no one replied to me from the MDL forums but it seems like it messes up something in the OS. It doesn't come in my way anyway so it's fine to not remove it and be on the safe side

Let's wait for them to download it and upload it to their servers
Changelog:
- Created with the new MSMG Toolkit v7.2. Now the 3D Paint Context Menu is removed by the tool so no need to run any reg tweak later on to remove the context menu
- Integrated the latest Windows 10 Cumulative Updates released on the 10th of May which brings the Windows 10 Build to 15063.296Papusan and Fire_Child22 like this. -

It's up: http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/windows_10_bloatware_free_edition.html
Since all the Windows Store apps have been released in this build, you will want to install the Xbox app after you have installed all your drivers and connected to the internet in order for the Windows 10 Game Mode to function properly.

Quick question on this.
On previous builds of windows, you could select what updates to install and what not too but it appears that with windows 10, at least in Home, you can't.
This update has steel series keyboard driver update that I don't want. It's listed as optional, but can't find where to uncheck it.Last edited: May 10, 2017hmscott likes this. -

Remind me again, you have Home or Pro Edition?
With the latest O&O ShutUp10, it has the ability to disable driver updates, not sure if it works with the Home edition though, it works on mine and many others'

It's not actually windows asking me to do the update. Nod32 is.
What I'm curious about is if I run windows update that's pinned to the win 7 start bar, if it will skip the drivers. If you set it up in O&O, then I'm sure it will be fine. Just wasn't sure.

If you have it disabled through O&O ShutUp 10, then it shouldn't offer driver updates.hmscott likes this. -

I found a new method to significantly reduce the image size of the ISO. Attempting it right now

Nod32 just said windows update available, when you click on details it showed a list of what was available in the update.
It's not here right now so can't screen shot it.hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition v5 Created, now uploading then sending it to MajorGeeks.
@Mr. Fox
Changelog: Found out that you can mount both the Home/Pro Edition at the same time rather than doing it separately as I did before then apply the stuff I want like DirectX 9.0 and Windows 7 Calculator then remove the bloat. This way, the ISO file size has been reduced significantly.
New ISO Size = 5.48 GB
New Instructions for MSMG Toolkit Usage:
1) Load the source then enter * instead of typing 1 or 2 to select Home or Pro. By entering *, this will load both editions so you can do the removal/integration on both editions at the same time.
Then answer YES twice for the questions asked.
2) Integrate the features that you want such as the Windows 7 Calculator and DirectX 9.0
3) Integrate the latest windows update(s)
4) Remove Default Metro Apps > Select Option 1 to remove 3rd Party App Links
5) Remove all metro apps except Store and Xbox
6) Remove OS components like Connect App, Maps, Telemetry, Skype > then Advanced Windows Components like... Windows Defender, Edge, IE, Home Group, etc.
7) Apply the changes
8) Remount the ISO the same way you did in step 1
9) Integrate the .NET Framework 3.5 Component
10) Apply the changes again (Option 6, then 1)
11) Create the ISO (Option 1, then 1, then give the ISO a name such as: Win10_1703_EN-US_x64Last edited: May 10, 2017Papusan, hmscott, Mr. Fox and 1 other person like this. -

Quick question bout that biometrics stuff…
Is there a way to get it back? (besides doing a reinstall). Haven't had any issues yet (at least that I could relate to the biometrics - yesterdays update screwed things massively, but I think that was WUMT), but for piece of mindhmscott likes this. -
thanks for your work but using majorgeeks as only mirror is a no go, always cuts my connections, i can resume but come on, so annoying

While I'm sure any Windows 10 mention will result in projectile vomiting like your sig, I'm not opposed to Windows being updated, nor do I have the time to reformat every time a minor update is made.
I simply want windows to update windows for security, but leave the drivers for me to manage.
But the settings above are what Phoenix setup when he graciously offered his help.
I haven't looked at the settings till Nod32 popped up.
But perhaps I need to upgrade to PRO to better be able to manage the updates from windows.Spartan@HIDevolution and hmscott like this. -
Our point is, you can't trust MS at any level of updates to not futz up your install - requiring a "reformat" as you put it.
So it's best to defer / stop all updates, and then at your convenience - when you have time to check the internet feedback for the updates available - to decide which if any updates should be allowed to apply to your system.
It's going to take time either way, stopping them and checking them before allowing installation, or recovering from random installs done without your intervention.
Lock it down, especially if everything is working fine
Vasudev, Aroc, Fire_Child22 and 1 other person like this. -
Who says you have to reformat every time a minor update is made? And who want being M$ Guinea Pig same day new patches are released?
Maybe you think it's ok give away all your keys to strangers and always leave the door at home remain open? Same for your car or garage?
Here are a few web pages that always have info and downloads when the M$ Morons push out their new trash from the garbage kettle Winaero.com - Ghacks.net
And here is the Windows Update MiniTool for downloading all "needed"patches.
Never let others decide what you want to download. It will only cause sorrow and accidents in the end. I've seen too much tragedy coming from Mico$haft. Why should I give them the keys to my machines? And why let them mess with my systems? If I want mess... I would rather do it by myself.

yes majorgeeks is cool but i just cant download this iso from them, that is the point of having a mirror
------------------
testing v5
for some reason i just cant boot in uefi mode and i have done this tons of times
all my life i used universal usb installer with luck, they boot as uefi and i clean install as gpt
but this iso does not boot for me in uefi, i used rufus as image on OP and it boots in uefi but cant convert gpt
i installed using mbr and it was fine, but uefi i just cant no matter what
reading some, i found UEFI needs fat32, but the iso is 5.5gb, so it wont work on fat32, what´s the point
i know it is not a big deal, but it is annoying
every other updated iso i always get it is <4gb install.wim, so they fit with no problem
//////////////
the solution was to use rufus in UEFI only modeLast edited: May 11, 2017 -

Windows 10 Bloatware-Free Edition v5.1 Uploading as we speak.
Changelog:
- Did not integrate DirectX 9.0 as it seems to create issues with folder permissions
- Did not integrate the latest Windows Updates as I have seen, even if you do integrate them, the moment you run Windows Updates, it still downloads them anyway -

I highly recommend using a hybrid approach. By that I mean use NTLite Free for what MSMG can't do and vice-versa. Granted, an NTLite license will give you full control and you can end up stripping any Windows version to a less than 1 GB install size. That's not the point here though.
I use NTLite to integrate updates, features, drivers. NET hotfixes.
Then start stripping with MSMG the stuff that NTLite free doesn't allow, such as: Windows Defender, Store, Cortana [yes, it breaks search but installing Classic Shell brings it back to life], Metro Apps etc.
Save the image and then reload in NTLite for another round of strips. The 2 most massive offenders in occupying space for Literally Nothing that I stumbled upon [besides obsolete drivers] are: Microsoft Search Natural Language [anywhere between 400-600 MB] and .NET Framework Cache [anywhere between 300-500MB].
Add the DirectX 9.0c Redistributable using the silent switch at the end using this pack.
Hope this helps

New updated instructions order list from MSMG:
1) Integrate all the features you want to add except for DirectX 9.0c and .NET Framework 3.5 using the Integrate Feature Menu.
2) Integrate the Language pack you want if required
3) Integrate the Updates.
4) Remove the Apps you don't want
5) Remove the Components you don't want
6) Apply Changes, this will perform the Cleanup
7) Re-Mount the Source
8) Add the .NET Framework 3.5 using the Integrate Feature Menu.

My bad. Meant it wouldn't activate - lousy typos. When I checked the error code, that's when it gave me the digital license crap.
Did activate in the end - probably right when I clicked post message - so it's all good now. My install was getting glitched - the taskbar would freeze with the latest update, and since you mentioned the biometrics crap I wasn't sure if that wasn't the problem.
Just wish I woulda rescanned the thread again before I installed. Forgot you left Edge and Defender in there. Gone now, but does the defender control panel thingy ever go completely away if it's uninstalled with that tool (as opposed to just being disabled).hmscott and Spartan@HIDevolution like this. -

Even on a stock Windows 10 ISO, you can get rid of Windows Defender and the Windows Security Center completely. Follow this guide:

Hmm I thought you could upgrade any W10 version with the proper key without installing any updates, or does it work differently on your ISO? I do have the W10 PRO license that came with this lappy anyway, so it's just a monir annoyance
-

I don't understand what you mean by upgrade. This is the Home / Pro ISO. It will only activate once you're in Windows if you have a Home/Pro Key, it gives you a choice during setup if you want to install Home or Pro.
