISO of every x64 version of W10 Pro and a about 4 different versions of Enterprise x64. I can do anything I want with W10 and reject anything they want me to do with W10 if I don't feel like doing it their way.

i'm trying to use wondershare filmora and adobe premiere and it says i'm missing WMVcore.dll . does this have to do with not having windows media player? and if so, how can i get it back..?

Microsoft did ship a Companion app on 10240 build on retail versions and syncing Droids/iPhones/WP was super fast and I did really liked the app.
@Mr. Fox and @Papusan An update for you guys, being an insider the Windows Store is actually changed/renamed to Microsoft Store with their Windows Logo.

Type Optional Features in Settings app or type them after hitting Start, proceed to install WMV player. I actually removed the legacy IE and WMV and switched to Groove Music and Edge (for older websites)

I hate UWP filth with a passion. I hope it ultimately fails and they pull the plug on UWP trash like they have with Windows Phone OS. The sad thing is, Windows Phone OS was better than iOS or Android, other than a serious lack of useful apps. The UI and functionality of it was excellent for a smartphone OS. They seem to have a real knack for screwing things up and focusing too much effort on stupid stuff that doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

 

A part of the problem we experience today. People buy filth, and more similar trash will be designed and thrown out in a hell of speed from all laptop manufacturers. Exactly same can we also see for the operative system from Micro$hity today.

But I use Groove Music, Calculator, Photos and some MSN apps. UWP will stay for couple of years until they decide to pull the cord. I completely agree with you there, they do something out of the world but fail to market it properly in fear of overtaking Google and Apple. I tried an iphone 7 (gave it to my mom) before switching it back to my Lumia since there are less apps in Indian App store, heck even WP store and play store has more selection of apps. Actually, MSFT apps on iOS and Android are using some UWP modules IIRC from Windows Central Blog.
One thing I observed was Sound quality on Groove Music on W10 can't be matched by iTunes. On earlier version of Windows, iTunes Sound quality was superb but not anymore!.

That hurts a little!!.

@fuc847 can you please just download this https://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm and use the media player that installs with that. why for the sake of all that is holy would you want to use WMV... and for music use Foobar. no one reply to this or like it, I can't handle peasants anymore, I'm out peace ~

 

thanks i understand, i hate WMV also and i dont plan on using it. however, i do video editing and i use adobe premier and wondershare filmora which both seem to REQUIRE WMV related dlls. i actually tried to copy it from another win 10 installation i have but it doesnt work still.

 

Check under Media Features that Windows Media Player is installed. If it is, then uncheck it, then hit ok to apply the changes, reboot, then add it again

 

figured it out... apparently the "N" versions of the install does NOT have windows media related files. i didnt know that... learned the hard way.

gonna reinstall now.

but THANKS for this bloatware free, i like it

 

just use a different media player... VLC even... you make no sense to me, but sure.

game mode is now disabled by default, but you can enable it for game specific, for example when you are running a game use WIN + G and click in game mode icon.
