Who is it for?
Microsoft continues to add new items to the taskbar, including the Meet Now icon as a Skype shortcut, the People icon, and others. News and weather information is available in Start as well, but it is possible that Microsoft is going to remove these from Start to make them appear on the taskbar instead. The information that is provided appears to be identical to the news and weather information that users of the new Edge get on the browser's New Tab page, at least the sources are. The page displays advertisement.
Most Windows 10 users may have reservations regarding the feature because of potential privacy implications. The feed in its initial form is not very useful; this means that users need to train it, and that is providing Microsoft with lots of data on user interests.

A bug makes Windows 10 crash by just opening this path
You may remember the recent NTFS corruption bug in Windows that doesn't even require administrative privileges to be abused. There is a new bug in Windows 10. If you open a special path, the OS will crash and you will end up with the BSOD.

Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 18363.1379 with a fix for Wi-Fi connection issues neowin.com · Today
Just a couple of days after Patch Tuesday, Microsoft today released Windows 10 build 18363.1379, an out-of-band update for 1909 that addresses blue screen issues when connecting to Wi-Fi via WPA3.
The issue originated in build 18363.1350 that was served as an optional update to users back in January. For those that did not opt to install this build, the same packages were rolled into this month’s Patch Tuesday updates, possibly causing more users to report the issues as they began updating their devices. The company notes in the issues log that the issue only affects WPA3 connections.
The KB5001028 out-of-band update is currently available via Windows Update, WSUS, and via the Microsoft Update catalog.

Be aware on this one if you want to avoid the latest and greatest.
KB4023057 [Manual download] for all Windows 10 versions for the update components
good Morning February 12, 2021
Microsoft has released an update KB 4023057 with reliability improvements for the components of the Windows Update service for all Windows 10 versions. It is made available for the consumer versions, not the enterprise versions of Windows 10.
Notes on this update
- This update may cause your device to stay awake longer to allow updates to be installed.
- The installation respects all user-configured hibernation configurations and also your “active hours” when you use your device most.
- This update can attempt to reset network settings if problems are detected and it cleans up registry keys that may prevent updates from being installed successfully.
- This update may repair disabled or damaged Windows operating system components that determine the applicability of updates to your version of Windows 10.
- This update may compress files in your user profile directory to make space available for critical updates to be installed.
- This update may reset the Windows Update database to resolve the issues that could prevent updates from installing successfully. Therefore, you may see that your Windows Update history has been deleted.

Yet another great idea.
The company is still ‘exploring’ the idea and it looks like the Settings app is also getting updated with a new ‘Device Usage’ section to help users customize their device after they’ve left the OOBE screen.
If the new settings page is indeed based on the OOBE experience and our theory is correct, users will be able to pick the main usage category for their machine. The following ‘device usage’ categories will be offered initially:
- Gaming
- Family
- Creativity
- Schoolwork
- Entertainment
- Business.

"On May 11, 2021, the Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations editions of Windows 10 version 1909 and all editions of Windows Server, version 1909 will reach end of service," Microsoft says on the Windows 10 Health Dashboard.
"Customers who contact Microsoft Support after this date will be directed to update their device to the latest version of Windows 10 to remain supported," the company added.
Education and Enterprise editions of Windows 10 1909 will reach their end of service next year, on May 11, 2022. Several editions of Windows 10 versions 1803 and 1809 will also reach end of service on May 11, 2021, after Microsoft delayed it due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Windows 10 gets first combined LCU/SSU update in public release bleepincomputer.com | Today
For the first time in a public release, Microsoft has released a Windows 10 cumulative update that is combined with a servicing stack update for ease of installation.
Microsoft sometimes releases a special update called a servicing stack update (SSU) that fixes bugs or issues that may prevent a cumulative update from installing correctly.
However, Servicing Stack Updates are not released every month, and it can be confusing as to when they are needed and which update is required for a particular cumulative update.
Microsoft announced in September that they were planning to combine the required SSU update with the latest cumulative update (LCU) to make this process easier.
Windows 10 update to hide 3D Objects in File Explorer, improve Bluetooth UX windowslatest.com - February 24, 2021
With the Creators Update (version 1703), Microsoft added a new Paint 3D app to Windows 10 to help users sketch in 2D and create 3D objects. Paint 3D app allows you to turn photos into 3D models, customize the photos with extra colours and textures, and access it from File Explorer.
Even if you don’t use Paint 3D, you may find the 3D Objects folder in File Explorer under “This PC’. 3D Objects folder is unnecessary and some consider it as bloatware added with Paint 3D.
But as usual halfbaked.... Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn’t allow you to remove 3D Objects and other folders from File Explorer using Control Panel or Settings. If you want to remove these folders, you need to use Registry editor and delete the entry. This useless fature should never have been put into Windows 10 in first place!

While the update designed is for select Intel processors, it will also show up for download on AMD PCs and it cannot be skipped. If you pause the updates today, the download will automatically start when updates are resumed.
As we mentioned at the outset, it is an Intel CPU Microcode update, but Microsoft is also pushing it to AMD CPUs. The update doesn’t have any effect on non-Intel CPUs, which means nothing will happen even if it gets downloaded and installed on unsupported Intel and AMD processors.

On March 9, 2021, Microsoft released regular Patch Tuesday updates for all supported Windows versions. These updates brought lots of security fixes and several zero-day vulnerabilities patches. Unfortunately, some severe bugs arrived alongside security improvements. Many users report having trouble printing documents from different apps, and Microsoft has already confirmed the problem.
Very nice. Companies relying on top security must choose between Pest or Cholera. A working machine or open the doors for malware / hackers, LOOL

How to fix the Blue Screen of Death error
The good news is that there’s a relatively simple fix for Blue Screen of Death crashes: uninstall the cumulative updates and pause the updates for at least 7 days or until the problem is fixed by Microsoft.
To do this, open Control Panel > Programs & Features > Viewed installed updates. Select the update and click on ‘Uninstall’.
If the process fails via Control Panel, you can also use Command Prompt.
For version 2004/20H2, use the following command:
- wusa /uninstall /kb:5000802
- wusa /uninstall /kb:5000808
This is not the first critical bug that severely breaks users’ workflow. Recently, a cumulative update crippled webcams for some users. The good thing is that Microsoft reacted quickly and confirmed the issue. The company is now working on fixing all the known bugs.

I know I'm a bit pessimistic, but my first thought was wouldn't it just be nice to have the current features just work and cause no blue screen issues for a large segment of users? For example, wouldn't it be nice to print something and not have a Blue Screen?
Seems like that would be more of a benefit than being able to change the wallpaper on your lock screen.
