Microsoft Just Gave A Billion Users A Reason To Quit Windows 10 | Forbes
Since May, Windows 10 updates have impacted premium games, kicked users out of their profiles (twice), broken printers, cut Internet connections, caused boot failures and, yes, once again deleted user data.
Something needs to change and at this point it is either Microsoft’s Windows testing practices or its users’ choice of operating system.

Windows has tried to install this update 2004 a few times but it keeps on failing with error (0xc19001e1)
EDIT: I downloaded the update tool, "Windows10Upgrade9252.exe"
And it downloaded the 2004 update and then rebooted my PC and complete the install and everything seems OK so far.Last edited: Jun 22, 2020jc_denton likes this. -

Well got it back up to 66mb/s. Apparently all it needed was a drive trim operation. Next step would be getting intel nvme drivers on it, and maybe then disabling specter, though I dont think I will disable it.

I'd stick to setting pre-rendered frames to "1" and call it a day for fast paced games, or to +3 if benching.

All improvements were margin of error and some games have bugs with HW gpu scheduling that tank performance.

This is the most relevant topic I think. I cannot use gamevisual on my newly installed W10 2004. It asks for a configuration update, then tells me to restart. Then it's repeated. So annoying. I was using it for eyecare. Anyone knows how to fix? If not, anyone can offer a replacement for that crappy Asus software?
-
There is f.lux I think it does the same because I don't know if that gamesense program does something else or not, but not all games will respect its gamma changes..

Windows hdd defrag, has supported ssd for a while and you can optimize your ssd which is trim as far as i know, and it use to say like it`s been 5 day`s since you last optimized.
But since updating to 2004 when i run optimize and then reboot it says it`s never been run before.
And this happen`s on both my Win10 machine updated to 2004
I know SSD do Trim automatically on Windows 10, But it showing as optimize as never being run when it has is a bit unsettling.
Anybody else noticed this.

Windows 10 Device Manager is losing internet driver updates feature
Starting with Windows 10 version 2004 (Build 19041.423), Microsoft has quietly disabled the option to update drivers in Device Manager over the internet.
The first option in Device Manager will only install the updated driver if you already have pre-downloaded the package and it is on your computer’s hard drive. Windows 10 Build 19041.423 also blocks the Device Manager from connecting to Microsoft servers or the internet.
This means that whoever wants to easily and automatically update drivers in Windows 10 from Microsoft servers must use the Settings app, as the Device Manager no longer allows you to update the drivers over the internet.
