Ah, I guess I should have figured that out, LOL.

Well, the good news is you're not missing anything. There's really nothing to it. A big to do about nothing. You could just download the ISO or do an in-place upgrade using the Micro$lop tool, or use the links Brother @Vasudev posted to create one from UUP and install it yourself if you're in a hurry to get it.

Another thing MS has removed is the ability to cleanup previous Windows 10 updates by allowing the user to cleanup/remove the file hardlinks. Now that feature is gone if you launch the "Disk Cleanup Tool" from Windows Explorer. You no longer see the option to cleanup disk updates. So now you no longer have the option to gain disk space back after an update.

I guess that now probably falls under Storage Sense if and when it decides it can safely remove them, automatically.

Windows 10 1903 Being Blocked If Using Older BattlEye Software bleepingcomputer.com | MAY 25, 2019

Microsoft has stated that they will not allow devices to upgrade to Windows 10 version 1903, otherwise known as the May 2019 Update, if they are running older versions of the anti-cheat software called BattlEye. This is because older versions of the software could cause Windows 10 to crash in version 1903.

Update: I may have spoke to soon. I checked a laptop running 1903 and noticed the diskspace had dropped by around 7GB so I checked Storage Sense and it showed NO reserve space. So I went back into the registry and noticed it was still turned off.

So it's possible disabling it in the Registry has a delayed effect and it takes a few days after you reboot for Storage Sense to release that Disk Space. If someone wants to try it and let us know if that's the case it would be appreciated. I noticed it took affect after 5 days.

There's another workaround MSFT found i.e. if you use dynamic page file the reserved storage will be taken out from that space including system restore, so I had to use fixed page file size of 4096MB and disabled System protection space and then disabled System restore.

It's newer, so it has to be better. Right? Better at what, though? That's the question. And, I'm still looking for something it's better at. So far... nothing. Not one thing.

These were all run back-to-back with identical BIOS settings.

The score looks good on W7 because meltdown and other fixes are disabled by default. I accidentally updated my W7 VM with those telemetry updates and it was stuck at updating and frankly I had old VM backup and I used simplix to bring to latest update in 10 mins. Then, I used harkaz brother's Rebase tool to bring down SxS size from 20GB to 11GB.
Then again, how did you manage to install W7 on SKY-X CPU?

Windows 7 installs on Skylake-X without any issue whatsoever. Drivers are readily available. No magic or driver mods are necessary. The notion that the CPU/chipset is only supported by Windows 10 is a myth that the Redmond Retards would like everyone to believe. They pulled the same stupid crap with Kaby Lake, and Windows 7 works flawlessly with Kaby Lake as well. Unfortunately, many people believe their lies, accept them on face value, and perpetuate them.

Correct. No Meltdown, Spectre or other fixes, and no anti-virus or Defender on any of those three OSes. So, level playing field and Windows 10 loses every time. This is expected, as it is an inferior product that packs a payload of worthless bloat and UWP filth that Windows 7 hasn't been cursed with. The Rubbish Kings from Redmond are getting progressively worse at what they do, and it seems they're just too dumb to remediate their own failures.

So, who's still excited about this shiny new version of Windoze OS X... hmm? Well, time to burst that bubble, kiddos.

Okie-dokie... ask and ye shall receive.

Evidence that demands a verdict. So, here it is.

Further confirmation... newer ain't better when it comes to Windoze OS X and the dirty deeds of the Redmond Mafia. Their retarded crime syndicate continues to produce more of the same. Each release degrades CPU performance little by little. They are imbeciles that couldn't do anything right if their lives depended on it. And, the degradation started with Windows 8.X.

    Testing Process:
    • Same BIOS settings for CPU and RAM
    • Same ESO Extreme services profile applied to both OSes
    • Same GeFarts driver version for both OSes
    • Same GPU power limit manually set using nvidia-smi
    • No Defender, Meltdown and Spectre mitigations disabled, no Windows Updates
    • Run CBR15 2x in 1903, reboot, run CBR15 2x in 1809 ("Keep best score" checked)
    • Run Fire Strike in 1903, reboot, run Fire Strike in 1809 (repeat)
Verdict: Older OS wins every time. A solid "fail" for the Digi-Nazis... as usual. Their rubbish has no limits.

Not that I am aware of. You can make it better than how horrible it is by default, but can't actually make it into something great. It's just way too messed up to really fix. And, the sad part is that everything that is screwed up about it was done intentionally by the imbeciles that made it.

    Thanks for confirming.
I'll downgrade v1903 to v1809 because the updates are getting applied for both Online image and offline servicing image and offline servicing has bug that consumes 1.1GB under Windows\servicing folder and prevent future updates on any PC.
Bloody hell its 5th clean install this month for v1903 and I'm sick of it.

To prove the theory, let's also add 1709 into the comparison and it becomes ever the more clear that older is better where Windows performance is concerned.

If you have problems with a cumulative update, then you can uninstall this in the old Control Panel -> Installed Update again. So it was and still partly in the Windows 10 1903....

And everything being better for each new OS version the Redmond Morons throw out. When will they reach the utter bottom?

    You'll need..

    SSU KB4498523
    • Fixes a problem that can prevent the correct loading of user profiles at reboot after installing certain updates.
    • Fixes an issue that can occur when a language pack is installed while an update is pending. The update may not install, and you may receive the error "0x800f0982."
    • Fixes a problem that can occur when an optional feature, such as .Net Framework 3.5, is installed while an update is pending. The installation of the function may fail, and you may receive the error "0x800F080C."
    • Fixes an issue where updates may not be able to be installed after the / resetbase command has been run in DISM.
SSU should always be installed before the cumulative update (released at same time). This if you manual download and install patches yourself.

Dynamic update is for integration into an installation media. Not for the normal installation.

I don't know what's up. Because I haven't installed the newest (and greatest ) from Micro$lope. Ain't their unpaid Guinea pig. I don't jump on new the first days/weeks. I rather follow up and see how it works first.

j00 are aware that s00n3r or later you will have to upgrade there is no running away from it because new drivers won't install, no security updates, no windows store which a lot of drivers now rely on

Assuming Micro$haft survives long enough to bring their hellacious nightmare to fruition, that could happen. In the meanwhile, just say no. That day isn't here yet except for those that are already drinking the Kool-Aid. If we're lucky, they will not survive long enough for that to happen, or they'll have to straighten up and fly right to avoid being displaced by alternatives OSes that don't employ draconian control freak nonsense that smart people refuse to tolerate.

Exactly. I have not the hurry or desire for jumping on their wrecking train right now.

Can be fixed by changing min and max version in MUP file.xml or setup.xml in nvidia drivers. Change to what you what. For now, post DCH I mean Hybrid-driver use min version to be Insider version 10.0.17353.0.
There's a choice always and use LTSC branching to get critical features backported to v1809. I Clean installed Win 10 v1809 because W10 v1903 is somewhat buggy. I reinstalled win 10 v1903 5 times this month and all have same Dism servicing issue.
I've 2 more PCs that are on v1803 and WU doesn't force upgrade to v1809 and above for some reason.

I haven't experienced any issues with it causing issues with W10 in the past, but I haven't tried it on 1903. Did it start with 1903 for you?

sorry never mind. just found out that program is way to old. from 2014. so downloaded registry defrag and now it works.
    thanks.
one last question when first installed win10 sg=hut down and power up are very fast. after i log in it used to load home screen in a second. now that i clean installed the guide here and did tweaks and debloated win10 it takes longer to load home screen. i tought it would benefit and make it even faster. any idea.?
