it didn't give me access denied, just make sure you are giving the administrators group permission. If it didn't work, take ownership of the entire key and set it to everyone, then try giving the Administrators Group AND the EVERYONE group full access
let me know if that works

Changed ownership to administrators. Gave full access to everything listed.
Now I just get a generic "error deleting key". Wondering if this might have to do with Home not having group policies.
If the only thing that happens is a bunch of background errors, I'm not going to worry about it - don't think I've ever looked at the Event Viewer.hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

@Phoenix: I do use CCleaner, Autoruns ( Probably all programs from Sysinternals Suite and NirSoft) and Enhanced Disk Cleanup. Thanks. I used O&O SU 10 before and memorized everything it tweaks, now I disable everything for extreme privacy using services.msc

Anyone do any before and after benchmarks with this?
From this video the guy mentions that his input lag dropped by 5ms but he also changed his motherboard and got slower ram so im unsure what impact windows 10 creators had.
If this lowers input lag by 2ms or more its worth it to me.hmscott likes this. -

@Phoenix Downloading right now. I was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade from Anniversary Update to the Crematory Update? Is Game Mode worth it? Does anyone use Game Mode? LOL. Also What is the most stable Nvidia for the Crematory update? I am just so Impressed and curious with the free bloatware that you made. Is it worth the hassle?

Ok, here we go.
So after backing up my old laptop's data and cleared any important files, I decided it was time to give this a crack on the g/f's new (re, my old) laptop.
Downloaded and setup the boot drive.
Now for most of you, this won't be a problem, but for the others that are using older computers/laptops, you will need to check the USB booting options in your bios and may even need to choose MBR partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI as I had to, in addition to using a USB 2.0 port instead of a USB 3.0 port. The joys of working with legacy equipment I guess.
Now I'm no stranger to doing fresh installs of windows but I can't say I've ever done such a by the guide install before.
I had a bit of a heads up, because I was lucky enough to be given some of the tools required to complete the setup when @Phoenix setup my new laptop.
The video was easy to follow but expect to pause and sometimes go back a little as when your unfamiliar with something, or the screen resolution is different so buttons are slightly in a different location. In other parts, the gaps give your system time to process as not many systems are as quick as his setup. For people who are familiar with their advanced settings, you may find some sections a bit slow and want to skip forward from time to time. But I feel this guide is targeted for the novice to average users.
Not everyone will want to follow his steps as there is some personal choices, however by showing you how to change them, you will be able to adjust them yourself, and that's just as useful.
Combining this video, with his other guides such as
- How to properly install Windows on a system with multiple drives
- Windows 10 Tweaks and Fixes
- MSI GT73VR 7RF TITAN PRO Drivers
- Boot, partition and setup Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition
- Tweak the start bar, install windows shell to make it appear like windows 7
- Safely make registry edits
- Make a backup image and boot USB for recovery
- Avoided temptation to connect to the net, and install and reboot after each driver was updated
- Apply program tweaks to further customize the environment as I like them

@Archagl
Creating v4 of the Windows 10 Creators Update as we speak. Due to some demand from users who require the below features, I have not removed them this time from the ISO. They can easily be disabled and are not necessarily classified as bloatware like the other stuff I removed such as Cortana, Telemetry, Windows Store Apps, etc.
Retained:
Microsoft Edge
Internet Explorer
Windows Defender
Windows System Restore -

@Mr. Fox
After some research on MDL Forums and a bit of trial and error, here is the correct order when using the MSMG Toolkit:
1) Load the source then choose your edition (Home or Pro) as the work done is made as per the edition of the ISO loaded currently
2) Integrate the features that you want such as the Windows 7 Calculator and DirectX 9.0
3) Integrate the latest windows update(s)
4) Remove Default Metro Apps > Select Option 1 to remove 3rd Party App Links
5) Remove all metro apps except Store and Xbox
6) Remove OS components like Connect App, Maps, Telemetry, Skype > then Advanced Windows Components like... Windows Defender, Edge, IE, Home Group, etc.
7) Run the MSMG Toolkit Cleanup Command
8) Apply the changes
9) Load the source again (same edition you loaded in step 1)
10) Integrate the .NET Framework 3.5 Component
11) Apply the changes again
12) Then start again at step 1, and perform the same integration / removal actions you did for the edition you selected first, so if you loaded Windows 10 Pro first, now select Windows 10 Home and repeat the steps again
13) Create the ISOLast edited: May 7, 2017Vasudev, Fire_Child22, steberg and 2 others like this. -

Maybe there's supposed to be another download option on the Major Geeks download page than "Authors" Site, and I tried reloading the page to refresh the content, but no luck, still the same.
Everyone else posting success is outside the US, maybe that's the problem, MG's needs to add the new links on what is presented to the US users?Last edited: May 8, 2017 -
